Why aren't my contacts in alpha order when printing list?

For some reason, even thought they are in the proper order in the address book, when i print a list they are in a random order. They are not in order by last or first. curious...anyone know the fix?

not only do I love your suggestion but I love the ostrich on your home page..... I also teach a class and this is the quickest way of printing out a sign-in sheet. I do it with a little more effort but this is extremely quick; Also as a side note, if you want some of your other address book comments to show up you can preset the columns' name with the "exact" field name and it will plop in that information also, ie address or notes... I didn't check on the picture but I know the other fields do show up.
Apple really needs to fix this problem. I really don't like the extra step of going to icloud.com to print out things alphabetically it's so inconvenient. Tim Cook may not see it as a problem but I'm sure Steve Jobs would not tolerate "half-a**ed" software on his operating systems...I just read some terse comments he made to his staff when another program was not up to his expectations (Mobile Me) and that is why he PERSONALLY presented iCloud to the public He expected perfection and when he didn't get it, he let the hammer fall.
This has been a problem ever since Mountain Lion came out and they are totally ignoring it. I, and I'm sure many of you, have reported this "bug" to them to fix over the past year and nothing has been done. It should be an easy fix.

Favorites Contacts in Alpha order

I have marked some contacts as Favorites. Under Favorites the Contacts were included as and when I added. Now I want to arrange them in alpha order. How do I do it? Thanks!

Click on the Edit button, you'll see 3-line-bars at the end of each line. You re-order the entries in the list by dragging those bars.

HT204150 Why aren't my contacts showing up on iCloud from my phone?

So, I am attempting to use the icloud feature to create groups. However, when I go on my icloud contacts, none of my contacts show up from my phone! My accounts are linked, etc etc. How do I get them to show up? The only thing that shows up is my name.
One odd thing that happened when I did the iphone ios version 5 update is all my contacts were erased. That really ticked me off. So what is it that apple and I cannot seem to work through? Is this a technical problem?
Update: starting to realize that I am adding all my contacts to the "on my iphone" list. So is there any way to quickly transer the on my iphone contact group to my icloud group so i can make more groups?

Go to Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars and tap Default Account in the Contacts section. Here, select iCloud as the default so new conacts are created in your iCloud account in the future (rather than in On My iPhone).
Then go to Settings>iCloud, turn Contacts to Off, when prompted choose Delete from My iPhone. This will delete the iCloud contacts from your phone but not from iCloud. They will be synced back later.
Next, download the app My Contacts Backup. Use the app to back up the contacts on your phone (from the On My iPhone account) as an attachment to an email. Send this email to yourself.
Go back to Settings>iCloud and turn Contacts back to On. This will sync your iCloud contacts back to your phone.
Open the email you sent earlier and tap the attachment to add the contacts to your phone. They will be imported to your iCloud account as you set this as your default earlier.
Finally, to avoid seeing duplicates of your On My iPhone contacts, open your contacts and tap Groups. You can either tap the On My iPhone group until it's unchecked and tap Done (which will hide these from view); or, you can tap the other groups until On My iPhone is the only one checked and tap Done, then go through these contacts and delete them from your phone. When finished, recheck the other Groups and tap Done.

How do I change the "Attach File" list from icons in alpha order to a list in chonological order?

When I want to attach a file to an email message, it's usually the last file I worked on. Firefox used to display the items as a list in chronological order, with the most recent item at the top. Now it displays icons (which I hate!) in alpha order, which is soooooo not useful. I think this change may have occurred after the last update I loaded for Firefox. I'd appreciate any suggestions on how to get back to my original format. Thanks!

OOPS! Looks like this is happening in Word as well, so it's not a Firefox issue. ... but I still can't figure out how to change it. Any suggestions?

Why does the K5400 use up colour ink when printing greyscale?

Please let me know why all K5400 printers use up the coloured inks when printing only grey scale, is there a way of stopping this waste of inks.?

There are a few possibilities:
The color drops are typically much smaller than the black drops so color is used for grayscale graphics unless "use black only" is checked in the driver. Depending on your operating system and driver this may be an option.
Black ink is generally not compatible with photo paper. If you are using photo paper only color ink will be used.
Color ink is used for servicing to keep the nozzles clear. See here for information on how ink is used.

Why aren't my files in acrobat ordering themselves properly?

If I have files named File1, File 2, File 3.........File10, File11, File12, when they upload to acrobat.com, they rearrange to File1, File10, File11, File12, File2, File 3....etc.
Why don't they arrange themselves into a correct numbering order?
It's very frustrating when I specifically name and number files so they're sequential, and they don't appear that way on the server.

