Why can't FCP X import MTS?

According to specs FCP is supposed to edit AVCHD natively.  I have a Panasonic TM700 which is on the supported list that produces MTS files which cannot be imported into FCP.  Any idea why?  I don't want to have to convert...

Why can I no longer import EDITED photo from my iPad to my Mac using Image Capture? This is farcical and a real problem having to email them individually to myself and is totally inefficient time wise compared to previously using image capture! Why change this when it was working well and very quickly until the latest change. Now I have to move files from downloads into an appropriate folder, after emailing each individual edited image to myself, then I have to open in Photoshop and rename the file. This is ludicrous and takes forever to do!

Thank you! I suppected it would be in the settings somewhere. I' ve much to learn...get myself into trouble pushing buttons I don't really understand.

There has been a change in where Firefox searches for plugins and the plugins folder in the Firefox program folder is no longer scanned for plugins, so Firefox won't find them anymore if they are installed in the plugins folder instead of the "browser\plugins" folder that Firefox now scans.
You can set the plugins.load_appdir_plugins pref to true on the about:config page to make Firefox scan the "<install>/plugins/" directory for plugins like the WMP plugin (np-mswmp.dll).
You can alternatively move plugins from "<install directory>\plugins\" to "<install directory>\browser\plugins\" (create this folder when missing) to make Firefox find them again.

  • Why can I no longer import Mp4r files from my desktop (Macbook Pro) to iTunes??

Why can I no longer import Mp4r files from my desktop (Macbook Pro) into Itunes?  Seemed to work perfectly well before the latest upgrade.  Feeling quite annoyed, especially when all the forums seem to give the same advice, which no longer seems to work!!  Please can someone help!  Uploading a file should not be this difficult!!!

Make sure you have the Quicktime Player 7 installed.  It was an option when installing Lion.  Or you can get it here: QuickTime Player 7 for Mac OS X v10.6.3 or later.  Install it, reboot and try again.

  • Why can I no longer import photos to iphoto library from the internet with a right click?

Why can i no longer import photos from the internet to my iphoto library with just a right click?

There are 9 different versions of iPhoto and they run on seven different versions of the Operating System. The tricks and tips for dealing with issues vary from version to version and OS to OS. So before anyone can help, they need information to work with. Basic stuff:
    - What version of iPhoto.
    - What version of the Operating System.
    - Details. What were you doing when the problem arose?
    - Did it ever work properly?
    - Are there error messages?
    - What steps have you tried already to solve the issue.
Anything else you can think of that might allow someone else to understand your issue.
With this kind of information somebody can develop a starting point for troubleshooting the issue.

  • Why can I no longer see .mts files on my Sony Video Camera

before I upgraded to Mountan Lion, I could hook my Sony Video Camera up to the USB port and see the .MTS files on my Mac. Now when I hook the camera up, I can no longer see the files. I have to hook the camera up to a windows machine, copy the files from the camera to a dropbox folder or DVD. Then I can see them on my Mac from the dropbox folder or DVD.  Why did I lose the ability to see the files directly on the camera?

  • Why Can't Aperture 3 Import Finepix HS20EXR .RAF Images?

Aperture 3 support page says that it can support .RAF RAW images from Fuji cameras, however it cannot open .RAF images from Fuji's Finepix HS20EXR. Any idea why this maybe? And is there a software that can convert these files into Aperture supported RAW images? Thanks in advance for your replies!

Each RAW file produced by a specific camera model is different from other models even if the RAW file extension (in this case .RAF) is the same. So it's not the extension that is important but the camera model that determines if a particular RAW file can be read by Aperture.
The list of supported cameras is given here. It does not appear that your camera's model is listed. You could try converting the RAW files to DNG using Adobe's free DNG converter and then importing the DNG's into Aperture.

  • Why can't photos be imported/manipulated one at a time?

I recently purchased an iPod Photo (60GB) and am highly unsatisfied with the software design with respect to the photos.
My problem is as follows: with respect to music, one has the ability to add and remove music files on an individual basis, and to manage them within specific playlists. Why then, is the same option not available with respect to photos?
The only way to add photos to my iPod is to synchronize the albums from my computer, which is problematic for several reasons. One, I basically have to delete every album and reload them (at this point I have 17 albums with over 1200 photos) even if I only want to add one photo. Two, I get a message telling me that not every photo could be uploaded into my iPod, but I have no way of knowing which ones were not loaded (you should be able to see the albums and their files - 01.jpg, 02.jpg, etc... - in the iPod list in iTunes, the same way you can see what music files are in each playlist). Three, synchronizing every album just so I can add a few photos is annoying and time-consuming.
As it stands, I am basically operating blind with respect to the use of photos on my iPod. It surprises me that a company that seemingly seeks to meet every needs of its customers would neglect to develop such a fundamental and basic feature in its software.
Is anything being done about this?

    Jamie:
Welcome to the Apple Discussions. I believe you've posted in the wrong forum. You want either the iTunes forum (for the computer type that you have) as it is the application that does the up and down loading of files to the iPod or the iPod Photo forum (again for the computer type that you're on). This is the iPhoto forum which is strictly image management and has nothing to do with the iPod.

  • Why can I export (and import)the different sizes that I put in the "Responsive Design View"?

