Why can i import an omf in pyramix but not in audition?

i simply cannot import an omf file into audition cs6 (with the latest updates). i can open the same file in pyramix no problem...........what am i doing wrong.....or is it the software failing to deliver?
the result is having to abandon audition (my preferred daw) in favour of an overcomplex but workable alternative.

Oh but they can and there is one - AES31 (an ADL for the uninitiated) a nice simple text readable standard which is only implemented (poorly) by a few DAWS. Unfortunately, Avid/Dodgy told the world to jam AES31 up their ginger because they had the standard to beat all standards - OMF1. A format that was so complex and delivered so little but that didn't matter - when the 'industry standard' (LOL) DAW talks everyone must obey.
But hang on - it couldn't be such a good standard because they came out with OMF2 which was much better because it was even more complex but again that didn't matter because Avid products would use the undocumented areas of this complex format to pass info between only their products.
Well the world struggled with this for a long time with DAWs doing the best to read and write this horrendously complex and dubious format and it was then the the powers that be decided that this was no good some other 'non-industry standard' daws were actually able to use some variants of the OMF format so they thought that because they run the show they could get together and come up with a format that was not only more complex but would actually deliver less and see if they could get away with it - you betcha and that was where AAF comes in.
Bottom line is that there is no 'standard' allowed unless it's an Avid/Dodgy one and they really aren't interesed in one - remember everyone has to be 'PT compatible' (what a joke!)

Microsoft builds software to run on other companies' hardware, pretty much exclusively if you don't count the long line of failed devices: Zune, Windows phone, and now the Surface.
Apple builds hardware. They support that hardware with their own operating system. It is designed to run only on their very tightly integrated hardware. Trying to write software for the plethora of crap being sold would be a failing proposition and would divert resources away from the great software they provide for their hardware customers.
The hardware and software are very well engineered to provide the best possible experience.
If you want to experience a Mac, buy a Mac.

Why can I see other peoples' WiFi networks but not my own?

This is a problem that started when an engineer came to replace our TV's set top box as well as our router a few weeks ago. I'll run through everything in quick bullet-point form...
-My flatmates are able to see and connect to our network with no issues at all on their XP laptops.
I, on the other hand, can not see or connect to our network at all. However, I am able to see other WiFi networks.
-Days of rebooting and replugging the router, my iMac and AirPort card prove fruitless.
-Throughout all this, the router is sat on top of the set top box, which is sat on top of the TV. I move the router down so its sat next to the TV and a plant. I'm able to see and connect to our network with no issues.
-Three weeks later, the problem has returned. I can't see our network but my flatmates aren't affected.
-Thinking it may just be poor reception in my room, I set up my Mac in the front room a couple of feet away from the router. I detect other networks, but still not my own.
-More unplugging and rebooting later, hallelujah, I can see and connect to our network. I take the Mac back to my room and try from there. No luck. The familiar XBoxLive8973498374, BT-HomeHub8934897, TalkTalk439847 (etc) and Sofia networks come up in my networks list as usual but not our own SpeedTouch459873439847 (etc).
We have a Thomson ST 585 router and I have an iMac G4 with the original AirPort card. Short of buying a new router, does anyone have any ideas as to why this is happening and how to fix it?

Our network is the one labelled SpeedTouch. As you can see, my AirPort antenna seems to be working perfectly. However, the SpeedTouch connection (and only the Speedtouch connection) would be lost intermittently for several minutes at a time.

The SpeedTouch signal strength is obviously not as strong but still reasonable. I don't seem to have any issues anymore; I can see, connect and stay connected to our network with no real problem - but I haven't changed any settings on the router.

Why can I only change chapter and Audio, but not subtitles?

I have a little problem, and I don't understand WHY it should be a problem.
I have started ripped all my movies into a local computer for home sharring. We have some Apple TVs in the house and everything works well for ripping and watching movies.
All our movies has been ripped in HandBrake and thereafter metatagged in MetaX. In Handbrake I choose the standard A TV 2, which languages I want and which subtitles I want.. The funny part is, that When I try to watch the movie in either iTunes or Apple TV, it is only possible for me to select chapter and Audio. I am sure I am not the first one to experience this, so if somebody could tell me if I do anything wrong? Or is it just iTunes and Apple TV that won't let you change more that 2 different data?
i have tried to rip a movie without any chapters (a very short movie) and then it was possible for me to change the subtitles, but nothing else.. I donøt understand it and it is very confusing.. :/ Please help somebody.. Just tell me if it is my fault or it is Apple's fault..

Why can I see photos in photo view, but not in event view. The event shows up, but when I open the event, it says there are no photos in the event. The only way I can actually open a photo in the event is to be in photo view, and open the photo from that view.

Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one. .

I tried Peggy's List > Select All > Copy > Paste into an AW spreadsheet suggestion.
In my case, pasting into the spreadsheet lost all text formatting (mostly text set to bold). The results of formulas were pasted, and checkboxes were pasted as "on" or "off". The DB did not contain any pop-up menus or radio buttons, but I expect they would transfer as a number showing the list position of the chosen item.
Pasting the copied List view data into a Numbers table gave a result similar to that with AppleWorks. I selected B2 as the target cell (for top left cell of the pasted data) to avoid any effects of posting into a header row or column. Bold and regular text formatting looked the same as it had in AW's List view.
Based on that, I'd slip the 'paste into an AppleWorks Spreadsheet step, and paste directly into a Numbers Table.

I am using version iPhoto'11. Since I installed this version I experience some difficulties. After importation of pictures I can see the pictures under Library/Pictures but not under Library/Events. However I can see the event with the event title, the number of pictures and the pictures itselve as small thumbnails. BUt ounce I want to open the event to see the pictures in full screen the event title annouces 0 pictures and no pictures are visble anymore to mee. I have checked if the pictures are marked as hidden and this is not the case. What's going wrong. All the other events are visible in a normal way.
The albums with the same pictures into them are visible.

Make a temporary, duplicate copy of the library and try the two fixes below in order as needed:
Fix #1
1 - delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your Home/Library/Preferences folder.
2 - delete iPhoto's cache files that are located in your Home/Library/Caches/com.apple.iPhoto folder.
3 - reboot, launch iPhoto and try again.
NOTE: If you're moved your library from its default location in your Home/Pictures folder you will have to point iPhoto to its new location when you next open iPhoto by holding the the Option key. You'll also have to reset the iPhoto's various preferences.
Fix #2
Launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys depressed and follow the instructions to rebuild the library. Select options #1, #2 and #6.

- What happens when you try? Error message?
- Is the email addrese listed on her iPod in Settings>Messages>Send and receive?
- Is the same email address listed on your device in Settings>Messages>Send and Receive? If so it will not work.
