Why can't I access iCloud on my iPad?

Every time I try to get onto the cloud on my iPad 2, it tells me to set up an account--I already have one. I use the cloud every Amy on my computer!

No need for obscure browsers:  download Google Chrome.
Head over the www.icloud.com
When you get the screen asking you to set up iCloud (like you do now) simply go up to the upper right corner of the screen, tap the three horizontal line icon for the drop down box, then select "Request Desktop version of page".
Chrome will load the normal iCloud login page you were expecting.
Everything works fine from that point.
Good luck!

  • Why can't I access iCloud from Snow Leopard?

I find it hard to believe that with all the loyalty that I've shown Apple through the years - literally thousands and thousands of dollars that I can't access iCloud through my iMac because it's not compatible with Lion. Is this true? Is there a work-around other than having to buy a newer Mac?

Your machine (by computer standards) is pretty old so even though it doesn't have the ability to be upgraded to Lion is still capable and can continue to be used for what you originally bought it for. In your case it's time to upgrade computers if you think iCloud is something you really need.
Why I understand your frustration just about everything moves forward so if you want to stay current you have to too. You can't really get angry with Apple (or any anything else for that matter) for wanting to move forward because old hardware that was never designed for newer software is left behind. My iMac while it's 5 years old still works fine for what I bought it for however I know Mountain Lion may be the limit it can support and I too will be forced to upgrade. Just progress, nothing more and nothing less.

  • Why can't I access iCloud from my wife's iPad?

We got the new iPad and we set it up so everything syncs with my wife's iCloud account. But it won't let me access icloud via the browser. Is there a way tor me to add an appointment in the calendar without having to get up and go to my computer?

I would understand your argument, only if allowing safari to access icloud was causing any problems to how IpAd is running (like playing flash content). But it is not.
Maybe I am missing something, but Apple shouldn't be the one dictating how I should be using my device. If I wanna share my device, I should be able ot share my device. I remember paying $500 for it, so actually, it is not up to Apple anymore... it is up to whether my wife feels like sharing it. Further, If you were stranded in the middle of nowwhere, you would like to be able to take my smartphone and access your email account to find a friend's number, right? That's just an example but there are many occasions that I, you, and pretty much anyone would share a personal device. Apple is re-writing the rules and people are just rehashing whatever rationale Apple provides.
If anyone has any idea how to fix this, please, feel free to share it.
    Thank you.

  • Why can't I open iCloud on my iPad?

Tried accessing iPhone 5, iPad, and iPhone 4S, and keep getting prompted to set up. Do you have to access iCloud via a laptop or PC?

If you mean that you are trying to go to iCloud.com in a browser on your iPad, you can't - unless you use a browser that can identify as a desktop browser like iCab Mobile or Mercury. All of the information that is in iCloud is already on your iPad...Notes, documents, contacts Photo Stream, email. There is no need to go to iCloud.com.

  • Why can't I access iCloud after resetting the password?

For months now I have not been able to access my MAC email thru Mail from our MacBook Air. After not bothering for a while (have other things to do like most of us) I have reset it again and same problem. I can access it from any (!!) other computer including the iPads, iMac and even my shielded Windows based work computer using MS Explorer... If I try to use Safari to log into the Cloud from the MB Air I also can not get in from the MB Air despite being able to from any other computer.
Can anyone help with this? I would be most grateful as this is more than odd...
P.S. I have deleted the account and tried to add it again using the new password.

OK, no responses (normally quite quick and helpful), could mean this is a unique failure or user error. I have just spent half a day trying to fix and searching on the internet for solutions but see nothing that works. I am close to ditching the Mail and Mac related email system if I can not resolve in the next 2 days or so. This is a big change so if anyone out there knows why this MB Air laptop does nto allow us to log in whereas other computers (Macs and otherwsise do) I would greatly appreciate your advice. I am sure this is an authentication issue but the cause is becoming irrelevant.
    Many thanks!

