Why aren't my playlists syncing in the order i put them in?

I put my playlists in a specific order - why, when my iTouch is synced does it not keep them in that order??? I've read about 'smart playlists' - I'm fairly certain that my playlists are not 'smart' - but I was curious as to how one can tell???

A Smart Playlist has a small cog like icon in iTunes. A regular playlist has a a musical note on top of a piece of "sheet-music paper" icon.
If you highlight a Playlist in iTunes and select File, if Edit Smart Playlist is greyed out, then it isn't a Smart Playlist. If you can Edit Smart Playlist, then it is.
You cannot distinguish Smart Playlists from regular Playlists on the iPod Touch, they look the same.

Also, this album is not available on iTunes or I would have just bought it. Should I just give up on this one CD? Perhaps it's because it is by Various Artists and iTunes/Shuffle doesn't know how to sync up when transferring. (?)

Why won't my playlist load in the order I've chosen?

I've run into a problem today. (it's my first since purchasing)
I've been trying to get my playlist to play in the order I've chosen and it just won't. I've made sure to click and unclick shuffle on/off, play playlist once, repeat or 1 song....nothing seems to work. It's disappointing because it's actually a workout compilation I like and it should really play in order. (for intensity)
Do I need to Reset my player? Reinstall iTunes?

My problem is that the grid display the columns in
ALPHABETICAL order, rather than the order in which I listed the
columns. I see from the docs this is correct behavior. But of
course, I want my columns in the order I specified, not
alphabetical. Would anyone know how to turn this feature off?

On ipod g4, when i edit playlists the songs no longer stay in the order i put them when touching DONE

On ipod g4, when I edit playlists, the songs no longer stay in the order that I put them when I press DONE. Worked fine till a day ago.

Resolved itself the next day.

My iphone 4S will randomly shuffle my playlists regardless of what order I put them in. It also just removes songs at random. What is going on???

My new iphone 4S is not keeping playlists in th order I sync them and will randomly shuffle them no matter how many times i rearrange them. I don't think I have the shuffle setting on, but can't figure out why it shuffles, removes, and adds songs at will. I am a Zumba instructor and need my playlists in a specific order.

I'm having a similar problem with my iPhone 4s. Just loaded all of my play lists onto it and it shuffles the order on some playlists but not others. It is not a matter of shuffle being selected anywhere. In fact when I connect my iPhone to my Mac and look my play lists in iTunes, they appear in the correct order. When I view my playlists on my iPhone, some appear in a random order. The suggestions to turn shuffle off have not helped since nowhere does shuffle appear to be on. And I have the "shake to shuffle" turned off as well. I listen to a lot of continuously mixed music so these randomizations of my playlists are very problematic. I didn't have this problem at all with my iPod Touch. Should I just try deleting the troublesome playlists and reinstalling them?

Search engines won't stay in the order I put them in

This is a problem with 3.6, but hasn't gone away after switching to 4.0 beta. Basically, the amazon search box keeps reverting to over the google search box and being the default when I open the browser. I've repeatedly switched the order back to the way I want it (and then closed the search with "Ok," rather than "Cancel"), but whenever I close and reopen Firefox, amazon is back on top.
I know this is pretty trivial, but with web browsers, you just want things to work and not obnoxiously ignore your preferences for no apparent reason. Any help would be appreciated.

Unfortunately, that didn't work. Closed Firefox, deleted both files, reopened, got rid of the default search engines I didn't want, set the order the way I wanted it, closed Firefox and reopened it, and the order is back to what it was before.

Why Aren't My Playlists Syncing?

-iPhone 4S, Ver. 7.0.6
-MacBook Pro, OS X, Ver. 10.9.1
-iTunes Ver. 11.1.5
So, for some reason whenever I sync my iPhone to my Mac, my Playlists are never copied over to my iPhone. The only time that I can see them is when I go to the MORE tab at the bottom of my phone's screen (while in "Music")-select SHARED-and then select my MacBook's Library. Obviously, I can only select my MacBook's Library if we share the same network. While in iTunes on my computer, I do have a check in the "Sync Music" & "Entire Music Library" boxes. I tried to see where my Playlists are stored on my MacBook, but couldn't find them anywhere (I assumed they were in the same place as my iTunes Media folder location). Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks!

make sure that all your software is up to date
turn phone on airplane mode
uncheck all music
sync
this will erase all music on your phone
recheck music you want from your libary
apply

With your playlist in "List view", click on the header over the column of numbers all the way to the left. This will then reveal the true playback (and sync) order.
However, the sort order in iTunes may not agree with the sort order on your device, but that is a separate issue and seems to have too many variables to go into here.

Is your playlist set to "Manual order"? Click the the left-most column header for manual sort. Then drag and arrange the songs to the order you want.

I have Iphones since they cam out buy IO7 on my iphone 4 is slow and frustrating. I sync itunes with sync window. I tried cable and wireless. I have enough space. If I have a playlist say with 200 songs it will say on itunes sync window syncing 200 songs however I only get 150 songs on my iphone. I have restored iphone twice, I have tried playlists and smart play lists. It seems not to sync the same songs all the time. Prior to IO7 in sinced all my songs. I see on the chats that this is a big problem. Do you have any solutions. the songs that dont sync are the same format as those that do.
