Why can't adobe reader download and display my files?

i downloaded adobe reader and when I try to display something I get an error message:
"Adobe reader is unable to show documents in this browser configuration."
I was able to display these documents with preview..
and I am able to display them with adobe when using my safari browser.
Help!

What is the best software programs that I can use to read, write and modify data / files on external HD (NTFS format i.e. Windows) ?

Hi guys,
I’m new to Mac and have a MacBook Pro Lion OS (10.6.8 I think !!!) with Parallels 7 (Windows 7) installed. Can someone please tell me what is the best software program that I can use to read, write and modify data / files on external HD (NTFS format) from the Mac OS ? I heard of Paragon and Tuxera NTFS. Are they free ? Are they good ? Are there any other software programs out there ? I heard that some people have issues with Paragon.

Your best bet would be to take the drive to the oldest/compatible with that drive Windows PC and grab the files off, right click and format it exFAT (XP users can download exFAT from Microsoft) and then put the files back on.
Mac's can read and write all Windows files formats except write to NTFS (and in some cases not read) so if you can change the format of the drive to exFAT (all data has to be remove first) then you will have a drive that doesn't require paid third party NTFS software (a license fee goes to Microsoft) for updates.
Also it's one less hassle to deal with too.

Firefox Hangs Downloading and Displaying PDF Files

I've had a problem with Firefox for several years where it hangs in the middle of the file when downloading and displaying a PDF file. Typically it downloads a few hundred kilobytes and then stalls.
Recently I upgraded from Acrobat 8.1 to Acrobat 9.1. The problem remains. The problem may not occur on all PDF files.
I suspect the problem is related to the Plug-in, as I just installed the Foxit PDF Reader and Firefox now handles the PDF file without problem.
Any thoughts on how to solve this problem?

Thanks for the replies. I don't think I was clear enough with my question.
What I want to be able to do is to click on a PDF file in my Firefox browser and be able to save it as an Adobe PDF file, not a Preview PDF file, in any folder on my computer, rather than just the specified default location for downloads. This way I can save, for example, phone bills in the phone bills folder and bank statements in the bank statements folder without having to save them to the desktop, "Get Info" on each, and change the "Open with:" box from Preview to Adobe Reader.

Thanks for your help. Now, within my Firefox browser, I can choose whether to view or download PDF files, always in Adobe rather than Preview, and when I save them I get the option to choose the location each and every time.

From a TestStand sequence, I need to open, read, write and close binary files. Does TestStand support this capability?

In the past I have used the C/C++ Adapter to call directly into the CVI RTE functions. The CVI functions I have used are OpenFile, WriteFile and CloseFile. The functions are exported from the DLL as CVI_OpenFile, CVI_WriteFile, and CVI_CloseFile. I just had to make sure that on termination of the sequence, that the integer handle was properly released by calling the close function.
If you are using LabVIEW, you could call directly into the low level VIs to do a similar set of operations.

Why can I no longer download and read .pdf files

I have never had any problems downloading and reading .pdf files until I 'upgraded' the Adobe reader to version 11. Now all attempted downloads fail because "I don't have the necessary helper application or even C:\DOCUME~1\Will-o\LOCALS~1\Temp\Back Channel II - The Vietnam Betrayal - Chaps 1&2.pdf could not be opened, because the associated helper application does not exist. Change the association in your preferences. What in the world is going on and how do I fix it?
Under 'Tools - Applications - Adobe Acrobat Document, the I've selected 'Use Adobe Reader.' However since I also have Adobe Acrobat 8.3, I've tried substituting that for the Reader, but that doesn't work either. Please help.

Why can't adobe reader remember my page?

I have the settings set to open the last display page when I open the file and it normally works fine. But sometimes all the files in my computer will restore to the original status like it shows the first page and the font is very big. I don't know what I did and it seems to happen randomly. Can anyone tell me why this is happening? It's pretty annoying. Thanks!

Why won't adobe reader download?

