Why can I not listen to music on iTunes using my iphone

I sync my music to my phone at home then bring my phone to work. When I plug in my phone to my desktop at work, my music doesn't show up in iTunes. This works perfectly on my iPod. I am able to sync music at home and bring my iPod to work and listen to it via iTunes.

That's not cool. The iPod was able to do that, why would they make the iPhone any different?
I don't want to sync to two computers though. I'm literally syncing to one computer and just plugging it in to another computer to listen to the music on the phone.

My fiance and I share our home laptop, he is awaiting his new Mac arrival.  During this time I have sold my old laptop and used this one, Toshiba Qosmio.  When i plug my iphone 4 into iTunes and try to sync the music, it prompts a window that says if i sync music his, from his iphone 4s will override mine and erase my music.  Isn't there a way I can have 2 seperate accounts or just delete his, as he is getting a new one?  I have tried uninstalling although it still comes up to his account.  TERRIBLY FRUSTRATED!!!!  I am new to the iphone, as we were Droid users prior to this.  Thank you for any help

  • Why can't I listen to music and read the ny times simultaneously?

Why can't I listen to music and read simultaneously?

hmm, well have you ever tried to run the music app in the bakground before? Double click the home button and bring up the music app. Select you music and you should hear it when you switch back to your NY times.app.
You can do this. HOWEVER, never used the NY times app before. ****IF the NY times has streaming media capability, this would be why you can't listen to music simultaneously while reading.
Not all news readers have the ability to allow music in the background.
    Hope this helps!

  • Why can I not find my music that I download from the iTunes Store or that was ripped from a cd in my library

I have bought several music from iTunes and now I cannot find them in my library.  The same goes for music that I have ripped from my cds.  What gives?!  Why doesn't the music stay in the iTunes library like it does in Windows Media.  There is music that I cannot get again and this is not acceptable.

Your iPod can only be synced with one iTunes library at a time.  If you try connecting the iPod to a new iTunes library or PC, you won't be able to add any new content to it until you choose the Erase and Sync option that you are prompted with when you plug it in or restore the iPod if that option doesn't appear.
If you have content on your iPod that needs to be copied back over to your iPod, see this older post from another forum member Zevoneer covering the different ways to you can recover these contents and moved them back over to your iTunes library.

I upgraded my computer, so I had to reinstall iTunes... I don't understand why I cannot just simply sync the music off of my iPod Touch that I didn't buy with iTunes to my library... The only music that is syncing is the music that I bought through iTunes... WHY CAN"T IT JUST BE SIMPLE?! (I don't have a backup of it..)

You don't have the old computer or a backup of it?

  • Why can I not find my music after I brought on iTunes

    Dear all,
I brought music from iTunes and I can not access it.
Please let me know if you know more details about this.
    Many thanks,
    Andreea.

Where on the new computer did you move it to. Look for it using explorer.
Then import to iTunes by using the File > Add folder to  and select the itunes media folder.
Then everything should go back into your library

  • Re: Why can I not assign specific music to a slideshow?

I thought that I had tried everything, until I came across this Thread:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=446667&tstart=0
It was just the simple-dimple problem and once I followed the lori steps, I "found" the library music.
    So simple. So dumb.
    Thank You Very Much!
    Respectfully,
    Bill Gallagher
Oh, is there any way to find the default music that comes w/slideshow. I'd like to use it in an iTunes folder together w/another song, as the default tune is too short. I know I have to put them both in the same folder/album, but I can't find that default music?
Ok, found it. It's called "Acoustic Sunrise.aif" (yeah, I know it's lame but it fits in well with the first part of my slideshow), but I can't get to it. Any advice would be appreciated. Path='/Library/Audio/Apple Loops/Apple/iLife Sound Effects/Jingles

    Bill:
The default music is located in the iPhoto (application package)/Contents/Resources/Music folder. You open the iPhoto package by Control-clicking on the application and selecting "Show package contents" from the Contextual menu. You can add tracks to that folder is you want a different default song.
    Do you Twango?
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.

