Why aren't URLs highlighted in the forums?

As I discussed with Marcus in Forum Bug: URLs in forum posts not rendered anymore as hyperlinks there is a www convention that hyperlinks are indicated by colour and/or underlining. The old forum skin used colour.
Did you notice there was a link in that paragraph? If not my point is made. If you did, well congrats. Presumably you have got yourself into the habit of trailing your mouse along every sentence as you read.
This new forum skin doesn't use colour not does it use underlining, with the consequnce that links are invisible in the text (unless we explicitly print them but that makes the text hard to read).
Of course, the purpose of the new skin is to make the forum look like the rest of OTN, so I would just like to point out that text hyperlinks on the rest of OTN are underlined - check out the ADVANCED SEARCH link in the tool bar at the top of this page.
As someone who makes a great deal of use of the [ URL ] tag (almost as much as I use italics) I think this is a loss of functionality. The links needed to be made more distinctive not less.

Oh, but they are! You can select multiple titles, or even a bin containing multiple titles, and use the same File > Export > Title command. Premiere Pro will ask you where you want to save the first (and change the name, but it will default to the name given in the project), and then will automatically export all selected titles without further user intervention. You can import them en masse or in a folder (to create a bin automatically) into another project.

Why aren't Flash cookies cleared the first time I exit Firefox?

I am running XP, Firefox 16.0.1 and Flash Player 11.4.402.287 and have Firefox configured to "Clear history when Firefox closes", with "Cookies" (amongst other options) checked in the "Settings for Clearing History". I also have Flash Player configured to "Block all sites from storing information on this computer."
As I understand things, starting with Firefox 4 and Flash Player 10.3, having Firefox configured this way should cause Flash cookies to be deleted upon exiting Firefox. I also understand that even though I have Flash configured as I do, a list of sites that attempt to plant a Flash cookie will still be recorded in the main settings.sol cookie.
I have noticed, though, that this list of empty Flash cookies is not deleted the first time I exit Firefox; rather, the list is deleted after launching and then exiting Firefox again.
Here's a step-by-step example:
1) Control Panel -> Flash Player -> Storage tab -> Local Storage Settings by Site... button -> confirm that the list is empty
2) Exit the Flash Player Settings Manage
3) Launch Firefox -> go to www.hulu.com and click on a video to start it playing
4) Relaunch Control Panel -> Flash Player -> Storage tab -> Local Storage Settings by Site... button -> confirm that the list shows www.hulu.com, 0 bytes, Block
5) Exit the Flash Player Settings Manager
6) Exit Firefox
7) Relaunch Control Panel -> Flash Player -> Storage tab -> Local Storage Settings by Site... button -> NOTE THAT THE LIST STILL SHOWS www.hulu.com, 0 bytes, Block
8) Exit the Flash Player Settings Manager
9) Relaunch Firefox
10) Relaunch Control Panel -> Flash Player -> Storage tab -> Local Storage Settings by Site... button -> NOTE THAT THE LIST STILL SHOWS www.hulu.com, 0 bytes, Block
11) Exit the Flash Player Settings Manager

So again my question is - why isn't this list emptied the first time around?

Ok, so I created a new profile and followed the steps I spelled out in my first post several times - each time the Hulu flash cookie was cleared the first time I closed Firefox.
So what would you recommend I do next to get to the bottom of the behavior in my current profile? Should I go about disabling my extensions and plugins one by one and repeating the test each time?

ITunes in Japan - why aren't TV programs from the US available ?

Hello, iTune in Japan doesn't really cater for the expat non-Japanese community. For example, if during signup, you state your country is Japan, the only language offered is Japanese, and only Japanese shows are offered for download.
Why is it that we can not purchase TV Shows from the U.S. / U.K. or other English speaking locations ?

Chris is right. I live half the year in Japan, half in US and have absolutely seamless iTunes viewing and download service when in Japan simply by accessing American iTunes site. You tie your service to your American address and a US credit card. It's easy.
To elaborate on the why, it's related to why there are regional codes on DVDs. US media companies want to strictly control how and when each region views and purchases their products. This gives them more $. To get back to what Chris said, in the Japanese market the vast majority of subscribers want Japanese content (music, film), these are owned by Japanese media companies and providers who want to control their market (read "turf") as well. Thus the digital fences. I don't like it either but it makes sense business-wise.

