Why can I download some movies to my iPad but not my PC?

I have purchased several movies on iTunes. However, more then a couple will download fine to my iPad or iPhone but will not download to my iTunes on my PC. Why is this. How can I fix this? I want to save them to my harddrive so if I ever loose internet or Apple ever goes under I still have my purchases. Any solutions?

Check to make sure they are not on the computer already. You can transfer the purchases from your iPad to your computer. Double check with the steps outlined in the articles below to ensure that you get your movies to your computer.

Here are a couple of things that you can try.
Make sure that you do not have a stalled download in iTunes - a song or podcast .... if you have a download in there that did not finish, complete that one first. Only one thing can download at a time on the iPad so that could be what is causing the problem.
If that doesn't work - sign out of your account, restart the iPad and then sign in again.
Settings>Store>Apple ID. Tap your ID and sign out. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Go back to Settings>Store>Sign in and then try to update again.

I'm not sure what you mean by "helpers". This is a user-to-user support forum. Lots of people do lots of helping.
You're also going to need to explain your problem in a little more detail. If you mean why do some iPads have cameras and some don't, well, that's because Apple didn't include one in the first generation. All the subsequent models have them.

Ok. That's strange. The download should show up immediately in the lower right. Even if it is stuck, you will se the red number. So something is blocking the purchase. Take a look at setting, restrictions, and see if something there is turned on that might be blocking you.

I redeemed Digital Copies of several movies to my iCloud via my Mac. Now I want to download some to my kids' iPads, but no "download" button appears even though the movie is listed as "purchased" in my iTunes account. A fair number of other people have posted about the same problem over the last few days, I assume that there is a problem at Apple's end which they need to fix.
You could try logging out of your accont on the iPad by tapping on your id in Settings > Store and then log back in and see if that makes any difference.

You'll have to use 3rd Party software to convert the movies into an readable format. Check this article: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2729
After that you can add the movie to your iTunes library and sync it to your device.

Try closing iTunes and reset your iPad. After the iPad starts up, try the download again.
To close an app, drag the app up from the multitasking display. Double tap the home button and you will see apps lined up going left to right across the screen. Swipe to get to the iTunes app then swipe "up" on the app preview thumbnail to close it.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

Yes I tried that. I finally turned off all home sharing settings, shut down my desktop and found them in my account settings in the store on the cloud. So at that point I just had it download everything. But I suspect that with the ipad somehow being on, the store was saying I had already received them? I had the same question as was asked here, and I see that if I turn off my Wi-Fi on my iPad I can no longer access the iTunes Extras. However, if the extras are streaming-based, why is the file size of movies with Extras so much larger than those without? Any other HD movie with a similar running time is between 1.5 and 2.5GB, all with Extras are between 3.5 and 5GB. The problem isn't the Extras, its the lack of space on my iPad.

Try it again now. This was a system error on Apple's end....the message had nothing to do with what was wrong (and there was nothing wrong with your setup or system).
This started working again at about 8pm CST for me.
This affected rentals and purchases (for me it was on iTunes through my computer hard wired to a network).
If you look at the error message you'll notice that its a mix of upper case and lower case words and the message itself actually doesn't make much sense - my guess is that it was a meaningless error message created by developers during testing before....just a guess.

Hi have an ipad 2 which has always worked great, until I upgraded to iOS 7 and now I can't transfer my movies to the ipad from iTunes.
I have restored my ipad to factory settings and have tried copying movies and still no joy. To make the matter even more annoying I have tried to contact apple support and I need to pay a £25 charge as I am out of warranty for a problem that apple have caused.

That's a very helpful description of the problem and now. I wish I could be as helpful in return. Unfortunately, I know next to nothing about syncing home movies or personal videos. I have synced several of my own, but it always went without issue.
Some basic things that I can think of are ....
Where are the movies residing in iTunes on your computer? If they have been imported into the movies library then they should appear in the Videos app when you sync. If they were imported into the photos folder, they could be in the photos app, but I assume that you checked that already.
You did say this was a new problem so can I assume that the movies were appearing in the videos app?
I have read where some users reclassified videos in order to get them to sync. After using the Get Info command in iTunes, they would classify a video as a TV show for example in order to get to sync. Forgive my ignorance on this, but like I said, I have very limited experience with this and I am trying to recall exactly what the process was.
If nothing else, my comments will bump your post up again and hopefully somebody that knows what they are talking about will chime in.
