Why can't I buy books with iBooks on my iPad?

I attempt to purchase books with iBooks on my iPad. I can neither purchase the book by clicking on the price nor download a sample. I have no problem purchasing items on iTunes Store and internet connection is fine. This problem has persisted for several days. Please advise.

What happens when you try? More info would be helpful. In any case, the first thing to try is a reset, cures 99% of glitches. Hold down the home button along with the power button until you see the Apple, then let go.

What happens when you try to delete them from the iBooks app on your Mac ? If they are downloaded into the app (i.e. they don't have the cloud symbol on them) then you should be able to select them and then press the delete button on your keyboard to delete them.
In terms of the cloud, you can't permanently delete any item from your purchase history, all you can do is hide them so that they don't show for redownloading, which you can either do via your computer's iTunes : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4919
Or for the iBooks app you can go into the Store in the app, and on the Featured tab select the Purchased link under Quick Links on the right-hand side of the screen and hide them (hover your mouse pointer on a book and it should get an 'x' on its top left corner, click that to hide the book).

I purchased a book through ibooks with my ipad. I did not authorize a credit card to be saved and did not set up an account but it was there. I did not intend to purchase the book and assumed they would need to ask me for payment - the book went through. Now I do not know how to cancel this card so I will be asked for payment in the future.

You can't delete a credit card unless you replace it with another.
Simply enter some incorrect information if you want to stop the card being used.

Pages requires iOS 5 now as indicated on the app description page under the Pages icon. You will have to download and install iTunes 10.5 first on your computer in order to download and install iOS 5 for the iPad. Your profile indicates that you are running iOS 5. If that is the case, try restarting the iPad or resetting it and try again.
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.

Why can't i buy anything with gift card balance on authorized computer

I have gotten another computer. My son is using the one that I had put the gift cards on. I am trying to redeem the balance I have to buy songs but it won't allow me to do it. I haven't been able to find any answer to my question. Is anyone about to help me???

Perhaps if you provide more detail than just "won't allow me" someone can offer suggestions. As it is, you've not given us anything like enough information on which to do more than guess.

You can't buy movies because there is no permanent storage available on the Apple TV, nor is there anyway to transfer them from volatile memory to another location.
You can purchase them via iTunes and watch them on the Apple TV via homesharing or purchase them from your iPad/iPhone and watch them on the Apple TV via Airplay.

While that's an understandable desire, the publishers don't want you buying a book and sharing it with multiple individuals who others would buy it. The inability to "share" a book or pass it on to a friend or relative when you're done is one of the drawbacks of ebooks vs traditional print ... And consider that when you pass on a real book to your wife, presumably you're not reading it at the same time. :-)
Some other ebooks do allow limited (time-constrained) sharing of books - Barnes & Noble, for one, I believe - and they have an app for the iPad that would allow you to read books on it.

Because the itunes store, where you have credit, does not sell ipods.
Whether you understand it or not, you CANNOT use your itunes gift card for Apple Store Purchases.
It is ONLY for itunes store purchases.

See, I bought an iTunes card the other day and redeemed it that same day. After doing so, I pre-ordered a movie that was expected to be released on the 18th of March(today). So I tried to purchase the movie I pre-ordered with the credit I redeemed from the iTunes card, but it is asking for my billing information. So I clicked on the link where it says "To redeem code, click here", and it asked me to enter a code. My concern is why can't I buy that movie I pre-ordered with I the money I have in my iTunes account?

You didn't purchase the movie, you pre-ordered it. So the code works to put in the pre-order for the movie. So it's on hold, so to speak. Then when the movie comes out (and only then) are you actually billed, so you have to enter the code again in case you or someone else who has access to your computer used some -- perhaps too much of the credit in the meantime.
If I use a regular credit card and pre-order something, oftentimes there is some kind of perk or extra included along with it for me in return for pre-ordering. Like an extra feature for example. I don't actually get billed until I actually get the movie and so it's kinda like that.

How can i delete some books from ibook? It says: this book can't be opened. The book is corrupt. I can't open and I can't delete it

I was unable to delete a book sample from my iPhone 5s running iOS 7. This seems to be what worked for me. I went to the Library and clicked "edit" in upper right side of the screen. I then tapped one time on the book I wanted to remove and a blue check appeared at the bottom right corner of that book (presumably you could tap several at a time) Anyway, when the blue check is on the book, you will see in the upper left of the screen the word "Delete" (mine was in red) I clicked that and then a confirming dialog came up from the bottom of the screen with the choices of "delete" or "cancel". I chose "delete" and the book was gone. Hope this helps.

Can you share purchased books (from IBooks) with Home Sharing? Music seems to share fine-books seem to be a problem.

In iTunes go to Preferences > Sharing and either share your entire library or make sure the Books playlist is checked.
You may then need to click the Import button to copy the book into your Library, I was not able to actually read the book without taking that step.