I am running windows vista ultimate 32-bit operating system. I had adobe reader 10.1.13. While trying to open an important document, it said that I needed the latest adobe to open. I tried to update to 10.1.4, but it kept getting hung up on step 2.
I finally uninstalled adobe and tried a new download of 10.1.4. But I still can't get past step 2. I have tried to download in both Chrome and IE9 without success. My active scripting is enabled in IE. I finally tried to download adobe XI, but that too failed. I restarted the computer in between each attempt. I had this problem updating updating adobe flash and last week someone provided a link that worked, but I cannot find such help for reader and am hoping someone can help me.
I now have no reader at all and there is a very important, time sensitive document that I need to open from the state of IL. Can someone please help? Thank you.

Use the offline installer from http://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/
Note that Reader XI is not compatible with Vista; download/install Reader 10.1.4, then update it to 10.1.13.

Why can't Adobe Reader X update the data matrix?

Hey guys,
I create via Livecycle Designer an new PDF, add two text fields and insert a data matrix from formularbarcode.
As one of its properties I set a collection (the two text fields) on which the data matrix is based.
The two text fields are variable.
After saving the PDF and open it with the Adobe Reader and fill in the text fields the data matrix code changes to a grey box.
If I do this with the Adobe Acrobat Professional, it'll work. Where is the problem? Please help!

Why can't adobe reader users open a link within a form?

When form is opened using Adobe Reader, links do not work. However, if opened using Acrobat XI Pro, the links work fine.
This problem has been going on for a few months now. I'm not sure if there was an update to something or if this is just a bug that needs fixed.

Why can't I add email and send a file.

I have a file to send and I can't type in the email address on the bar where it says To... Also, when I click address book blue icon I'm rerouted to buy the monthly subscription. I've emailed small things before. What am I missing here?

When you click the Share icon and choose E-mail Document, you should be taken to the default Mail client.
It should be no different than if you opened Mail and started a new document.
Mail is totally NOT part of Adobe Reader. I'm really not sure what you have done. Mail can't be directing you to buying a subscription.
Try sending an email from a different PDF file to confirm what I'm saying. Also, refer to the Help file in Reader for instructions.

Downloading and displaying xml file

My problem is :
I want to create and display an XML file once i run my program in background.My display would be in internet explorer.
Note that i could not use GUI_DOWNLOAD, because my execution is in background.I am looking for the one to replace GUI_DOWNLOAD.
I used OPEN DATASET statement, but the file, which is opening is not in XML format. it is displaying only in SAP. I want the display in explorer.
My requirement is urgent...

Hi Buddy...try with class CL_GUI_FRONTEND_SERVICES. Goto SE24 and type the class mentioned above. In this class you can find a method called GUI_DOWNLOAD.
If it is not working try
CALL TRANSFORMATION
call transformation (`ID`) source (your internal table) result XML xml_string.

Why can't I successfully download and install Firefox?

After unsuccessfully trying to remedy Firefox hanging every time I opened it, I uninstalled it and tried re-installing the latest version. This has been another disaster as the first couple of tries I could not even get the download to start. Once downloaded, I started on the install only to have a box appear with a message that Firefox couldn't find the required file (without specifying the file's name) and then it appeared to quit. I've similarly been unable to download a British English version from the Mozilla download site since. While I find Mozilla/Firefox files on searching my hard disk, I have no means of installing.

Then you may have an unstable Internet connection. It takes me less than 1 second to download the complete installer, and I am about 10,000km away from the Adobe download servers.
Try downloading it somewhere with a better connection, e.g. a library, then transfer it using a flash drive.

Why can't Adobe Reader find or search for words on a PDF document?

I have seen where people have the same problem whoes comments where dated back in June 2011. WHEN WILL THIS PROBLEM BE FIXED? I am sent PDF files with multiple pages of documents that I have to go through. I need to find documents by employee names. Please help.

Are you able to select the text? If not, then it's probably just a scanned image of text, not real text. In that case there's nothing you can do about it unless you run OCR on the document in Acrobat or some other similar application.

First, delete the song. Then go back to the iTunes Store, select Purchased from the Quick Links section and re-download the song.
