Why can i browse most websites, but not others?

Basically, I am trying to access few websites and when I try opening them it is constantly loading but won't open.. I could access these websites last night, but for some reason they won't load now. There is no error message, but keeps on loading. I use google chrome, but the same problem persists with Safari and Firefox. I have connection to the internet and I can access a majority of other websites at usual speed. When i leave the 'problem' websites loading for some time i can see that after 10 minutes or so the website partially opens but other parts remain blank and thus remains unusable. I cleared all my cookies, history, cache and everything. Reset my modem. Tried browsing the internet for solutions but nothing seems to work and other solutions are too technical for me to understand.

Assuming you mean wireless rather than through ethernet:
Try the basics first:
Change your router channel number. Most times this works & is all you have to do.
Disconnect & reconnect your modem. unplug it for about 10 seconds. Plug it back in. Do the same for Apple’s routers. Wait for everything to reboot.
System Preferences>Network
Click the Assist Me button.
In the next window that pops up, click the Diagnostic button & do the necessary.

Thanks for the response. Must be smart phones. My daughter has a dumb phone and she can send out. I tried deleting my text messages on the Verizon website, but they won’t delete. It must be on their end. Chat line was busy forever, until they shut it down.

I am using iTunes 11.0 and can sync a movie (Miracle on 34th Street) to my new ipod nano 7th gen but when I try a TV Show (a Planet Earth HD episode) or even a brief video clip taken with my camara I am told that such an action is not permitted on this ipod. So why can I sync a movie but not TV shows on my nano (7th gen)? Thank you.

Before you can sync video files, it must be converted into a format compatible with ipod. If you can’t sync a video convert it by doing the following:
In iTunes, select the video you want to convert. Do one of the following then sync again after:
1) Choose File > Create New Version > Create iPod or iPhone Version.
2) Choose File > Create New Version > Create iPad or Apple TV Version.
I hope this works.

Very strange, [email protected] Let's get this figured out. Make sure that SMS messages are turned on. Go to Settings>Messages>Send as SMS. Please let me know if this works.

Thanks for taking the time. Unfortunately no that does not solve it. Same as swipe it will get me there and it will show separate programs spaced out. The issue I am having is that all my open word files are bunched up in a pile on top of each other. I can see the edges of each one but I want them to be separated from each other enough that I can visually identify what file is what.

Safari on OSX 10.5.2 - can run most websites but not google, gmail

Hi - all of a sudden about 24 hours ago, my Safari browser stopped being able to pull up google.com or gmail.com. The server just times out. This is happening on a few other random sites I tried, but most are working (nytimes, wsj, other sites..). I have cleared all of my browsing history/cache/cookies and spoke to my ISP (time warner) but they insist it is not their issue since my internet connection is fine. Anyone have any ideas? (Also - there are two Macs in my apt. It happened to both at the same time, so the issue is not computer specific.) Please help! Thanks.

Hi, I am experiencing the exact same problem here in the UK, where anything google related will not load, have re-set safari etc but no change. same problem with firefox. if you find a fix please let me know!!
Same here in the UK, too. Have reset safari, trashed all safri plists. Get the same with opera and firefox on some sites and on different mac. Did cure it temporilary by hard resetting router (a draytek 2800). When the problem is there it can't safari can't load some sites but loads lots of others quickly. If you are in the UK, who is your ISP incase there it is them? Mine's talktalk

I'm running an iBook G4 with 10.4.8 on it. My DSL internet connection is through an apartment server, requiring its own manual network configuration to work. That is the easy part...it took a week to figure out the proxies (the local staff and their command of english is Ok but not that good) and I got Firefox up and running. It has been working great for a month.
But one thing is puzzling me, why can't Safari see that I have a functioning DSL internet connection? I am using the same manual configuration for the connection and I have made sure that every program that needs this connection can see it. This problem is, in fact, bigger than just Safari. None of my Apple programs (including Network Diagnostics), Yahoo Messenger or Google Earth can see my working internet connection. I'm perplexed! Any ideas?

It sounds like your Bluetooth device is connected during playback of these videos. Try changing the audio source to iPhone or disconnect the Bluetooth device when playing videos.

Why can I connect to test but not to friends

Sigh.
My on going issues with iChat continues. Basically we have all but given up and for many weeks have just not bothered using our 'it just works' video chat.
One question that keeps popping up is why can I connect to the apple test, why can my friends connect to the apple test, but why can we not connect to each other?
More over we could all connect to each other prior to 10.4, no hardware or ISP has changed.
I do appreciate the amount of help coming out of these boards, especially from Ralph, but the question has to be asked yet again, what are apple doing about this issue, everything was just fine with iChat in 10.3, I know I am not alone.
Anyway if anyone can offer advice on why a ZOOM X4 router/modem or a Draytek Vigor 2600 does not work correctly or anyone is able to use these modems I would appreciate a reply. I would also like info on setting them up, even though they were just fine before.