No-one here speaks for Apple, so you're not going to get an answer (or, at least, not an authoritative one) to a question like "any one know why they don't fix the problem with itunes 12?". If you can post more details about "the problem", what version of iTunes and edition of Windows you're using, etc. then someone may be able to suggest a remedy or a workaround. If you want to alert Apple to a specific issue then you can use their feedback page to do so. If your iDevice is under warranty (or you are willing to pay) you can also contact Apple support and arrange to talk to someone from Apple.

Where are the diagnostic reports, or why aren't there any?

I understand that under mavericks, diagnostic reports are supposed to be found either in
/Library/Logs/DiagnosticReports/ (System Diagnostic Reports),
or in
~/Library/Logs/DiagnosticReports (User Diagnostic Reports).
Unfortunately, even after a number of crashes, they aren't. While in my case, the system DiagnosticReports folder exists, but contains nothing but powerstats, in the user library, not even the folder is there.
So, either they are elsewhere, or they aren't being generated. In the first case, my question would be: Where are the diagnostic reports? In the latter, it would be: Why aren't there any (despite the system crashes)?

These are logs to help if a program crashes, or has other issues.
If there are no issues, no logs are produced.

I would think that the forum is just a huge database of posts with a front end that formats the pages dynamically.
Apparently, a post can be addressed either from a global ID (URL#2) or from a board/boardID (URL#1). Same difference.

Disregard; I went back and tried for the 5th or 6th time and it seems to have posted. Jive software must being acting up again!

The forum likes to log me out for no reason just before replying to posts...I'm logged in, I click on the reply button, then BAM! I'm logged out. Happens many times in a row as well within the same session. It's quite maddening.

Mac OSX SUS - Why aren't the latest updates offered for some software

For instance, on my sus, Quicktime 7.6.4 is the latest version offered for leopard. 7.6.6 is available on Apple's site. Is there actually a 7.6.6 update others can see on their sus, or is this a universal issue - and why aren't the latest updates available?

I just checked my 10.6.3 SUS server at it appears to have that Quicktime 7.6.6 update listed. The size is listed as 68.5 MB and the post date is 03/30/10. My SUS Server Admin interface shows a "Last Check" time of Apr 13, 2010 3:00:00 AM.
I have wiped and reinstalled my SUS server several times dealing with the "missing 10.6.3" updates bug reported many times in these forums so that may be why my server is displaying the Quicktime 7.6.6 update.

Why are some of the forums locked? Could it be because the number of complains for service (the lack of), scams by stores - employees, placating that happens just to make a sale or general MISINFORMATION and a total disregard for their customers would question some of Verizon's tactics?

Could be varied reasons. The thread is outdated, the question was answered, there are off topic attacks, there are personal attacks on forum members, there could be spam posts, or off topic posts, cross posting over and over and the list could go on.

After all, you are quite happy to take peoples money for your app, the least you can do is to ensure it works.

Backing up and restoring is not the same as downgrading.
Apple have stopped signing 5.1.1 which is why you can't downgrade.

Next time an app update gets stuck try a reset. Press and hold both the home and power buttons for10-15 seconds till the Apple logo appears. Then release both buttons. Wait till your iPad starts on it's own. Try now. Also YouTube is still available. If you can't find it the the app store go to the bottom of the app store page and tap purchased. All your deleted apps will be listed and you can reinstall YouTube from there.

It's not clear from your post, but you do realise
that if you import a cd as a compilation, it will not
appear under artists? This is done to save the iPod
being cluttered up with single artists entries who
might have only one song listed.
I wasn't aware of that. It's true that I haven't been using the "compilation" tag for a long time. I've only started using it with iTunes 7 as otherwise with Coverflow I would have one album cover for each artist in a compilation. Before that my compilations weren't tagged as such as that is quite probably why each artist from compilations showed up when browsing by artists.

And all placement in which I highlighted in previous version of the book, it directs me to a completely different page and sentence in which I highlighted previously. And the frustrating is, I can't delete the false highlight.
