Why autoconfig should be run on dbTier first?

Hi,
Please let me know if their is any compulsion of running autoconfig on dbTier first and then to apps tier. If it is so then why? As per my understanding it is because autoconfig on dbTier updates some tables and that is required for running autoconfig on dbTier . But i really need to know specific answer to it. It would be gr8 if someone provide pointers(some metalink doc etc..)

Because there is a chance that the user might remember the url of a certain page and copy paste that one in the browser... in such type of scenarios also home page should come first
After i implemented Adf security in the redirect upon successful login i took the home.jspx page... but it is not going to home.jspx when i run some 'x' page and give the credentials for authentication.
This for our project they dont want to implement at taskflow level for each and every taskflow... is there any higher level where we can implement such feature because home page is common for all.

ORA-06508,ORA-06512, why I should re-connect and after that it runs well?

I have 2 package.
package A depends on B.
I call the package A in c++ code. At the begining, all work well.
I compile package B successfully.
But when I call package A in c++ code using a existing connection to the oracle, I get
ORA-06508: PL/SQL:

when I kill this session in database server side and re-connect to the database, it runs well.
what is wrong, why I should re-connect and then it runs well, and in the mean time, it does raise errors above if I use the old connection?

It appears sometimes. But sometimes it does not appear.
you can create 2 package.

A depends on b.
You can call the package A in the client side using c++ code.
then compile the b(do not change and code of b, just recompile it) successfully.
If you are lucky you can see the errors.

Why should we load header data first and then we load item level data?
Is there any particular reason?
Scenario: 1st I have uploaded 2LIS_11_VAHDR sales document header data from R/3 to BW by using LO-Cockpit extraction. Then I loaded 2LIS_11_VAITM.This is the norma procedure which we use to follow.
I have a question. If I load 2LIS_11_VAITM data 1st from R/3 to BW and then I will load 2LIS_11_VAHDR by using LO-Cockpit extraction. what will happen?

There is no difference in doing it the other way.
The load sequence will come into play only during activation where if you map the same fields from the two datasources, you might want to have the previous value overwritten by data from the next datasource.
That is when you should care about loading one datasource before the other.
To your question it is not arule that header data should come first.

My form is running on the Web. But now I am thinking that why that should run on the Web?.
Is there any document that I can read?.

I have a database in my canada office on VMS operating system and machine is Alpha. Right now I am using a unlimited Telephone line to connect my terminals from the US in my database in Canada. Its cots some thousands every month. Can I reuce this Cost if i convert my forms from COBOL to Forms 6i. Will that forms working using Internet. Does any one have any sample forms on the web may i see.

so my problem is:
I have table partitioned by range (no subpartition) on a DATE column per months. It has almost 100 partitions. I run a query on that table based on partition column:

where islem_tar between to_date('01/05/2012', 'dd/mm/yyyy') and to_date('14/07/2012', 'dd/mm/yyyy') -- ISLEM_TAR is my partition column.so, when I run this query from sql developer, query works parallel. I didnt just get execution plan via sql developer interface, first I used "EXPLAIN PLAN FOR" statement (which I always do, I dont use developer tools interfaces generally) then used developer interface (just to be sure) but I didnt satisfied and then I run the query and and get real execution plan via:
select * from table(dbms_xplan.display_cursor(sql_id => '7cm8cz0k1y0zc', cursor_child_info =>0, format=>'OUTLINE'));and the same execution plan again with PARALLELISM. so INDEXES and TABLE has no parallelism (DEGREE column in DBA_INDEXES and DBA_TABLES is set to 1).
as I know, if I'm wrong please correct me, there is no reason to oracle run this query as parallel (I also did not give any hint). so I worried and run the same steps in "plsql developer" and query runs noparallel (inteface, explain plan for, dbms_xplan.display_cursor). sqlplus autotrace was the same( just autotrace, didnt try others dbms_xplan etc.) Based on that, I decided sql developer is causing to this (*edit: but I was wrong TOAD did same thing*).
so I focused on sql developer and I disabled parallel query using:
alter session disable parallel query;then run the statement again and there were no Parallelism (expectedly).
so looked for execution plans:
I run query twice. one with normal, one with session disabled parallel query. and look for executed execution plan for both. (child 0 and 1)

When should you use dynamic sampling? DS is typically recommended when you know you are getting a bad execution plan due to complex predicates. However, you should try and use an alter session statement to set the value for OPTIMIZER_DYNAMIC_SAMPLING parameter as it can be extremely difficult to come up with a system-wide setting.
When is it not a good idea to use dynamic sampling? If the queries compile times need to be as fast as possible, for example, unrepeated OLTP queries where you can't amortize the additional cost of compilation over many executions.

It looks as if dynamic sampling hasn’t happened.
However, I “know” that dynamic sampling is supposed to happen unconditionally when you use a table-level hint – so I’m not going to stop at this point. There are cases where you just have to move on from explain plan (or autotrace) and look at the 10053 trace.
So the optimizer did do dynamic sampling, but then decided that it wasn’t going to use the results for this query.

