Why can't apple use both processors?

My question that I have had in my mind for quite a while was how apple could just drop powerpc chips for intel. I know the basis of the decision for going to intel was that they had a better road map of putting better processors for their notebooks etc (centrinos / yonah).
Though my question was how apple could not use both? Everyone likes options, and since most software companies are doing universal coding in present day, why couldn't we have products from 86x and power pc processors? Was apple relationship that tarnished with ibm over the years?
I would have been bet that IBM could have matched better processors for the power macs, but I guess we won't be able to see that anytime soon.

Apple, and other companies need to be able to focus on one product, they don't want to have to split the testing efforts and development among two different lines. They are doing it for the transition but its putting a strain on things I suspect.
And as the two line diverge in the future its going to be harder and harder to maintain both platforms properly.
It's not just the processor, its all the supporting chip sets and underlying foundation and OS's that they need to build and test for two different systems.
If it looked like a Power chip was going to be competitive they might think about it but it hasn't looked good in a long while and the odds of anything coming up isn't much now. So they are going to start migrating people towards a new unified system base don Intel.
IBM has always been a bit reluctant to do things the way Apple would like. It was the Altvec instructions made the G4 so great but IBM wanted nothing to do with, it was Motorola that insisted in put them in, IBM didn't want to, but after that IBM was forced to include the technology in subsequent processors because it became the heart of a Mac's media capacity.
The G5 was getting rather insanely hot running and not showing any signs of much improvement without massive investment in effort which IBM seemingly didn't want to put in for such a small customer base.
IBM and Freescale can beat Intel if they wanted to, but their interest have seemed to be elsewhere for some time now.
So If Apple did a dual line then they would be supplying even less they do now, its just not enough to bother with for the problems incurred.

I've been searching for a solution to my iMessage login problem for months and tried everything from those frustrating links and all the tips from other users.
Here is what finally worked:
1) Settings > Privacy > Location Services > On
2) Settings > General > Date & Time > Set Automatically > On
3) Reboot device until Apple logo appears
4) Settings > Messages > Sign In

Why can't I use my new IPad to pay in stores with apple pay?

I want to know why it is not possible to use your ipad mini 3 or ipad air 2 to pay with apple pay in stores. Why can you only use apple pay online with ipads and with iphones you can use them for in store purchases and online purchases. I mean I guess how it makes sense to apple, sense most people wouldn't want to bring there ipad a long with them to pay, but for some people, especially if you have the latest ipad mini which is like a phablet anyways, I feel like it would be nice if you could use it to pay in store with apple pay.

We have no clue as to what Apple may come up with in future models, but for now the snazzy tap&go allure of ApplePay can only be done using an iPhone 6 or 6plus.
Purportedly the rest of the devices can do thru-the-web Apple Pay-ment, but that's not as sexy and not as widespread.

If you are not in the US then you cannot use the US store, the store's terms say that you have to be in a country to use it - if you are using the US store then you are risking having your account disabled.

Is your Apple ID one of the old ones which isn't an email address but simply a username? you can't use that to make an iCloud account.
I'm not sure whether you can change the ID to an email address (such as a free GMail address) at http://applied.apple.com - you could try that; if you can't do that you will have to create a new Apple ID for use with iCloud. You can still use the present one for these forums and iTunes.

This answer is probably the most popular one on the forum. But apparently, this is a view not shared by virtually anyone else in the industry. You can pretty much point to the same risks at stake for Google, Microsoft, Yahoo, or what-have-you. No one else requires you to use a primary account other than their own.
The predicament you mentioned could easily be resolved by requiring multiple contact numbers and addresses, which Apple kind of does already.
My thinking is there's either something more 'sinister' at play, or Apple just haven't really took the time to think about this issue.

My iPhone 4 says I have to use wifi in order to use my FaceTime and I was wondering why can I just use my AT&T data connection instead.Every other iPhone could use their FaceTime but the 4 cant.We have an update to be able to use both ?
