Why can I not dualboot into Windows 7 anymore?

About 5 months ago I installed Windows 7 onto a 250GB partition via bootcamp. I kept 500GB for my mac partition and havent had any problems since. Ive been able to restart into Windows and go back into OSX perfectly. About an hour ago I was reading something in Windows and out of nowhere all my windows closed and the computer restarted into OSX. This doesnt happen every day so I restarted and held option while it was starting up to go back into the Windows partition. The bootcamp partition that usually holds Windows 7 wasnt there so I went into OSX and went into finder to check if the partition was still there, it wasnt. I have checked in finder, about this mac (under storage), and even terminal using the directories in there but nothing. In disk utility it shows my OSX partition as having 500GB and then a second partition called 'disk0s2' as having 209MB but no bootcamp partition (it doesnt show anything about the other 250GB). So for the part hour I have been searching for something similar but I have only found other problems. Help??

If it were me I would try to start from the Windows install dvd and run Startup repair.

You stated earlier that you had already deleted the "madrid" .plist with no effect.
Can I check you did this with the app closed down or at least restarted the app straight afterwards ?
If you did that close the app if open and access the ~/Library/Preferences folder again.
This time delete com.apple.imessage.bag.plist
This item stores the Apple server used for your Login to the iMessages server and contains a date/time reference.
Restarting the app after deleting this file will make it reconnect with the iMessages servers in a fresh manner which my solve things.
It may sort out any date/time issues with the stored date.
Messages is one of the app that Apple have "Sandboxed".
This means that some of it's operations are held away from other apps to prevent one app bringing down several others.
This is turn means that the route or path used by the app to Read and Write to the various .plists is different to the direct placing in ~/Library/Preferences.
The Path is ~/Library/Containers/com.apple.iChat/Data/Library/Preferences
Mostly the items in here are then Aliases that point to the actual originals in ~/Library/Preferences. However there are exceptions.
You can copy and paste the Path above in to the Finder > Go Menu > Go to Folder dialogue box to access this folder.
Once there use the Finder's View Menu > Show Path Bar.
This adds a collection of folders across the bottom of the Finder window.
Right click on the Preferences folder at the right hand list of the Path.
Chose the Get Info option.
In the Info panel scroll to the Bottom.
Your Shortname should appear (with (Me) as well) and you should have Read and Write Permissions
If you highlight this and then use the Cogwheel type iCon it should reveal you shortname again but in Greyed out form which mean you Own the File/folder
Repeat this for each containing folder until the Library item on the left (you don't need to do the Little House icon one)
You should have Read an Write Permissions and Own all of them.

Complaint: Why can I not download a Windows 8.1 ISO on Mac?

I have been sent here by you customer service team to make a complaint.
I have recently purchased Windows 8.1 pro student as a download. I need this for university and was planning on boot camping my mac to do this. I am told the only way to download this product is with a windows machine. I have tried at work but need administrator
privileges also.
This is simply a ridiculous system that you need the operating system that you are downloading to make the download occur. You should be able to download an iso file or the like. I have ordered a backup media (obviously at my expense).
The customer service people I spoke to were very unhelpful. Also this process of complaints is poor. Why can i not talk to someone re a complaint?

Why can I not resize Finder windows by grabbing any side or corner

I love my Macs and Leopard having used PCs for 15 years. But one annoyance of the Mac OS is the inability to resize a window by grabbing any side or corner like I can do in MS Windows.
Being able to resize a Mac OS window by having to grab the lower right corner is a very limiting especially when I have a number of windows open at one time. I would think with all of Apple's sophistication that this would be a simple convenience to add.
Are there any utilities out that that add this functionality to Leopard?

Sounds to me like an attack in desparate defence of OS X instead of constructive discussion.
I also regularly use both, professionally, but there are things that Windows does better than OS X, and there is no reason why OS X could not improve. For example, why can I not selectively remove (i.e. completely destroy) files from my trash?

Why can I not open 2 windows (playlists) to view playlist and library at same time

I cannot open a separate playlist window at the same time I am viewing my library as I have been able to in all previous versions. I want to see all my songs in a separate window, plus a playlist open that I can drag and drop into. Or maybe 2 playlists open. Is this not possible any longer. i want to be able to have different playlist in different windows to manage my tracks.

No longer an option. Best you can do is enable the side bar (CTRL+S), display the source tracks and drag them onto the playlist you want them to go to. You'll have to reorder that playlist, if necessary, as a separate step.

Why can I not get my windows to fit the screen

I am not sure what happened today, but in Safari the window does not fit the screen on my Mac Book Pro, even when you click the green + button. What should I do to rectify. I have done a full Shutdown, and still the same.

One other thing that might be handy:
You can set the default Safari window size as follows. Open a new window (command-n). Resize. Close window. Subsequent windows should open at that same size.

I keep trying to log into both the facetime and i message but i am not able to. I get the error message that i am unable to connect and that i must check my connection. I am connected to wi-fi with a good connection. I had no problems until i upgraded to ios 7.2.

It sounds like FaceTime and iMessage are giving you some trouble when trying to log in.

Why can I not browse into subfolders in a stack?

I used to be able to browse subfolders from a stack. For example, if you look at this screenshot of someone elses doc stack - mine used to look like this:
Note the little arrow in the top left corner. If you browse into one of the subfolder, it opens in the stack view, and you can browse it's contents.
Suddenly, though, my stacks have lost this ability.
Behold the following image:
Note the *absence* of the little arrow at top right? And if I click on a subfolder - nothing happens. Nothing at all. If I click a file it will open in the default program, but if I click a folder ... nada. zip. not a blamed thing happens.
What have I done to bork this up? More imprtantly - how do I fix it?
It's killing my because I keep all my remote desktop sessions organized in subfolder attached to my dock as a stack so I can quickly launch them, but as things stand - it don't work no more because I can't get into my neatly organised subfolders from my dock! Woe is me...
Has anyone else seen this behaviour in their dock? More importantly - does anyone know what I can do to get the default behaviour back?

Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.
You can redownload most iTunes purchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
If problem what happens or does not happen and when in the instructions? When you successfully get the iPod in recovery mode and connect to computer iTunes should say it found an iPod in recovery mode.

OK, why can I not authorize my Windows 7 64-bit computer for iTunes?

I'm entering my AppleID password just fine (the one I'm using to post this, but the iTunes store keeps rejecting it. Any ideas?
BTW, why does the 64-bit iTunes installer program default to installing under Program Files(x86)? I changed it to the other Program Files directory-- is that the cause of my problem above?

see your capslock and numlock status, if not that problem, check if there is any key stuckin' there(not correctly jump up), and try an alternative web browser, I.E. 7/8/9, google chrome 10.x, to see if it the problem of firefox. if firefox 4 don't help, try firefox 3.6.16.
