Why Can't Camera Work with Windows Messenger for Mac and give output video?

I can see from the other end, but my camera won't come on so they can't see me. I hear them and can type in Messenger, but I'd like to have 2-way video, not just receive.
My camera works as I use it in Photo Booth, so that's not the problem. I can't find a way to setup the video within Messenger. Don't know if it's problem with Messenger or Leopard.
Whatever it is, it's very annoying that I can't output video.
Anyone with similar problem or have the answer? I'd be forever grateful!

Microsoft Messenger doesn't have video support on the Mac version. If you want crossplatform videochat, ask your friends to join AOL Instant Messenger. You can get video chat crossplatform between AOL Instant Messenger for PC & Apple's iChat which supports AOL Instant Messenger screen names. Skype is crossplatform too. An open source program called ophonex supports Microsoft Messenger's Netmeeting protocol for video chat as well. IRC is also crossplatform in videochat though its setup is a bit more complicated with the software known as Ircle for the Mac.

Voice over and windows messenger for Mac help

Hello,
I am using VoiceOver and would like to use Windows Messenger for Mac but I can't seem to get VoiceOver to read the contact list for messenger when I use the control-option-shift-down arrow to interact with the contents of the window it skips the contants list and goes straight to image behind it.
Is there a way to have VO read the contacts list in windows messenger or is it just not a compatiable program for VO?

Because even after 14 years MS has failed to add arabic support to most Office products for Mac. Instead use Open/LibreOffice or Numbers.

Lumia 920 does not sync with Windows Phone for Mac

I cannot sync any item between my Lumia 920 and with Mac.
Many users indicated that the problem encountered when syncing the Lumia 920 with Windows Phone for Mac is resolved by using the option "Allow access to folder" to the iTunes library. However, I have tried several times with many folders but cannot sync anything between my phone and my Mac.
I also modified the security options of my Mac by allowing the Windows Phone app to access my computer but with not success.
Any suggestions?

It seems to be a common problem that those drives don't perform well, at least not with Time Machine.
If you have more than one user account, these instructions must be carried out as an administrator.
Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
Make sure the title of the Console window is All Messages. If it isn't, select All Messages from the SYSTEM LOG QUERIES menu on the left.
Enter the word "Starting" (without the quotes) in the String Matching text field. You should now see log messages with the words "Starting * backup," where * represents any of the words "automatic," "manual," or "standard." Note the timestamp of the last such message. Clear the text field and scroll back in the log to that time. Post the messages timestamped from then until the end of the backup, or the end of the log if that's not clear.
Post the log text, please, not a screenshot. If there are runs of repeated messages, post only one example of each. Don't post many repetitions of the same message.
When posting a log extract, be selective. Don't post more than is requested.
Please do not indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into a message.
Some personal information, such as the names of your files, may be included — edit that out, too, but don’t remove the context.

Why won't itunes work with windows 8.1? i tunes can not locate my music.

Why won't windows 8.1 let itunes locate my music? I deleted and downloaded, still won't do it. But like majic after I installed windows 8.1 my computer had a XBOX music player appear, that found my 3200 songs and it was able to play the entire library no problem. Any ideas on how i get itunes to start working with windows 8.1?

Welcome to the Support Communities!
To resolve this issue you may need to uninstall iTunes and all of it's components, and reinstall the latest version as explained in this article:

ISight stopped working with windows messenger (bootcamp/parallels)

A few days ago I installed windows xp pro via bootcamp. After installing the drivers and everything, windows messenger was great with the iSight and everything. Just today I installed parallels, and after opening windows i no longer have a "webcam" installed, and i noticed that even my "speaker" and "Microphone" settings have gone back to "Intel(r) Integrated Audio"
Any ideas how i could get this working again? The audio actually works, but I just need windows to find my iSight again...

Parallels is not an application I have so I can not test this further.
I would think the answer may lie in the BootCamp forum where people may have tried the same thing as you or at any Parallels Forum you can find.

