Why can't I access extensions thru Add-ons Manager?

I just upgraded to version 8 on WinXP. Flagfox extension died on start up, so I tried to uninstall and re-install as suggested. However, Add-ons Manager says I have no Extensions, but Tools Menu lets me access and configure a number of extensions.

Well, after restarting Firefox enough times, everything seems to have gone back to normal. I even have extensions listed in the Add-ons Manager. I guess I have a successful upgrade to version 8, but it wasn't a pleasant experience.

Every time I open the browser the Welcome to Firefox tab is the first tab, then a second tab opens and thats my google, then a 3rd tab opens for me to reinstall my toolbar. This has been happening for a good year. Updates have not fixed it. Others have this problem. I did a search for an answer, the question is out there but no answer. Now if I go into add ons and add a background Theme or an extension it all is gone when I exit the browser. When I open the browser again I get all 3 tabs and have to install my toolbar again. I DO NOT want to reinstall as I will loose all my saved data, passwords, bookmarks, everything! I have had this computer for a year, Windows Vista x64 bit. Its not the computer, it's the browser. Problems with buttons and links at the top of the page not working can be caused by an extension like the Yahoo! Toolbar or a Babylon extension that extents too much downwards and covers the top part of the browser window and thus makes links and buttons in that part of the screen not clickable.

Can I hide or lock (with password) access to the add-on manager?

So users can't see what add-ons I have running? I don't want my (tech savvy) children knowing or being able to alter add-ons monitoring what they are viewing. I've caught my daughter looking at inappropriate stuff and she's a sneaky one so she tries to hide it.
I'd like to be able to restrict access to the add-on manager (through the menu bar as well) or hide it completely so only I can find it.
Is that possible?

Note that some extensions can be installed globally in the Firefox program folder and won't show on the about:addons page.

Yes, you are right. The web-based online help is available only for the current version of Photoshop. I also discovered how to access the online help that originally came on my CS4 disk. You turn on the offline option (Windows>Extensions>Connections). With the online help from the disk and the PDFs you pointed out, I am happy. Thank you very much. I would rather want the HTML and CSS sheets black or very dark grey and then the different HTML and CSS codes in colors rather than this plain black and white input. I cannot even view HTML and CSS side by side in the same window. I have to physically move my hand to switch views. Why isn't that an option that I can access?

The Preferences menu item is grayed out because there is no preferences dialog box yet. It sounds like you're asking for a number of different features, though. Edge Code is based on an open-source editor called Brackets, which is updated more frequently -- so some of the features you're asking about are available already in Brackets even if you're not seeing them in Edge Code.
More specific responses:
Dark color scheme -- this is available in the current Brackets release (View > Themes in the menu).
"HTML and CSS codes in colors rather than plain black and white" -- if you're not seeing color-coded CSS & HTML files in Edge Code, that's a bug. What is the file extension of your files? If you look in the status bar in the lower-right corner, does it say "HTML" or "CSS", or just "Text"? Can you post a screenshot of what you're seeing?
View two files side by side -- this will be available in Brackets release 0.44, which is probably due out in late September.
"I have to physically move my hand to switch views" -- you can switch files without taking your hands off the keyboard using Ctrl-Tab / Ctrl-Shift-Tab (next/previous in MRU order) or using Ctrl-Shift-O (to filter on filename or a subset of the filename).

Hi. My camera is a Canon 600D. And yes my videos are stored in the Aperture library and they are not referenced. Even then I tried to select all the videos in Aperture and clicked 'consolidate masters' and there was a messge that said all 'none of the files are referenced',... so they didn't need consolidating.
I also tried preferences> export> external video editor > choose > iMovie. And then right click on the video to edit with imovie. Even then the video didn't show up in iMovie. It seems like the only option for me is to import the videos directly to iMovie which means there will be two versions of the same file stored in my computer eating up space.

Clear the cache and cookies only from websites that cause problems.
"Clear the Cache":
*Firefox/Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"
"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:
*Firefox/Tools > Options > Privacy > "Use custom settings for history" > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
It is possible that the cookies.sqlite file that stores the cookies is corrupted if clearing cookies doesn't work.
Rename (or delete) cookies.sqlite (cookies.sqlite.old) and delete other present cookies files like cookies.sqlite-journal in the Firefox profile folder in case the file cookies.sqlite got corrupted.

Why can't I access photoshop cs6 on my computer?

Details: I launch the program and it prompts me to sign into my adobe account. I click "sign in," and then it loads for awhile. It then displays an error message specifying that I am not connected to the internet or that my pc's clock is not properly synched. I reset my internet connection and synched my clock , but to no avail. The same error message is displayed every time. Any ideas?

I'm using Windows 7 and I don't think I have any firewalls. But it has recently come to my attention that before my brother gave me this computer, he installed Clock Stopper to extend free trial programs. It's since been uninstalled, but could that program have messed up my clock permanently?

What OS are you using? Do you have any firewalls that you could potentially disable while loading this screen?