  • Why can't i access iCloud now i have changed my email address?

My email was hacked nand blocked so had to change my email address.. So i had to change my apple id as well. However, now i have done that it won't let me access my icloud as it keeps telling me to enter a password for my OLD email address, and it won't let me change it to my new one. I have some VERY important notes backed up onto icloud that I need, but now can't get them. (One was the security key for my iMac..) Is there any way i can get all my documents etc/iCloud back??

In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your iOS device, you need to delete the account from your iOS device first, then add it back using your updated details. (Settings > iCloud, scroll down and hit "Delete Account")
When you delete your account, all the data that is synced with iCloud will also be deleted from the device (but not from iCloud), but will be synced back to your device when you login again.

  • Why can't I access iCloud via IE or Firefox, but can via Safari?

I've posed the question, but don't know what to do next or whether I'll be able to remember how I got here to get back.  Thanks Apple for making Help so frustrating - running around in circles and getting no where.
btw, have been all over Apple with email/phone calls and appt at an Apple Store -- no help.
In the meantime, anyone have any input to my question?
    Thanks!

Apple is shooting its self in the foot again similure to the 80's pullout of small operating business sales. ICloud is a mistake. it is a one piston 8 cylinder engine. I cannot access my email from my company computer and will not be able to access it on my company phone. Fix this debacle. Does Apple intend to become more propriatory since Steve is gone? BIG MISTAKE!!! I now know 23 people that have given up their Iphones because of this. Since there has been no replies or strands developed over this input since February, I take it that Apple is Not Concerned and every one will follow the pack.
    Maybe, maybe not.
As you have given no information at all in your post it is not possible to respond in any sensible fashion to your problem, if you are looking for help please give some description of the issue, or if you're here merely to rant, carry on.

  • Why can I not access ICloud mail on Mac Mail anymore.  When I reopen a new ICloud account, the "incoming server" box is gray and I cannot enter anything.   This happened the 3-4 times I attempted to start a new icloud account?

Was getting ICloud mail then it stopped.   Icons next to ICloud on my mac mail say it's a netweork error.   I tried deleting the iCloud account several times and reentering it but it always leaves out the info that goes into the "incoming server" box and there is no way to manually enter it as the box is grayed out.

Sign out of iCloud (system preference>iCloud) reboot and sign back in.

  • Why can't I access my icloud account on iPad

Why can't I access my icloud account with iPad mini ?

On your iPhone iCloud is accessed automatically when you use the iPhone, I.e., contacts syncing, calendars syncing iCloud documents accessed, backups made, etc.
To enable iCloud functionality go to Settings > iCloud.

  • Just installed os x 10.8.3 and can no longer access icloud.

I can no longer access icloud, mail, etc. after updating to 10.8.3.  On the other hand, I seem to be okay on my iphone.  Anyone else have this problem or any ideas.
    Thanks

    Hello Alex,
Your problem appears to be different than what I experienced, which was a complete inability to access iCloud mail.  That issue is resolved for me now.  Here's what I did, but frankly I don't know why this worked. I'm not sure if it was all a coincidence and that the iCloud fix was rolled out to different countries at different times.
On my MacPro, from 10.8.2 with mail working correctly:
    1.  deleted the iCloud account from Mail
    2.  updated to 10.8.3
    3.  signed out of iCloud in Preferences and signed back in
    4.  readded the iCloud account in Mail (ensuring of course that the id and passwords are correct)
Again, I don't know why it worked but it did.  With this done, I repeated the process on my MacBook with success.  You can see if this works for you, but this is all I can offer as help.

  • Why can't I access my contacts in I cloud?

why can't  I access my contacts in ICloud.. Need to delete a number from ICloud

If you are trying to access them on your phone, make sure you are signed into your iCloud account and have Settings>iCloud>Contacts set to On.  If you are trying to access them online, go to https://www.icloud.com on your computer, log into your account and open Contacts.
