Why can I not retrieve recent Comcast mail messages?

Five days ago my Mail app stopped retrieving new messages from my Comcast mail account. I have deleted the account, rebooted the iphone 4, and set up my mail account again. It will retrieve 50 messages, stopping with a message I received 5 days ago. Oddly, it seems to be picking up mostly email from individuals and not the e-mail I received from businesses, as if the iPhone is filtering out what it thinks is spam. Updates to mail state that it was updated at xx time but it retrieves no new messages. I can continue to send email but I can only see it when I log in through a web browser or Mozilla.
I double checked the port settings against what Comcast published and they match what the iPhone auto-detected. Any suggestions?

I have same problem. Only with one of my three emails. Two of my emails work fine. One of my emails on my iPhone 5, with version 6.1.4 software, does the same problem. I can send emails fine. but when I try to download receved emails, I only receive emails dated 8-30-13 and before. None of my recently received emails download to my iPhone 5. However, the emails work fine on my computer mail client on my Mac. Is there a glitch in Apple that caused this? Please help.

Seriously, can we only mark a message as unread? I was already having problems with my iPhone4S not showing flagged messages on my iMac, but the fact that I can't even flag a message on iOS6 is a further step backwards!

I think it depends on the type of mail provider you have configured. I have a standard Gmail and flagging works (flag and mark unread). I also have another Gmail account set up as an Exchange provider so that I could receive push notifications and the only option for that provider is "Mark as Unread". I know that this has changed since iOS5 and it's annoying.

Why can I not check my e-mails?

It started four days ago suddently that I no longer open any of my e-mails at my work address. I can still view e-mails at my Gmail account. I turned off the pop up blocker, but it didn't make any difference. Is it possible that a third party is now preventing me from opening my e-mails? If so, who should I contact, the webmaster at my work, Apple, or my wireless phone provider?
Here is the situation: after I type in my password, I can see the list of mailbox, but when I click on any of the messages, it doesn't open. From my laptop, there is no problem to view e-mails. I look forward to suggestions to solve this issue. Thank you.

I had a i-pad 3, non-apple desktop and laptop all receiving sympatico e-mails. When I purchased the iphone 5, I now cannot receive my sympatico e-mails on both the ipad and iphone at the same time. If I turn off one of these devices, the e-mails populate in the opposite device. Apple support had me turn off "Fetch New Data" from my e-mail account. My incoming server is pop.bellaliant.net and my out going server on my phone is mail.1xbell.ca and my ipad is smtpbellaliant.net
Has anyone experienced a similar issue?

Why can I not access my talktalk mail account on my iPad but can do so on my MacBook Pro?

When I try to access my talktalk account on either my iPad or iPhone I cannot get past the login, however I have no difficulty on my macbookpro. I am sure I was able to do so on my iPhone before I upgraded to os6 but I have only just purchased an iPad and it has os6 as well!

I am new to this site and could not see a way of updating the question without resorting to a reply. In order to avoid confusion my problem is not about setting up an email account on my ipad. It is that when I go onto the talktalk website I cannot get past the login. This happens on both my iPhone and iPad. Is that possible? Am I allowed to use an info@ as Apple ID?

If you are sure you have never used it for any Apple ID in the past my best guess is that Apple "knows" that "info" is a reserved *nix UID, along with others, such as "postmaster", "root", "abuse", etc. If it's your domain why don't you add a new email address just for your Apple ID. It's what I did with the server I manage.

Okay, it's simple than. The folders you've created are local folders which are not stored on the server.
In order to change that open Mail.app select Mailbox->New Mailbox and make sure you choose MobileMe at Location.
Now drag&drop your "On my Mac" mails into that new "MobileMe" folder. After a few min. they should be synced.

This is the second time in three months this has occurred. Bell Aliant suggested I contact Apple directly as the only option is to remove my e-mail account and reconfigure it. This will mean losing all my files. These files are very important as my account is a business account.
Bell Aliant thought perhaps it is an Apple problem and that Apple may better be able to remedy the situation without me losing my e-mail files.

An Internet email provider losses all your Mail and it's Apple's fault ??
Did they explain how the app managed to delete all of your mail and then not even let you have access ?
If that was the case the app should still be able to access the empty folders.
I know there is often blame and counter blame in these situations but there are limits.

O.K. Everything seems to be in order now!
I don't know what happened but this is the results....
After attempting to edit change the information on my iTunesMS account at least 7 times, I posted the above question, logged out of iTunes, closed down all my apps and turned off my computer.
A few hours later, I thought I would give it one more try and when I turned on iTunes, went to the Music Store and then 'reviewed' my account... it had my old American address on it with the country listed as Sweden... I just left it alone, as it didn't have my credit card info listed at all... Curiously, I'm clueless about that (though I did send this same complaint to Apple during the first posting... did that have anything to do with it?) When I clicked the continue button (without changing any info) it prompted me that I was finished setting up my iTunes Music Store account and I was immediately able to download some songs....(using the iTunes Music card--- I have not tried my MasterCard!)
So basically, I did nothing except close iTunes, turn off my computer and later rebooted it and opened iTunes! Strange... does that seem like a fix or what?

go to Help Menu -> select "Restart with Add-ons Disabled"
Check if it works without Add-ons.
Firefox will close then it will open up with just basic Firefox. You can enable the Add-ons later. Check and tell if its working.
