Why aren't my contacts showing up in text messages or the call list?

I sync my iphone only with my exchange contacts. It was workng fine until yesterday. My contacts list show up in the contacts app with the correct names, but the text messages and missed calls/voicemail list only shows numbers... not showing contact name. What can I do?

I am having the same issue and it all started after the update I downloaded last night. I have tried calling *288 VRZ support option and afterwars performed a soft boot with no fix. The +1 for USA option is not one I can even imagine doing with over 2000 contacts... There has got to be an easier solution...???

So, I am attempting to use the icloud feature to create groups. However, when I go on my icloud contacts, none of my contacts show up from my phone! My accounts are linked, etc etc. How do I get them to show up? The only thing that shows up is my name.
One odd thing that happened when I did the iphone ios version 5 update is all my contacts were erased. That really ticked me off. So what is it that apple and I cannot seem to work through? Is this a technical problem?
Update: starting to realize that I am adding all my contacts to the "on my iphone" list. So is there any way to quickly transer the on my iphone contact group to my icloud group so i can make more groups?

Go to Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars and tap Default Account in the Contacts section. Here, select iCloud as the default so new conacts are created in your iCloud account in the future (rather than in On My iPhone).
Then go to Settings>iCloud, turn Contacts to Off, when prompted choose Delete from My iPhone. This will delete the iCloud contacts from your phone but not from iCloud. They will be synced back later.
Next, download the app My Contacts Backup. Use the app to back up the contacts on your phone (from the On My iPhone account) as an attachment to an email. Send this email to yourself.
Go back to Settings>iCloud and turn Contacts back to On. This will sync your iCloud contacts back to your phone.
Open the email you sent earlier and tap the attachment to add the contacts to your phone. They will be imported to your iCloud account as you set this as your default earlier.
Finally, to avoid seeing duplicates of your On My iPhone contacts, open your contacts and tap Groups. You can either tap the On My iPhone group until it's unchecked and tap Done (which will hide these from view); or, you can tap the other groups until On My iPhone is the only one checked and tap Done, then go through these contacts and delete them from your phone. When finished, recheck the other Groups and tap Done.

I just bought an iphone 4s and transferred all my data (I hope), my contacts are a mess, but they are in my address book. The probelm is that when somebody sends me a text, their phone number is displayed, but not their name. I have no idea who's texting me. How do I fix this?

AT&T couldn't solve the problem; A trip to the Genius Bar was necessary. I dragged my iphone, imac and ipad up to the bar so the whole mess could be straightened out. My new iphone had to be reset completely; icloud had to be reloaded (the genius said not having it wasn't an option). On the plus side: I now know who's texting me. On the downside: some of my calendar entries were lost, some contacts, and some new photos and video (but I keep a handwritten day book for times like these); some of the "notes" fields within the contacts were lost (but I spent over 2 hours yesterday going through each contact to make sure I wrote down any and all pertinent info that I couldn't afford to lose - tomorrow I will re-enter that info). And tonight I am updating everything and it's kind of cool to watch the calender entries update out of thin air. As nice as all this electronic gadgetry is, I am still going to maintain my handwritten calendar and I'm going to start an address book on a word processing program so I can print it out.... just in case the cloud should ever burst.

Are they showing on icloud.com? If not, check to be sure you are adding the contacts to the iCloud account and not a non-iCloud account, such as On My iPhone, Gmail, Yahoo or an exchange account.

Well we are all "getting up to speed" with HTML5 because, as it stands, it is still not a standard.
As to styling in CS4 vs CS5.5, Dreamweaver is an engine that assists in making good HTML code. It's agnostic. If you don't close your tags properly in CS 5.5 and then open the same document in CS4, it will notice that you did not close your tags properly.
Adobe makes plugins that will allow CS4 to do code hinting properly with HTML5 selectors and CSS3, assuming the document is peroperly defined as an HTML5 document.

So there are no apps at all on your home screens? Try a reset. Hold the sleep/wake and home buttons together until you see the Apple logo and then release. The phone will reboot. If you don't see anything after that, take a look at all of your home screens and folders to see if something is hidden. It that doesn't work, you can go to Settings>General>Reset>Reset Home Screen Layout.

Go into the itunes app. Go to featured. Scroll all the way down to the bottom. Log out. Then login with your id. Chances are he used your ipad for something and logge into his own account.

Are you trying to reduce the visual clutter on the phone, save space on the phone, or limit the security exposure if your phone is stolen?
If you are only wanting to reduce the visual clutter and make scrolling through the list faster, you could set up a group on the computer containing only the contacts you want to see on my phone (called, for example, "Show on my Phone") and enable only that group inside Contacts on the phone. You might even have one or more existing groups that you could enable that way (maybe "Family" and "Personal").

Go to settings>messages>send and receive at>you can be reached by iMessages at> Uncheck your phone number and you can select your Apple ID emal address if you want to use that for messages.

Since iChat 6 the SMS option in the Menus has disappeared.
However if you add the number to a Buddy List as if it were Screen Name but with the leading +1 (as in +1234567890) it will work over AIM.
It only works to US phones on some Carriers.

How do I get my contact pictures to appear by each text message in the text app?

I have the iPhone 5S completely updated & a few of my friends with the iPhone 6 & a few with the 5, have their contacts picture by each text message. Is that only installed for the 6 or Is there some ah way I can make mine like that?
