Why background job sometimes doesn't create something while manually we can

Hi friends,
Can you help me to understand why Background job doesn't create Outbound Delivery where as manually we can create using VL10B with parameters same as that of the background job variant? The background job calls the program for VL10B.
Thanks,
Rana

I have a similar problem on a SAP IS RETAIL site with VL10B.
I have reviewed several notes and the solution should be in using VL10BATCH with a list profile created via VL10CUA.
The list profile should be a copy of :
5002 Run purchase orders in background
into Z002 purchase orders in background
and specify that the F CODE PROFILE is 5001 RUN DELIVERY LIST
The create a variant from VL10BATCH and with the USER ROLE : Z002 (just created above).
Let me know if this helps you.
Sincerely,
Richard ITHIER

  • Background job not run properly

    Hi,
When an infopackage is triggred through process chain in BI a background job will be exeuted at R/3 to fetch data from R/3.
But the bakground job did not execute properly hat is it did not fetch any data but ot finished.
But when the infopackage is executed manually the background job fetches the data from R/3.
Why the job is not fetching data when triggered through process chain.
Please help me to sole this issue.
    Regards,
    Indhu

    Hi Induja,
In your case, you will have to debug the background job that is activated through BI. Check if proper data is coming from BI.
You can only debug a background job if it is created under your user id. Thus, to debug the job you first have to own it and then debug by selecting it and either typing 'JDBG' in the command field or through menus available on the top.
Job overview transaction code - SM37.
Hopefully the issue is in Development/Test/Quality system and not in Production.
    Hope that helps!.

Sorry about the necro, but did you ever figure this out?  I'm running into the same issue.  I think *something* is being written because when I do "efibootmgr -c blahblah", and then I do an efibootmgr -v afterward, I can see the device path that shows up in the verbose options.  Then, when I reboot, I don't see the new boot option in the menu, and when I check again via a livecd (which boots via UEFI, by the way), efibootmgr -v shows "Vendor(99e275e7-75a0-4b37-a2e6-c5385e6c00cb,)" in the extra info next to the boot option I had previously created.  That vendor and GUID seem to show up when there's no path, as I've googled it and have seen similar readouts that imply such based on the context of where I saw them.
    Anyway, help.
    Thanks.

If we see the maually the log report for FFID then below error message is displayed.

Can anyone guide me to solve the issue.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
once chk the status of the job by selecting that and check job status(cltr+shift_f12)
since it was periodically scheduled job there will be a RELEASED job after every active job..
so try to copy that into another job using copy option and give some new name which u have to remember...
the moment u copy u can find the same copied job in SCHEDULED status...
from here, try to run it again on hourly basis....
After copying the job u can unschedule the old released job to scheduled otherwise 2 will run at a time...

  • Schedule background job

There is a background job that currently runs every 1 min.

    Hi,
for this fm is used 148 times in our system, I made a check program and it works:
    report  zsbatchfm.

      write:  /1 'STEPCOUNT = ', xv_stepc.
    endif.
                                                                                    commit work.
In online mode you get a SUBRC = 1, in batch mode you get the informations (here: in SPOOL)
Please check it on your system!

  • Download ALV result list as excel-file in background job

    Dear Experts,
I am looking for a possibily to download the result of an ALV based report as excel-file in a background job. Surely there is a standard function which can be used or at least some hints how to implement this. I searched the forum but couldn't find a thread which was covering this problem exactly.
    Thanks in advance
    Benjamin

    Dear Mr. Krapf,
it is possible to output an ALV list to an Excel file in the background but there are some limitations.
    Please consider the following notes:
#7925  Graphics, Upload, Download do not work in backgrnd
#65050 Data types and file formats in files (DATASET)
#145073 - FAQ Report Writer: Excel download
#569537 - Incorrect data during import into Excel
#590126  Sending CSV documents up to Release 4.6
Please be aware that they are all Basis notes. So for more information you might ask in the Basis SDN Forum.

  • Offset Path doesn't create a separate path

    Mac CS6
Seems like my Illustrator is bugging out. When I apply offset path to the compound object Illustrator doesn't create a separate path for me, but both the offset and original somehow bundle together:
    https://www.dropbox.com/s/xiu3xqcictx0ku0/Offset_problem_1.png
I'm trying to create an effect like this tutorial on youtube. But since offset path doesn't create a separate path, I can't duplicate the same effect.
Any clue on how to fix this would be appreciated.