  • HT201272 Why can't I download my music from iTunes onto my ipod?

I got a new laptop computer, downloaded iTunes on it and retrieved my music from my old computer into this iTunes.  However, now I cannot download new music or any music for that matter onto my iPod nano.  I can sync music from my iPod to my computer but not the other way around.  Even re-registered my iPod again, but this does not seem to matter.  What am I doing wrong?  Never had this problem before.  My computer has Windows 8 if that makes a difference.

The people who answer here are just users like yourself, and how long it takes depends on who is around and happens to see your post. You can't expect an immediate answer, though you might be lucky and get a quick one - but it might take some hours or even a day or so.
However, you've posted in the forum for Producing Podcasts - heaven knows why - which is not in any way related to your question, and so which reduces the likelihood of anyone who knows the answer seeing your question. I've asked the Hosts to move your posts to the iPad forum.

  • Why can't I upgrade all music to iTunes Plus?

    Hello world,
So I was wondering why, when looking at the page in the iTunes store which lets you convert all previously purchased DRM music to iTunes Plus, it shows less total songs than I currently have?
To be specific, I created a smart playlist which shows all my protected (DRM) music. I did this by telling the playlist to display: 'Kind - Contains - "Protected"' & 'Kind - Does not contain - "Video"'. The result is that I can see that I have 324 DRM protected songs, all purchased from the iTunes store.
However, when viewing the upgrade page in iTunes it shows that there are a total of 279 songs available for upgrade.
I am of the understanding that right now, all music on the iTunes store is DRM free or iTunes Plus format. I can't believe that they've taken some music down because they couldn't make it available in iTunes Plus, but of course maybe that's exactly what they've done.
Anyway if anyone can explain to me the difference in the total number of songs available for upgrade that would be sweet. As if I am going to pay approx. AU$100 to upgrade, I don't really want 45 songs left over which are still protected as it defeats the purpose a little.
    Cheers.

So what do I do when...
I have two albums by Way Out West. Today I found where 'Don't Look Now' was able to be upgraded to iTunes Plus. Okay, cool enough. (Yes, I'm just now getting around to checking this stuff out). Their other album that I purchased ages ago at the same time as 'DLN' is 'Intensify'. It too is offered today in iTunes.
'Intensify' is not listed in my items that I can upgrade to iTunes Plus.
So, given that this album is available today in iTunes, and it is available in the DRM-free version, how do I tickle iTunes in such a way as to let me upgrade this other album?
BTW, there ARE other albums, but I am trying to pick a very simple case of 2 albums by the same artist that are both available at this moment to make my point crystal clear.
    Thanks!
    Glen

  • Why can't I sync my music in iTunes when I have enough space?

I bought a new laptop and downloaded the new iTunes, I thought that when you sync to a new iTunes it automatically deletes what's on you iPhone and puts whatever is on your new iTunes.
I currently have ~1000 songs on my iPhone at the moment (There is still free space available on my iPhone, but not a lot) and have tried to sync with my new itunes that only has 600 but it won't let me because it's saying I need additional space? If my iPhone can fit 1000 songs on it at the moment, why can't it reduce it to 600? I don't understand.
Also, sorry if this is in the wrong category, please let me know so I can move it.

Sometimes a simple restart or reset of the iPad will help.
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
If that doesn't work, check out this support article.

  • Hi there can I remove a device from my iTunes using my iphone not a pc?

Can u help I need to remove a device form my iTunes using my phone

Many newer wireless routers can create more than one network simultanesouly. If I wanted to do this, I'd set up a separate network for my child to use, then change the password during those times I wanted him to stay off the net. Or just pull the plug and keep the wireless transmitted (the plug) where he couldn't reach it.
If you're using a recent Airport Base Station or Time Capsule there are better options.
