@steve_p: The point I am trying to make is your statement that the X6 has an annoying bug where the music player goes to near silent through the loud speakers. Just because it affects some phones but not all does not mean it is a bug. If it was a bug it would affect all phones not just some...
I do NOT agree with your logic at all. According to your reasoning every single X6 on the planet has to suffer a particular issue before that problem can then be termed a 'bug'. Taking that arguement to its ultimate conclusion you would state that the X6 has never suffered any bugs what-so-ever. I'm sorry I do NOT agree. I note you live in Australia, a totally different market from UK where I happen to be, as chanchan has stated there are hundreds of different product codes that cover just the X6 let alone the different hardware platforms RM559 & RM551 plus the 3 different mass storage sizes I mentioned above. Different batches of handsets and different market areas can suffer from different issues that won't necessarily be the same. I would class a bug as an issue that affects more than 1 person or a handful of people. Let's agree to disagree eh?

    Agreed. Hence my comments above.

I'm here to help people. If someone has an issue with their Nokia phone that I have had experience with or that I have found a solution to then I will help if I can. I don't have to justify myself to you by providing documented evidence and digging up proofs. Again I don't really care about my credibility to you either... people can see my full post history all the way back to 2005 when I first joined and they can judge for themselves if I my advice is worth taking, or not.

There you go again!!! You know it's funny that in my 5 years of posting on this forum only one person has had problems with the factual accuracies of my posts... You! Please enlighten me by way of PM to my past misdemeanours and I will happily discuss them with you, again via PM, I think this poor thread has been spammed to death as it stands. Can I also please ask that in the future if you have any problems with my posts and you think that I am deliberately trying to mislead or post falsehoods that you notify a moderator, or contact me via PM. Quite frankly, I don't like your tone or attacking nature and I don't like being typecast as a liar or worse an uninformed idiot and I'll thank you not to point accusations my way again. If, however, you have another point of view to my own and can put that down in a civil way then I'll happily respond. I will leave it there for now and I will do my best not to post in this thread again, unless to give further help to the original poster.

  • My iPhone 4S will not play music out loud. I can't turn sound up or down, it doesn't even give me the option.  I think that it thinks its docked, I've tried to blow air in it, I've tried compressed air with no luck.

Clean iPhone charging port with clean dry toothbrush. See if fixed. If not, and if there is Warranty or AppleCare make Genius reservation and take to Apple for resolution. If no coverage, clean again, very well with toothbrush and small amount of Isopropyl Alcohol.

  • TS1630 My phone will not ring for calls or text messages. It also will not play music out loud.

My phone will not ring for messages or texts. It also will not play music outloud. I know it's not the speakers because it does make noise when I type in my password and sometimes when I am in the settings for the ringtone. It will not make the message sounds in settings. With headphones it makes noise. I don't know what to do and I've tried all the settings. Has this happened to anyone else? The silence key on the side is off. I've tried restarting it, but it does not work. Sometimes it will make noise when I am typing, but only a few times. I haven't dropped it and I have an otterbox, so I don't know what would cause it to do this...?

Everyone you are way over thinking this as did i at first. My wife had the same issue. there is i switch right above the volume button as demonstrated  on this link. its designed for lets say you into a class or meeting you can switch the phone to silent quck and easy.

  • Why can I not play music in car utilizing aux jack?

I have a new IPhone 5 that will not play through the AUX jack on my 2010 Honda Accord.  Any ideas?

Trouble shooting here so please don't take offense at what might seem to be basic questions.
Can you hear through your earbuds when plugged into the phone jack on your iPhone?
Is the sound turned on on the side of the phone?  If you can see orange on the sound switch it is turned off.
Have you tried to restart your phone?  Press both Home and Sleep/Wake buttons at the same time and wait for Apple logo to appear? (LIke rebooting a PC)
Can you check the jumper cable you are using in car with another device to make sure it works? (We had to buy a  male to male adapter with a smaller diameter tip to connect my wifes iPhone 4S to the Aux port in her car because the tip on the actual cable was too wide at the top. But that was because of the size of the opening in her case)

  • Why can I not play music through my headphones while the power cord is plugged in?

When my headphones and power cord are plugged in at the same time, audio will not play through the headphones, and the volume bar goes away. Why?

What is the other end of the power cord plugged in to? If it isn't an Apple wall adapter the phone probably sees it as an audio device.

  • Internal speaker will not play music out loud

i need help. I can not figure out how to get my music to play through the internal speaker on my ipod touch. i have tried going to (1) settings, then (2) general, then (3) sound effects and then i have tried choosing "speaker" & also "both" (headphones & speaker). then when i go back & make sure the music is playing it is, but there is no sound coming from the ipod speaker. i can hear it through the headphones just fine, its just the speaker that does not seem to be working. i went to alarm to see if any sound comes through the speaker when the alarm goes off & it does. so whats the deal? how do i get my music to play through the speaker? any ideas???

Well, a big part of the problem could be that the Touch doesn't have an internal speaker. The alarm noises are made by a transducer, not a speaker. In order to listen to music without headphones, you'd need to buy external speakers.

