Why can I use my iCloud alias on iPhone but not on iPad?

Tried this
Use the OTHER option instead of iCloud or MobileMe. Use the alias as the email address. Incoming mail server is mail.me.com. User name and password is your primary acct name. Outgoing server is smtp.mail.com.
Doesn't work. Server rejects alias

Emails containing PDF files can be seen as attachments on an iPhone but not my iPad

When receiving emails with PDF attachments these can be seen as attachments on my iPhone however on my iPad these appear in the body of the email and not as attachments. I have checked that the original emails were sent using HTML.

If it's a one page PDF then they will tend to show in the body of the body of the email on an iPad. You should still be able to do copy the PDF to another app by pressing and holding the PDF and after a second or two you should get a popup

Facetime on my Mac sets up properly, links to my contacts, and appears to make calls (i.e., it "rings"). But it doesn't actually connect to the other person. However, I can make Facetime calls on my phone. Huh?

You can not download ANYTHING to your iPad from Safari. iOS is completely different than the OS on your computer. It is a closed and extremely protected OS. You can look for office productivity tools in the App Store, like Pages or Numbers (One for Word documents, the other for Excel type spreadsheets), but they are iOS apps and only operate on your iPad.

The minimum requirement for iCloud is Lion 10.7.5 (Mavericks preferred): the iCloud Preference Pane does not appear on earlier systems - the MobileMe pane appears on Lion and earlier but is now non-functional - you cannot now open or access a MobileMe account.
To make use of iCloud you will have to upgrade your Mac to Lion or Mavericks, provided it meets the requirements.
The requirements for Lion are:
Mac computer with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7, or Xeon processor
2GB of memory
OS X v10.6.6 or later (v10.6.8 recommended)
7GB of available space
Lion is available in the Online Apple Store ($19.99). Mountain Lion (10.8.x) is also available there at the same price but there seems little point as the system requirements are the same for Mavericks (10.9.x) - which is free - unless you need to run specific software which will run on Mountain Lion only.
The requirements for Mountain Lion and Mavericks are:

Photos which are uploaded through icloud control panel are only synced with iPhone but not with iPad. Photos taken with iPhone or iPad are synced with all devices. So, why I do not get the uploaded photos from my pc to iPad? I alredy disabled photo stream on all devices - same failure

If only one device is not getting updated data, you need to troubleshoot that device and not photostream itself.
Verify that ipad is connected to wifi, charged over 20 percent, camera app is closed and take a photo of the screen (or anything else, but then close that camera app).
Open photostream folder on that ipad and see if picture shows up. If you network is good, should not take long.
Don't forget that while your phone can use wifi and cellular (even it suppose to use wifi for photostream, cellular networks got much better since original photostream was implemented) - you ipad is probably wifi only.
If picture shows up - you ipad and photostream have no problems and you can go to other devices one by one.

Why is my Apple id working on my MacBook but not my iPad? I can log in o.k. on my MacBook, but using the same user name and password on my iPad, I just get the Incorrect Apple ID or Password message.
on my iPad, I have used the Forgotten Apple ID or Password link and reset the password. Even after I get the successfully reset password message it still gives me the Incorrect Apple ID or Password message!
In desperation I have restored the iPad to Factory settings. It appears to be running OS 7. something.
My Macbook is running 10.8.5.
But the same problme persists.

Ios 6 is not available for all iphones. Original Iphone and iphone 3 are not supported.

This is common for most any device/computer. Not all iphone/computer/device models can handle all of the new features. Like any device, hardware is limited and cannot always support all new features and software.

Full page prints from iPhone but not from iPad using photo app with AirPrint ? iPad only prints 4x6 on full size paper. It's an HP 8600.

I also have this problem printing photos from an iPad to an Epson WF-2540 printer. It prints only 4x6 and without border (so print starts at extreme top left corner of paper). Borderless printing is not selected on printer. Printing a square photo just crops to 4x6 size.

It's a glitch with facebook. All you can do is wait for FB to fix it or find a work around like third party apps that might work better

Can call friend on iPhone but not on ipad...

A friend tried calling me on Skype. Both my ipad and iphone are set up. His call came through on the iPhone but not on my ipad. I asked him to hang up, and I then tried calling him on my ipad. I got the usual 'trying to connect' message but he didn't get anything... He was able to call back on the iPhone only....
Help! What's going on?
By the way, I had a 40 minute call with one of my other colleagues on the ipad yesterday...so that was working okay.

sms is short message service it's 100% a cell network thing and 100% not! an Internet thing
iMessage is an IM which when on the internet and sending to an apple device send the msg as an IM (this mean instant message) and when not it send it as an sms
macs can't send sms they not being cell phones so they can only send to the apple users not other used who would require a sms
