Why aren't my podcasts appearing in the 'Music' app?

After updating my iPhone 4S to IOS6 I was dismayed to see that I had to download a new Podcasts app to listen to my podcasts. Even though when I sync my iPhone to iTunes the fact that I may have more Podcasts in the app than I have synced doesn'e register with either iTunes or my iPhone.
I think seperating the two was a terrible desicion and is there anyway to get the podcasts back into 'Music'?

OK, Bhazel, I think I just found what I was looking for, and I tried it and it worked. check out this discussion

Re: Podcasts App - No sync with iTunes??

I also had a lot of podcasts in my Mac's Itunes library, but none of them appeared in my iPhone's podcasts app.
Here's what worked for me:
1- Uncheck all podcasts in Mac's iTunes (under devices > iphone > podcasts)
2- Syncronize (That should mean deleting all podcasts from the iPhone)
3- Uninstall Podcasts app from iPhone
4- Reinstall Podcasts app
5- Re-Check podcasts to syncronize in iTunes
6- Sync
7- It worked for me!
Hope that helps!

    Try in order:
    - Resetting the iPod:
Reset iPod touch:  Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Restore the iPod from backup via iTunes
    - Restore the iPod to factory defaults/new iPod since you may have corruption that is now in your backup
Based on the info you provided it appears you did the restore from backup and sitll have problems.  Thus, I would just restore the iPod to factory defaults/new iPod.

  • Why is Podcast missing from the Music App. in iOS7

I'm dissapointed on the fact that Podcasts are no longer supported by iOS7's music app.
I used it on a daily basis and its hard for me to believe that Apple purposely made this change. I hope this is just an error which can be acceptable and hopefully fixed soon.
    Apple..... I hope you're listening...

Which is a horrible app that shows every **** podcast you subsctribe to, whether or not you have a new episode, and doesn't let you arrange them properly to only show unplayed episodes.  It's also a completely needless app since the Music app handles podcasts just fine.

  • My music lyrics won't appear on the lock screen in iOS 5.1.1. The lyrics appear in the music app

PLz help my lyrics used to appear but now they don't appear I have put the lyrics in the songs but thu only appear the music app help

Sorry, I meant swiping, not tapping.
It took me three reboots and one restore from the previous backup, only after that it started working as expected.
I also noticed that a lot of ram kept being marked as used although not a single app was running in the background.
Anyway - why did it need to be a swipe instead of a tap? One can only access it after a home button press - safe enough to not accidentally activate it.
I miss the possibility like in iOS 3 to assign the home button double-click to the camera start. THAT was really handy.

  • Why aren't my files storing in the Music Library

I use mp3 rocket to download music from the internet. Although it has done it before, now I am finding that the files are in itunes under mp3 rocket shared files, but they are not showing up in the music library. Why would this be happening all of a sudden and how do I fix it?

  • Why has "get more episodes" disappeared from the Music App in iOS5

Since I upgrade to iOS5 I have noticed 2 "downsides" to the "iPod" replacement app "Music".
Firstly the "get more episodes" has disappearwed from the podcast pages as has the symbols as to which track is playing or is unplayed.
Apple please may we have these facilities back?
    Rgds, Robin

I don't care for the changes to "music", formerly "ipod", app either.  Even the icon color is a bit much compared to the old ipod icon.
I really miss the "get more episodes" and hope it will be back soon.  It is a good feature, and one I used every day.
The format is harder to work with.
If one podcast is playing or loaded and paused, I don't seem to be able to activate a different podcast.
All but one or two of the podcast icons just show music note instead of podcast picture.
Button to switch back to list of podcast episodes seems to be gone as well.
    Missing the played/unplayed as well.
There is no 30 second replay button on the broadcast as far as I can tell.
I seem to be getting all episodes listed on a podcast page, but not all of them are even loaded.
IOS5 didn't really improve the podcast format/experience, but has made it less user-friendly. IMO

  • HT5295 The old podcast player in the music app allowed you to rate the podcast which later gets uploads to iTunes. Is this feature still in the new app?

It's a pretty straight forward question, the podcast player that is built into the music player in iOS has a star rating feature that allows users to rate everything from music to podcasts which is than transfered to iTunes. Since Apple seperate podcasts with it's own app, I have been unable to find the star rating feature in the podcast app. Does anyone know if this is hidden somewhere in the app or can be turned on? It was a really useful feature and I'm surprised Apple didn't expand it further to allow listners to transmit their ratings to podcast producers.

same question...Why can you still not rotate within the music app?!!!???

  • No podcasts in iOS 7 Music app?

When the Podcast app was first released, I installed it and found that podcasts were no longer listed in the Music app. This led to an issue for me when I connetec my iPhone 4--and later iPhone 5--to the USB port in my 2011 Honda Accord. If I had been listening to a 'cast prior to connection, I could get a about a minute of it in the car before the Honda software identified it as 'unsupported.' By deleting the Podcast app in iOS 6, Podcasts returned to the Music app and I could access them in the car without issue. Now...iOS 7...reminds me that without the Podcast app, I will not be able to listen to podcasts. I installed the Podcast app, confirmed all of my subscriptions were there, deleted it and restarted the phone. Opened the Music app...no podcasts. What is the rationale for removing this choice from me? Now, I need to carry an old 80GB iPod Classic which CAN talk to my car's software and allows me to use the in-dash displays to review the podcasts (and music) available. What, Jony Ives, is the benefit in forcing me to do things your way? Can I have podcasts back in the Music app in iOS 7.0.1, please?

Maybe you should get a new car.

  • Why do some Podcasts appear on the iPhone in different locations?

I subscribe to six podcasts in iTunes.
When I sync to my iPhone, four of these appear in iTunes>Podcasts and the other two appear in Videos>Podcasts.
    (a) Why don't they all appear in the same place?
    (b) How can I make them all appear in the same place?
(Originally posted to Apple Support Communities > iPhone > Using iPhone > Discussions and reposted here on advice)

I don't know who advised you to repost this here, but I'm afraid I can't help you. I don't have an iPhone, and this isn't a 'creating podcasts' problem, the topic of this forum. It's always possible that someone might chip in, but you would be better off in the iPhone forum and possibly the iTunes forum.

  • Itouch5 why when I open up the music app iTunes Radio does not appear I have iOS 7 and I am in the US also any answers?

I have iOS 7 and am using an itouch 5 in the United States but iTunes Radio is not opening when I go to the music app any solutions?

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
The above reset work for some users
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:

    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
