Why can I not read mail in Inbox?

Email in Inbox will not open when I select any of the mail. I accidentally did something when I hit the edge of the desk with the mouse. I guess this caused the problem. Mail in the Sent and Trash will open. How do I correct?

Will an email in the Inbox open if you double-click on it? If so, then you have accidentally minimized the Message Preview Pane.

Open up Font Book (located in the Applications folder) and look for Helvetica Fractions. If you find it, delete it. Restart Safari and let us know what happens.

  • HT204081 why can i not read the books i bought on itunes on my itunes/computer?

i was just wondering why can i not read my books on my computer that i just bought online on the itunes store. do i have to download anything speffic?

ibooks bought from Apple can currently only be read in the iBooks app on an iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch - so far Apple haven't made a Mac or PC reader for them, so you won't be able to read them on your Mac.

  • Why can i not read my mail in firefox5.0,could before

have this odd question perhaps but.
problem began when firefox was updated to 5.0.
before that it was no problem reading my meil.
I still can open meilbox, but nothing shows.
have just to be sure two meil accounts on different places
hotmail.com and telia.com.Its the one at telia.com that does not work. Why is that?
Have asked telia the same question...just to be sure

To be able to read ibooks on a Mac you need the iBooks app, which is only available in OS X Mavericks.
You might be able to read some of them (e.g. free ibooks or those from publisher's such as O'Reilly who don't include digital rights management on their books) in programs such as Calibre, but the majority of ibooks can only be read in the iBooks app on iOS devices and Mavericks.

  • Why can I not read PDF files from btcloud.

    Hello,
I have put some ebooks in PDF format onto Btcloud and successfully read them on an android device in Adobe. When I try the same on the ipad it tells me the format is not supported.
    Any one know why.

  • Why Can I not read my iBooks on my computer?

I've joined this simply to ask this quesiton and i am beyond annoyed at the fact that i cannot read any of my ibooks on anything but my iPod which i've dropped and smashed. I wish to continue to read them on the computer and cannot.

It is possible to read some ebooks without an iOS device -- those in the epub format which do not have DRM.  Usually free books are like that, and some publishers of paid books (like O'Reilly) also omit DRM.  Apps like Adobe Digital Editions and Calibre can be used for ebooks in this category.

  • Why can I not read an ebook that I have purchased on my computer using itunes?

I purchased an ebook on itunes, downloaded it to my computer and selected it to start reading... it gives me the message: This book can't be viewed using this computer. You can view this book using iBooks on your iOS device.
I am so incredibly furious that I can't use something that I have bought while using the program that I bought it from.
If anyone has a solution pls help.
please do not answer with "use your iOS device" or "get a mac." I don't have either, nor do I want them. I just want to listen or read the things that I have bought plain and simple.

The message is correct.  You cannot read an Apple iBook on a PC.

Get the Kindle app for PC, and buy your e-books from the Kindle Store.  They can be read on a wide variety of devices.
As for the Apple iBook, you already bought, I guess you now realize it was a shopping error.  If you feel  the product was misrepresented, contact iTunes Customer Service.

  • Why can Itunes not read my ipod's content?

Everytime I do an update on itunes it works perfectly fine.  The second time I open up itunes on the most recent version it says it cannot read my ipod's conent.  So it's not my ipod that doesn't work since it can work the first time it is on itunes, it is itunes that does not work.  I don't have a backup file for my songs and I do not want to restore my content.  I just want to add more music from itunes which does work THE FIRST TIME.  The last time I even tried to restore my ipod to factory settings it wouldn't even let me.  It also isn't letting me doing any updates on my ipod for some reason and it says I'm still on 4.3.5, but that isn't even an option below.  (I hate itunes, it's far too complicated than it really needs to be).

Okay, so I had persomed a diagnostic check, and it said ipod not found.  Does that help or make it worse?

Why can I not send an e-mail from my contact list?

I responded to your other post.
Have you set up an email account on your iPad? What is happening when you try to send an email?

  • Why can I not send e-mails from my e-mail account? I can receive e-mails. Not an iCloud account. It is a Bell Aliant account.

Why can I not send e-mails from my e-mail account? I can receive e-mails. It is not an iCloud account it is a Bell Aliant account. An account I pay for.
This is the second time in three months this has occurred. Bell Aliant suggested I contact Apple directly as the only option is to remove my e-mail account and reconfigure it. This will mean losing all my files. These files are very important as my account is a business account.
Bell Aliant thought perhaps it is an Apple problem and that Apple may better be able to remedy the situation without me losing my e-mail files.

    Sorry ?
An Internet email provider losses all your Mail and it's Apple's fault ??
Did they explain how the app managed to delete all of your mail and then not even let you have access ?
If that was the case the app should still be able to access the empty folders.
I know there is often blame and counter blame in these situations but there are limits.

why can I not install Acrobat Reader in a different drive / directory. I need to install this in a different drive. I prefer to keep the Os drive free of rubbish. Is there an option in an install to allow this to happen?

What is your operating system & version?
If you are on Windows, download the offline installer from http://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/ and click 'Change Destination Folder' and the first install panel.

I have an iMac(mid2010) running Pages v5.5.1 on OS X 10.10. Why can I not save or share documents. The error message is You can’t save the file “TEST.pages” because the volume is read only.
I get the same message when using Numbers so I presume it is a OS problem

Some of your user files (not system files) have incorrect permissions or are locked. This procedure will unlock those files and reset their ownership, permissions, and access controls to the default. If you've intentionally set special values for those attributes, they will be reverted. In that case, either stop here, or be prepared to recreate the settings if necessary. Do so only after verifying that those settings didn't cause the problem. If none of this is meaningful to you, you don't need to worry about it, but you do need to follow the instructions below.
Back up all data before proceeding.
    Step 1
If you have more than one user, and the one in question is not an administrator, then go to Step 2.
Enter the following command in the Terminal window in the same way as before (triple-click, copy, and paste):
    sudo find ~ $TMPDIR.. -exec chflags -h nouchg,nouappnd,noschg,nosappnd {} + -exec chown -h $UID {} + -exec chmod +rw {} + -exec chmod -h -N {} + -type d -exec chmod -h +x {} + 2>&-
You'll be prompted for your login password, which won't be displayed when you type it. Type carefully and then press return. You may get a one-time warning to be careful. If you don’t have a login password, you’ll need to set one before you can run the command. If you see a message that your username "is not in the sudoers file," then you're not logged in as an administrator.
The command may take several minutes to run, depending on how many files you have. Wait for a new line ending in a dollar sign ($) to appear, then quit Terminal.
    Step 2 (optional)
Take this step only if you have trouble with Step 1, if you prefer not to take it, or if it doesn't solve the problem.
Start up in Recovery mode. When the OS X Utilities screen appears, select
              Utilities ▹ Terminal
from the menu bar. A Terminal window will open. In that window, type this:
    res
Press the tab key. The partial command you typed will automatically be completed to this:
    resetpassword
Press return. A Reset Password window will open. You’re not going to reset a password.
Select your startup volume ("Macintosh HD," unless you gave it a different name) if not already selected.
Select your username from the menu labeled Select the user account if not already selected.
Under Reset Home Directory Permissions and ACLs, click the Reset button
    Select
               ▹ Restart
    from the menu bar.