  • Why can I not play music I have paid for?

About 2 years ago, for the first time I bought an album from the itunes store on the same computer I currently am using. I was able to listen to it fine. I don't reguarly download from the itunes store, but the music that I have done, for some bizarre reason, I now am refused access to. I cannot figure it out. At first it refused my password (which I was so sure was entirely correct, but nevermind) so I changed it successfully.
I went back to itunes, trying to just simply play a song, and I'm asked again for my password, so I keep entering it, and it says:
'this computer is already authorised. Incuding this one, you have authorised 2 computers out of your available 5'.
This is odd, as I bought the music on this account, my only account, on this computer and have only played it on here. Anyway, I respond to this message with the only option available 'OK', and then I proceed to play the song...but I am asked for my password again, and so I enter it again, and the same message comes up again and I press OK again...and again and again. It is a short and unsatisfying circle with no escape.
I do find apple really quite frustrating sometimes. I paid for music I can't listen to. I would have preferred to pay an extra £3 for the CD to listen to how I wish, on many computers, disc players etc, to avoid the hassle and controlling nature of these programmes. RANT!
    Please please help?
many many many thanks : )

  • WHy can't I play music that is in the cloud when I am not connected to the internet

In Itunes on my PC, if I am not connected to the internet I am not able to play tunes I have downloaded from Itunes. I can only play tunes that I loaded from CD's onto my computer. What is up with that? Can I bypass this restriction?

If they have been downloaded them you do not need an internet connection.

  • My iPod Touch 5th Generation won't play music out loud. Why and what can i do to 'fix' it?

My iPod Touch 5th Generation won't play music out loud. Why and what can i do to 'fix' it?

If you mean the headphones work but the speaker does not:
    - Try cleaning out/blowing out the headphone jack. Try inserting/removing the plug a dozen times or so. There is a little switch in the headphone jack that disconnects the speaker when the headphone jack is inserted.
Try the following to rule out a software problem
    - Reset the iPod. Nothing will be lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup
    - Restore to factory settings/new iPod.
    - Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store. Seems you have a bad headphone jack.
Apple Retail Store - Genius Bar
If not under warranty Apple will exchange your iPod for a refurbished one for this price. They do not fix yours.
    Apple - iPod Repair price
A third-party place like the following will replace the jack for less. Google for more.

    Replace the jack yourself

  • Why can i not buy music from itunes store, this only happened recently

Why can i not buy music from itunes store, this has only happened recently ?

O.K. Everything seems to be in order now!
I don't know what happened but this is the results....
After attempting to edit change the information on my iTunesMS account at least 7 times, I posted the above question, logged out of iTunes, closed down all my apps and turned off my computer.
A few hours later, I thought I would give it one more try and when I turned on iTunes, went to the Music Store and then 'reviewed' my account... it had my old American address on it with the country listed as Sweden... I just left it alone, as it didn't have my credit card info listed at all... Curiously, I'm clueless about that (though I did send this same complaint to Apple during the first posting... did that have anything to do with it?) When I clicked the continue button (without changing any info) it prompted me that I was finished setting up my iTunes Music Store account and I was immediately able to download some songs....(using the iTunes Music card--- I have not tried my MasterCard!)
So basically, I did nothing except close iTunes, turn off my computer and later rebooted it and opened iTunes! Strange... does that seem like a fix or what?

  • Nano plays music out loud even when ear buds are plugged in?

Nano plays music out loud even when ear buds are plugged in? its like the external speaker is always on, i cannot figure out how to turn it off....HELP SOMEONE

You don't have to shout - typing in caps.
The earphones must be pushed very hard into the iPod. So hard, that the white part of the plug must touch the iPod in order for the external speakers to turn off. You will hear a click.

If you do a forum search, you will find this same solution. If it does not work, you will need to take your iPod to an apple store or call the Apple iPod tech support if still under warranty or you have Apple Care.

  • The volume on my iPhone 5c is really low when playing music out loud.

When I am playing music out loud it is far too quiet. It is actually louder when I put headphones in without putting them in my hear than when I just play music out loud. What could be wrong? It's really annoying me.

    Hello, asialeighx.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
I understand you are experiencing an issue with the sound volume on your iPhone speakers.  Here are some troubleshooting steps that I would go through for this issue.
If you hear no sound or distorted sound from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch speaker

Although you say you have let the battery drain, was it for long enough? Since nothing else that you've tried so far has worked, I suggest that you leave the iPod unplugged for at least four days, preferably a week. That way, if something is stopping the iPod from turning the screen on, then whatever it is will drain the battrey. However, since the screen isn't on, that may take longer than if the screen was on.
Then, after that time, plug the iPod into a power source and leave it alone for at least thirty minutes. Only after thirty minutes will it show any signs of life, but you should leave it until it is fully charged before trying to use it.
If you get to this stage, the fact that the battery has drained will cause the iPod to reset when it springs back to life.
Let us know how you get on.