Why does Thunderbird not work with Windows 8.1

I have used thunderbird now for about 6 years, for all my website accounts. During that time I have had very few problems, about 9 months ago I started using Windows 8, I transferred all my accounts from my old machines running on XP pro to new machines running Win 8 and thunderbird ran ok. I have auto updates running so I am assuming both thunderbird and windows are updating whenever! About 4 weeks ago I started experiencing major problems with Thunderbird, it would start then freeze, then it would start again then freeze, if I ran it in safe mode it would work for a while. Now it opens and freezes, the message at the top just says ' Thunderbird is not responding'. Even in safe mode now it will not work! I have tried uninstalling and re-installing, I have even tried installing an earlier version of Thunderbird, I Have deleted the profile and forced it to produce a new one, I have spent hours trawling different sites trying to find an answer, and you know what, the only conclusion I could come to was, nobody seems to care whether this problem is solved or not, so reluctantly I have had to give up and I moved all my accounts to Outlook, which works perfectly with Windows 8.1. I think that should have been the answer, right from the start of the problem!

The point is, it shouldn't matter if you're using McAffee or Norton or not using any anti-virus at all. Thunderbird works on XP. Thunderbird works on Vista. Thunderbird works on 7. But despite what the FAQ says, Thunderbird does _NOT_ work on Windows 8. This is a problem that many people are having and Mozilla _OUGHT_ to be able to fix it.
I hate to bitch because Thunderbird is free and it's a damned good program. But this damned good program that worked through three earlier iterations of MicroSoft operating systems is unusable on 8.1. Anybody who has any knowledge of user experience can tell you that a program becoming unresponsive at random for anywhere from 1 to 3 minutes is simply not acceptable.
This problem has been known for quite some time now. Is anybody in Mozilla support even looking at it?

Why doesn't Timecapsule work with Windows 7?

I've been trying for a week and it just doesn't work. All I have is an expensive network switch not a network drive as it constantly crashes under Windows 7 and has to be unplugged and reinstalled only to crash again. I have a BT Homehub 3 and the Timecapsule does not work with it.

BT hub provides voip / phone services.. you will not be able to use any of them if you bridge it. And disabling wireless still doesn't take away double NAT if you keep the TC as router.
In fact it is harder than that. Because most ISP in the UK use pppoa authentication you cannot bridge the modem. So I am afraid you are stuck with bridging the TC or double NAT.. turning off wireless or not in the TC is no great issue.. they can work together.. simply by manually locking channels instead of auto selection.

Why does coverflow not work with windows 7

I installed windows 7 on my computer and now my iTunes does not show coverflow. I get a black screen that says "iTunes is unable to browse album covers on this computer."
I thought a patch would be issued to resolve this, but it's been quite a while and no changes. I use the most up-to-date copy of iTunes.
Does anyone have a solution?

Why can't I work with ColdFusion documents?

Um... just updated and went to open some ColdFusion files I normally work with but can't open them at all. They are grayed out. And there is no longer a ColdFusion option in the "New" panel. And in preferences you cannot select ColdFusion as the default document type.
Did I just miss where it is?

I sincerely hope that someone can offer me a solution to this latest (and quite frankly greatest hiccup in the world of coldfusion for me). I NEVER post on blogs, forums or otherwise as I can usually find what I need to know if I look around but this is not the case. I was anxiously awaiting the new cc for dreamweaver since the purported tools that would make my development much more integrated with the latest methods only to discover this morning that there was absolutely no coldfusion "anything" in the program. I thought it was the way I set up the panels. But nope...
Now I installed cfbuilder. ok, fine it will cover all of the "programming" part of coldfusion and it looks like it will do that better. I get that.
BUT, how exactly do you take the "ugly" stuff that cfbuilder will help me build and actually turn it into a website that the latest trends require? I understand that I can open the file in dreamweaver and make it "pretty" but the real issue is that so much of the time the "application" that I am building is very much a part of the "website" that I am building - ok, ALL the time. What exactly is the commonly accepted workflow that will make this whole thing flow properly without having to switch between completely different applications all the time.
My issue is that maybe I don't understand that cf is a website language for displaying on web browsers, or am I wrong for the past 10 years...
Yes, I develop "applications" that are not pretty sometimes for the customer that needs a program made for them custom, but that is so rare that it does not accompany a website that holds it all.
How is this accomplished? I know I ramble and I hope I got my point across. Can you help me with finding a solution that will allow me to continue to use coldfusion in beautiful css and jquery websites as my customers have come to expect.