Possibly SIP aware and causing these problems.
Symptoms:
A small group of Buddies that you can connect to all the time.
Another small group of Buddies you can connect to now and then.
Depending on the size of your Buddy list, a larger group of non successful contacts.

For the Zoom I looked at this page I can not see that this has the UPnP setting which would be easiest to set up.
The page tells you and shows you what the set up pages look like to achieve Port Forwarding.

Why does the flash player work on some website but not others??

I have the new flash player, and for the most part the player will work on some web sites. However I like to be on myspace and it says that I have to install the new version of the flash player. However I ALREADY have the new verison. There are other site that I go to as well and it tells me the same thing. what is going on and how can I fix it. I had the same issue when I had created Flash Paper items. I had found the a solution on my opinion.

you actually need a Flash Movie Player and not Flash Player. they are different. the only issue is that Adobe does not support this anymore.
so what I did is placed the EXE file of Flash Movie Player found on the link above on my server, made a note to my viewers that Flash Movie Player is required to view the documents.

Why can i only recieve iMessage but not regular text messages?

All today, my phone has not been delivering me my regular, green text messages from anyone. But my phone will deliver me my iMessages, blue texts from my friends with iPhones. A message did pop up saying that my SMS mailbox was full and that I needed to delete messages before my messages would be received, but I went through and deleted over 400 SMS messages and that usually does the trick and the undelivered messages pour in.
Why is this happening and how can I fix it?

Flash works on some websites but not others

I have been struggling with some Flash player issues for a
while. Most of these were, I believe, due to a spyware infection
that I have since resolved. I have tried to uninstall and reinstall
the player plugin several times. I have gotten to the point where
the Flash player plugin works for nearly every website I can find,
in Firefox and in IE7. The only thing that does not work is when I
go to ESPN.com while using my university wireless network
connection -- certain Flash-related aspects of this page show error
messages or do not show at all. After having visited this site,
even when I use my laptop computer on a different wireless network
connection, this site is always corrupted in this fashion. When I
uninstall the Flash player plugin and reinstall it, these aspects
of ESPN's website function properly, but only when I am not using
my university connection.
All other websites seem to be fine, but ESPN is a site I
visit a lot and I'm at a loss as to what to do. I have never had a
problem installing the player, and I use WIndows XP Home so I have
not used the SubinACL program to fix my Windows system registry.
I've read and tried most of the other solutions in this forum and
they do not seem to solve my specific problem. Any help anyone
could give would be appreciated.

Why is AS3 underlining certain fonts but not others (all of which are pretty common)?

     I have a simple question that hopefully has a simple answer (which mocks me with its elusiveness). In the code below (taken from Gary Rosenzweig's "ActionScript 3.0 Game Programming University" (2nd ed.)), I am declaring a simple style sheet using all AS3 supported tags/attributes to underline an HTML link. My question is this: why won't AS3 underline the chosen font (Arial) but yet it will underline certain other fonts that I substitute it for (such as "Times New Roman" and "Garamond")?

     You see what I mean? I knew it would be a simple answer - it had to be, right? That way when someone helped me figure it out, I would get the pleasure of kicking myself for not having seen it before. I tried temporarily disabling the default text (thinking maybe it was somehow interfering with the style sheet), ensuring that I had the fonts that I was trying to use embedded in my program, including all the formatting in the actual style sheet rather than some of it resting in the default text statement, and did a couple other things that now escape my memory. What I didn't do was change the font size to see if it was simply cutting off the underscore. Sure I thought about it, but didn't actually follow it up.
     What makes this worse is that, in the book I referenced, the author doesn't say anything about having to change the font size for this particular application and goes further by demonstrating via inline image his "perfect" outputted result using the exact code that I did. I know this threw off other readers as well who tried to emulate his result only to find that the underline magically "disappeared" when they did it.

Can connect on one Mac but not other Mac, PC

I just moved and I had no problem connecting my Powerbook,iMac, and PC with my Airport Express in my last house. I have the same cable provider (Charter) and can connect my Powerbook in my new house. However, I have a iMac too with an Airport card and my girlfriend has a PC and both can't connect to the AE. They both see it but can't connect to the internet. I had no problem in my last house with any of the 3. Can anyone help? thanks

I don't mean to hijack, but I have very similar problems. My AE is flashing amber, but my 15"PB is online no problem. My roommates both have pcs, and neither can get internet from the AE, but they can connect and authenticate the WEP. When I choose to distribute using 192... (or the other number schemes) the internet stops for everyone, including my PB and the AE assigns an ip of 192.168.1.1 to itself (when working for PB:169:254:128:58). I am in San Diego, CA using Warner (I believe just a DHCP provider, no special instructions when they installed it 3 days ago)

I have run spyware scanners, virus scanners, checked to make sure my net settings in firefox are fine, nothing works, restarted my router, reinstalled firefox, checked for updates, disabled all plugins, renabled some, cheeck for plug in updates...nothing works.