    Hello
I have troubles when try to import or export the different sizes of the Responsive Design View, I manage at least 13, and it's a little preposterous to add one by one. There are a method that export/import them?
    Thanks

There is a way to store custom settings for responsive design.
You can create custom settings in the responsive design mode window.
You can hold down the Shift key and drag the borders via the (right border, bottom border, bottom right corner) resize icons to get specific dimensions and give the current custom setting a name to add them as a preset.
This will add the preset to the <b>devtools.responsiveUI.presets</b> pref that you can inspect on the <b>about:config</b> page.
Those settings are stored in JSON format.
    <pre><nowiki>[{"key":"360x640","width":360,"height":640},{"key":"768x1024","width":768,"height":1024},{"key":"800x600","name":"8x6","width":800,"height":600},{"key":"800x1280","width":800,"height":1280},{"key":"980x1280","width":980,"height":1280},{"key":"1280x600","width":1280,"height":600},{"key":"1920x900","width":1920,"height":900}]</nowiki></pre>
See this thread for some JavaScript code to add extra sizes:
    *[[/questions/957590]]
You can paste the existing JSON value of the devtools.responsiveUI.presets pref in the prompt and click OK.
Extra values can be added by typing its dimensions (<width>x<height> <name>).
You can paste the resulting JSON value back to the devtools.responsiveUI.presets pref or save it.

  • Why can't i delete imported photos on my iphone?

I traded in to get an iphone 6.  The store imported 3000 photos onto my iphone6..  I want to delete some of them, but there is no delete option.
    Help,

Sorry to hear about any unwanted photos that made it onto your new device! You can delete your photos by opening an album or collection, touch "Select" in the upper left corner, and choose all the individual photos you want to delete! Just touch the trash can in the lower left corner when you've selected them all. Get more tips and tricks for your new device right here: http://vz.to/1232Iuc

  • Why can I not just import my bookmarks from Chrome? I do not know how to do this html thing it says that I must do.

I have no idea how to make an html out of my bookmarks on Chrome, but it says that I have to do that to import my bookmarks. If there isn't an easy way to do this I'll just keep using CHrome even though I've been told that Shockwave won't crash as often with Firefox.

See this support article. <br />https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/import-bookmarks-google-chrome

  • Why can't reminders being imported into the calendar

On iOS 5 you could create events in the calendar to be reminded of such, but with iOS6 that feature was replaced by reminders app and you couldn't create events in the calendar anymore. The problem is that you can't do searches in the past with the reminder app unless you choose completed and with calendar app, one glance and you see all dates and appintement in a calendar format which is easier to read... with iOS7 we can create event in the calendar again but what about all the reminders now written in the reminder app while using iOS6?....they can't be transfered.... simple solution, get rid of the reminders and keep the calendar only or at the very least, offer the possibility to merge reminders and calendar together...
that is for both my iPad2 and iPhone5..

  • Why does iMovie '09 not directly import MTS files?

I see lots of posts of people having problems with their HD movies. I have 16GB of movies on my Canon HF100 that I cannot import into iMovie because of some weird iMovie bug where it is looking at the entire file structure on the card. I can reformat the SD card and shoot a few quick movies and iMovie '09 recognizes the card and imports just fine. The million dollar question is why can't iMovie '09 import MTS files directly? What about for people with archived MTS files? To me something is missing here. Either iMovie '09 has a bug importing or there is some super critical folder structure it is looking for before it imports. This is obviously not an isolated issue. BTW, I do not want to and should not have to use a third party file converter. Every conversion means loss in quality. Can someone at Apple address our issues? Is there possible a fix coming?

I have been searching for an answer to this question and no one seemed to have an answer. There is however a very easy work around thanks to the poster RodrigoPoloDOTcom.
    http://discussions.apple.com/message.jspa?messageID=10745889#10745889
Basically you can re-encode all of your MTS files very fast with FFMPEG and using the command ffmpeg -i myvideo.m2ts -acodec copy -vcodec copy myvideo.m4v
If you are on a Mac you can instal FFMPEG with RodrigoPoloDOTcom's method. Paste the following entries into the Terminal:
    curl -O http://rodrigopolo.com/ffmpeg/binkit/mac/binkit-v1.1.tar.gz
    tar xzvf binkit-v1.1.tar.gz
    cd binkit-v1.1/
    ./install.sh
    cd ..
    rm -rf ./binkit-v1.1
    rm binkit-v1.1.tar.gz
Then you can navigate to your directory that contains all of your MTS files and execute the following command from Terminal:
apply 'ffmpeg -i %1 -acodec copy -vcodec copy %1.m4v' *.MTS
I was then able to import my movies into iMovie '09 with ease. I do not understand why iMovie '09 cannot do something like this when trying to import MTS files directly.

  • Why can't iPhoto recognize duplicate pictures?

My dad recently reinstalled OSX on his computer. He regularly backs up his photos on discs and hard drives, so there's a lot of overlap. While importing the files back into iPhoto 6, duplicates of two, three, and sometimes four keep popping up. Why can't iPhoto not import duplicates like the camera import? We can't possibly sort through 10,000 photos manually!

    Check out
    Duplicate Annihilator
You might also like to research how to back up and restore iPhoto to avoid the problem occurring in the first place. For instance, if you've backed up the entire iPhoto Library Folder, then all you need to do is copy it back to the Pictures Folder and launch iPhoto - there's no importing. Something similar is the case if you've backed up using the Share -> Burn command. The specifics will vary depending on how you back up.