These are in alphabetical order. If you want File2 to come before File12, you should rename it File02.

Why aren't my contacts saving on my phone?

I recently purchased an iPhone 4 about a month ago. I've had this problem twice already. I'm probably just iPhone stupid, but I can't figure out why my contacts dissapear after saving them. I did, however, delete my phone contacts on my yahoo email account. That may be why they deleted when I plugged in my phone to my computer and connected to iTunes. I also tried restoring from backup, or whatever. But I unplugged it, started saving numbers again, and my phone only saved select phone numbers and other numbers disappeared. It's frustrating and I can't figure out why! I lost all of my contacts except for those people I have texted recently, because I remember what conversation I had with whatever person. Help!

No. but iCloud knows it should be able to resync your contacts from the gmail server when it restores your phone.

First things to check is to make sure iCloud is on on both devices and you are signed I n to the same account on each device. Also check to make sure Contacts syncing is on on both devices.

Why aren't my contacts showing up in text messages or the call list?

I sync my iphone only with my exchange contacts. It was workng fine until yesterday. My contacts list show up in the contacts app with the correct names, but the text messages and missed calls/voicemail list only shows numbers... not showing contact name. What can I do?

I am having the same issue and it all started after the update I downloaded last night. I have tried calling *288 VRZ support option and afterwars performed a soft boot with no fix. The +1 for USA option is not one I can even imagine doing with over 2000 contacts... There has got to be an easier solution...???

Why aren't new contacts being added from incoming texts and/or recent calls loading in main Contacts?

Everytime I get a text and I click the "Info" button and then "add new contact"... There name appears at the top of the screen and in the caller id/text message screen, however when I go to contacts the new addition isn't loading up.
Then when I went to Groups and to "Show ALL Contacts" I can see the new additions. However I also see EVER SINGLE email address listed seperately from my Yahoo account. I am so confused. Is there a way to get the new contacts added to display in my contacts list, without it also displaing my Yahoo email contacts?!??!

When you add new contact you are adding the contact to your default contacts account. Your default contact account is set in Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Contacts > Default Account. If this account is checked in the Contacts app Groups view, you will see the new contacts in the Contacts app. Otherwise not.
I suspect your problem is that your default contact account is not set to the account you think it is.

If i backed up my old phone why aren't my contacts syncing

i had a problem with my old phone so i went to the apple store and they told me to back up my information on my computer which i did so i went to the apple store today to exchange my phone for a new one since i got my last one in february, now i connected my new iphone to my computer (iphone 4) and it says that i have no sim card, the last iphone i had didnt have one either but i was able to use it - this one won't let me go past the first few things that pop up when you get a new phone.. if i dont have a sim card how do i come about this problem?

You have to have a SIM card from an activated iPhone or one that was previously used to activate the original iPhone in order to activate your phone for use, even if you don't have service. If you don't have one borrow one from a friend.

Why aren't Yahoo contacts syncing to iCloud?

I have 2 contacts groups on my iPad. I have an iPad group and a Yahoo group. I can see all of my contacts on my iPad, but on iCloud.com I can only see my iPad contacts. If I click the groups ribbon, it only shows one group. What am I doing wrong? All of my iCloud syncs are on, but the yahoo contacts do not show on iCloud. Only one group shows on the iCloud ribbon.

Only an iCloud group will sync with iCloud.

Why are my pics out of folder order when I sync to my computer

Can someone please explain why when I sync my iphone 4s the pics on my home computer folder are correct and in order but once
I sync to my phone they are scrambled?

Thumbnails always look better because they are smaller and smaller always improves definition. How does the video look when played directly from the camera, say through a TV? I suspect that the video itself is out of focus and you couldn't notice until you blew up the picture.a guess.

Changing album order when printing in mosaic

Is there a way to change the order album artwork appears when using mosaic as a print option? I can't see that the order they're arranged correlates to anything.

You can't change the order of the photos in the built in photos app. There are other apps that give you much more flexibility than what the photos app allows. You may want to do a search in the App Store for one that suits your needs.

Random image order when printing multiple images on one page.

If I filter images within a browser (lets say * stars or better) and then select print, and set up multiple different images per sheet to print, then the order of the images on the pages is seemingly random, certainly not the oder within the browser. If I print 4 images per sheet it might start with the 3rd image, then the 9th, then the 2nd, then the 12th. If I don't filter the images and select all the images in the browser it seems to be OK.
Any ideas?