Why aren't Flash cookies cleared the first time I exit Firefox?

I am running XP, Firefox 16.0.1 and Flash Player 11.4.402.287 and have Firefox configured to "Clear history when Firefox closes", with "Cookies" (amongst other options) checked in the "Settings for Clearing History". I also have Flash Player configured to "Block all sites from storing information on this computer."
As I understand things, starting with Firefox 4 and Flash Player 10.3, having Firefox configured this way should cause Flash cookies to be deleted upon exiting Firefox. I also understand that even though I have Flash configured as I do, a list of sites that attempt to plant a Flash cookie will still be recorded in the main settings.sol cookie.
I have noticed, though, that this list of empty Flash cookies is not deleted the first time I exit Firefox; rather, the list is deleted after launching and then exiting Firefox again.
Here's a step-by-step example:
1) Control Panel -> Flash Player -> Storage tab -> Local Storage Settings by Site... button -> confirm that the list is empty
2) Exit the Flash Player Settings Manage
3) Launch Firefox -> go to www.hulu.com and click on a video to start it playing
4) Relaunch Control Panel -> Flash Player -> Storage tab -> Local Storage Settings by Site... button -> confirm that the list shows www.hulu.com, 0 bytes, Block
5) Exit the Flash Player Settings Manager
6) Exit Firefox
7) Relaunch Control Panel -> Flash Player -> Storage tab -> Local Storage Settings by Site... button -> NOTE THAT THE LIST STILL SHOWS www.hulu.com, 0 bytes, Block

Ok, so I created a new profile and followed the steps I spelled out in my first post several times - each time the Hulu flash cookie was cleared the first time I closed Firefox.
So what would you recommend I do next to get to the bottom of the behavior in my current profile? Should I go about disabling my extensions and plugins one by one and repeating the test each time?

Thanks for these suggestions: I have tried safe mode re-starts (both "verbose" and simple "shift" + power) to no avail. I get the error message "disk0s2: media is not present". Following this I inserted the installation disc and from there ran disc utility. The "Verify Disk" indicated an error " invalid sibling link" which it could not repair.
I also tried to completely re-format/erase the disk, but again got an error message "disk object invalid or unable to serialize".
Any ideas of what could be causing this or the best solution? I fear I am fast running out of options.

Group currency is unique at client level, i.e. this is same for all company codes.

Check the currency of your client.
This currency comes by default for group currency and you can't give as your own.
If you have any requirement, then you can give it as third local currency.
Also remember third local currency you have to maintain at first country level.

Erase the datalog file when the exe is running for the first time.

I've a req something like this...
Please assist me so that i could hit the right target.
A datalog.txt file would be appended with the data everytime i run the exe.
However if i close (be specific not stop) the entire exe
And run the exe after opening it for the first time, it should ask me wehther to delete or append the existing datalog file.
In short whenever running the exe for the first time it should ask the user whether to delete the existing datalog.txt or append the old one.
THis is my req please help me...

You can use an uninitialized shift register, that you wire with a TRUE on the right side. Its output on the left will only be false the first time the VI is run and true for subsequent runs.
Still, an exe should always run. Design it as as a proper state machine with an idle state when you don't what it to perform anything specific.

Scheduled tasks run fine at first then stop running

This has been an ongoing issue with every Server 2012 machine that we have running tasks (a buddy of mine has the same issue with 2008 R2). At first the task will run fine as it should but then out of the blue it will simply stop running. The
last run time could be months ago and the next run time will be the normal scheduled time to run. Last run result is always 0x0. There is also nothing in the history tab as I assume it's been too long ago since the last time it ran.
I can't figure out what's keeping these tasks from properly triggering and running. Now before anyone starts going down a list of settings I should check that I might have goofed up, remember, these run fine at first and which jobs stop running properly
are completely random. Also, some of these tasks are Microsoft generated tasks like Windows Backup:
This happens on MS tasks as well as my own tasks that run fine at first but then just stop. The only fix on a per task basis that I've been able to come up with is to delete the job and create it from scratch where it will then work forever or get
stuck. It's completely random.
I would greatly appreciate any help on this matter as it's driving me absolutely nuts.

I had the same issue. This is what I was told to do.
iWork has to be removed completely to be effective when re-installing, you must use an application removal tool to do this or it wont remove every Keynote file.
Appcleaner   will do this and its free.
The following procedure has helped solve many issues with Keynote:
1 Close Keynote then use Appcleaner
2 Empty the Trash
3 Shut down the Mac, then restart and press the shift key immediately after the startup sound, then release shift when the Apple logo appears
          allow the Mac to boot up to the desktop, it will take longer then usual as the hard drive is being repaired
4 restart the Mac
5 Reinstall iWork
6 Repair permissions:
          Applications > Utilities > Disk Utility > First Aid:   click on your system disc in the drive column
          and select Repair Disk Permissions
7 open Keynote and test