Did you use the Object>Path method or Effects>Path method? Here's the difference

  • Backup of background jobs after system refresh

    Hi All,
I want to know that during the system refresh how can we take the backup of the background jobs which are in "Released" state so that we can schedule them the same way after the refresh is done. Presently we are taking the screen shot of "start condition" and "step" of each and every job and then using those screenshots we are scheduling them again after the refresh is completed. It would be really helpful and time saving for us if we come to know the tables where this information is stored and also if there is any other easier way for this.
    Regards,
    Lovneesh

    Hello,
Check the below thread. It mentions all the tables that contain batch job information.
    https://scn.sap.com/thread/1709175

    BTCCTL,
    BTCDELAY
    BTCEVTJOB
    BTCH1000
    BTCH1010
    TBTCO
    TBTCP
These have all the information you need regarding background jobs, you may export these tables at the source and import them "
    Check and provide feedback.

  • Can we change the selection criteria for RV60SBAT Background Job for Billin

We have a requirement to add a new selection criteria for RV60SBAT Background Job for Billing. We want to process back order invoices first. So we want a specific background job to select these. So we want to select any orders that are eligible to be invoiced where order date < the date of background job(r sy-datum ). Any ideas where we can introduce this logic for selection criteria?
    Thanks,
       Matt

    Hi Matt
For your requirement , copy the standard  RV60SBAT program to Z program and in that copied RV60SBAT program , maintain the logic that the backorder invoices should be first processed. Then after that regular background job for billing should take happen .Then your requirement can be fulfilled

  • Identifying the Inspection lot created automatically and manually

    Dear all,
An Inspection lot can be created automatically or manually. Can anyone please tell how the Inpection lot can be identified as manual created or automatically created one? Please advice, thanks.
    Regards,
    Brijesh

    Hi,
You can  create inspection lots manually for all inspection lot origins except
    the following
10   Delivery to customer with sales order
11   Delivery to customer without sales order
      12   General delivery
      13   Repetitive manufacturing
      14   Plant maintenance
When you create an inspection lot manually, you cannot reference an original document (for
example, a goods receipt document, an order, or a delivery note)

  • DYNPRO_SEND_IN_BACKGROUND when submitting a background job, when creating a

    Hi.
We create sales orders via EDI.   When certain sales orders are created, we execute user exists on the Sales Order save.  During the User Exit, we submit/create (job_open_adk function, the submit command, and the job_close_adk function) a background job.
The background, is created and executed successfully, but we get 2
    short dumps everytime.
    The short dump is:
    DYNPRO_SEND_IN_BACKGROUND
    The description is:
Screen output without connection to user.
The short dump is for the user WF-BATCH.
I've used DEBUG and the shortdump occurs on the submit command.
    submit zsd
    to sap-spool
    destination 'null'
    immediately ''
    keep in spool 'X'
    without spool dynpro
    and return
    user l_user via job tbtcjob-jobname
    number tbtcjob-jobcount
    with p_vbeln = l_order
    with p_ebeln = l_po
    with p_uname = l_user.
Nothing should be displayed on the screen.
I used 'without spool dynpro' to prevent the 'Print Screen List' window
    from appearing.
I've put this code into a TEST program. I ran the test program
myself. (under my ID) The program run perfectly. No
    shortdump.
Similar code is used in other programs and it works perfectly - no shortdumps.
The short dump occurs when we use ALE/EDI to create a sales order.
The short dump has the ID WF-BATCH on it.
I'm guessing the problem is with the WF-BATCH ID. Are printer setting
missing on a Work Flow ID?
Any ideas why the 'without spool dynpro' parameter doesn't work for the
    WF-BATCH ID?
I've tried searching OSS and I looked at the on-line help/documentation
on Submit. I saw a recommentation to use the
fuction 'GET_PRINT_PARAMETERS' to set all of the print parameters. I
tried this, but still got the short dumps.
Any suggestion on how I can run the Submit command and not get a short dump?
    thanks,
    Michelle
