Why can I not successfully install adobe flash player?

I'm so confused by this, I've tried to download at least 3 times and everytime it does not work, help!

1. System Preferences > Flash Player > Advanced > Delete All
     Press the "Delete All" button
     Install Adobe Flash Player.
    http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/
    Follow the prompts.
    Quit Safari.
    Restart computer. Relaunch Safari.
2. Allow Plug-ins
    Safari > Preferences > Security
    Internet Plug-ins > "Allow plug-ins"
    Enable it.
    Press " Manage Website Settings" button for more options.

I ceurrently have an iMac with Leopard OS. I have tried to install Adobe Flash Player for the past 4 days. It has been unsuccessful with Safari but not Firefox. I have uninstalled the software and reistalled. I have also repaired permissions as someone suggested. Can anyone help?

Cannot Successfully install Adobe Flash Player

I have tried about 8 times to download Adobe Flash Player, following each of the steps required. I get the "complete" message, but websites I then try to open tell me that to view I have to download Adobe Flash Player. I evenn have in a folder the adobe flash player.exe, from which I've installed several times. Several times I've rebooted my computer before trying to open the desired site. That has not helped. How do I get Flash Player successfully installed and in operation?

Hi, I probably should have told you the reason that swflash.ocx needed removed is because it was very old. Ok, now we have the Flash files for IE correct and the Shockwave Flash Object. Oh, just some info: IE8 has various categories for listing add ons and it makes it difficult to find. When you see "currently loaded" or "have been used", etc. that is confusing. I use XP/SP3/IE6 and found out long long ago, what matters is whether the add on is Enabled or Disabled no matter where it is listed or under what category.
Now, back to the issue. Trying to determine when this audio issue appeared. Did you Install any new software, Uninstall any that you can remember? Try any trial versions of any? A new Toolbar perhaps? If you can think of any, let me know.
Now that we know your Flash files are correct and the add on is also, then something is conflicting. I have a couple of links and info on audio issues and will review them.
We may need to take a look at your add ons in IE, but usually those conflict directly with Flash Player.
Trying to pinpoint when the audio acted up will help.
Let me know and I'll see what I have on my Desktop.

P.S. What about Trend Micro? Is that new? What Anti-Virus did you have before Trend Micro? Do you have a version number? Something to consider.

Why is Youtube not recognizing my Adobe Flash Player Add-On?

I just did the auto update so that Firefox 17.0 was installed. Anyway, for whatever reason, Youtube only seems to notice that my Adobe Flash Player add-on exists when it wants to. At the moment, it's not recognizing it, so I can't play videos. I've had to close out my current sessions of Firefox to get it to recognize the Flash Player, and then even then it's a crap shoot. What is going on? How can I fix this? Flash is one of the most basic programs needed in an internet browser, these days.

Yes, this worked. And, I didn't even have to close Firefox to get it to work.

Can't download and install Adobe Flash Player

I have a new Acer Aspire laptop on Windows 8.1, running the latest Firefox as default browser. On trying to open Al Jazeera in Firefox I get a window that says I need to download Adobe Flash Player:
I click on that and get the Adobe download page:
I click on install now and get the prompt to save install_flashplayer:
I click on save file and then go to my downloads folder and it has the installer icon there:
However when I then double click on it nothing more happens. A window headed Adobe Flash Player Installer with no content appears:
And nothing more happens.
Please advise.

So, today, I uninstalled it. Then I disabled Norton Internet Security and again tried to download the new Flash Player. However, this time I was unable to successfully accomplish the download. One way to ascertain which Flash player a web site is using is to Control + Click or right click on a mouse any clear space on the web site. In the pop menu, click View Source. When that window opens, press Command + F. At the top of that window type in Flash. The results will be automatically highlighted for you. Apparently Yahoo uses Adobe Shockwave Player available for download here: http://get.adobe.com/shockwave/
Also, for minimum requirements go here: http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/productinfo/systemreqs/
See if you can view video on Yahoo after you do the download and install. It's always a good idea to run Disk Utilities (Applications/Utilities) and Repair Disk Permissions after the installation.

You can't download it, flash is not supported on the iPad (or iPhone or iPod Touch), and probably never will be : http://www.apple.com/hotnews/thoughts-on-flash/
Depending on what sites you are trying to access, you might find that some of them (probably more so if they are news sites) have their own apps in the App Store which might let you get some of the content that you want (and there is the built-in YouTube app). Also there are browsers such as Skyfire which 'work' on some sites - but judging by the reviews not all sites. If you want to play flash games then you are out of luck if you want to play on-line, but again some of them have app versions in the store.

Actually, I think I have downloaded Flash Player 9 (Adobe confirms not only download but installation), but the player does not work. I receive a message "There is no default application specified to open the document "Flash Player.plug.in" in both Safari and Firefox.

I am experiencing the same problem. The message I get when I open up a page in Safari is that I need to have shockwave to view this MIME type file. When I choose to select the options given when this message appears, it takes me to the Adobe web site for downloading flash 9. I have tried opening Safari in Rosetta mode with no luck. THis is a recent phenomenon; prior to this I had no trouble viewing MIME files

Why can't I print from Adobe Flash Player?

OK, I have a magazine done in Flash at the following site:

Before I was able to print the Web content and had a print icon in the Flash Player window - located between the Share icon and the Zoom out icon.
Now, this printer icon is gone!
I just noticed this after the latest Flash "patch" come out.

Windows 7 OS - 32 bit
FireFox 3.6.10
Same issue in Google Chrome and IE.
Anyone know what's going on?

Companies like Adobe, Google, Firefox, etc.. no longer support anything less than 10.6. If you’re happy with 10.5 there’s no need for you to upgrade. But realize that you can’t get the latest version of many applications.
