Why can't I clear a spreadsheet cell marked as having a circular reference?

I have a spreadsheet cell, FH67, with the formula " =30*FG67/sum(FG38..FG670) " that is marked as a circular reference. All cells referred to are either numbers or are the formula " = FD40*FE40 ". This should not be a circular reference! This same formula occurs in about every 5th column without any circular reference being noted.
The real problem is that I cannot alter that cell in any way without the rotating round ball appearing and then nothing can be done until I force quit AppleWorks.
I assume that something has corrupted the cell. How can I correct the problem?

It looks like a circular reference to me. The cell FG67 to be divided is also in the sum (FG38 through FG670). But I'll let you sort that out.
I don't get the spinning beach ball/lollipop when I accidentally create a circular reference, so I doubt that's the cause. The usual cause of that is a full Recent Items folder. Of course, any time you force quit AppleWorks, some corruption of the preferences is likely. First I suggest you check the Recent Items & then delete the AppleWorks preferences before trying that spreadsheet again.

Sorry you're having trouble doing such a simple task. Unfortunately, you are correct in your findings - unlike the desktop version of Skype, there's no way to simply clear your chat history in one swift motion other than clearing the data or uninstalling the app. You can, however, clear the chat history of a conversation by deleting it. The only downside to the workaround is the amount of time it would consume if you desired to remove every conversation.
Your feedback can change Skype, so do send the developers some using the app! They're listening, so you may send this (or take a chance that this gets noticed by developers) and other bright ideas you may have about Skype for Android. You might see some great changes in the upcoming versions!
The option to send feedback is within the Settings menu on the latest version of Skype.

If there are problems with updating or with the permissions then best is to download the full version and trash the currently installed version to do a clean install of the new version.

Why can't I open my spreadsheet from Numbers when I can open it from my iOS Devices?

When I try to open a numbers spreadsheet that is synced with my iCloud account; it gives me this prompt. I can still open it on my iPhone, my iPad, and the iOS website. When I try to do the new handoff application, it thinks about opening up Numbers but never does. If you have any ideas; that would be greatly appreciated.

Check the following settings on your Mac:
Go to the Wi-Fi icon at the top of your screen and turn on Wi-Fi if necessary.
Make sure your Mac and iOS devices are connected to the same Wi-Fi network. Go to Settings > Wi-Fi on your iOS device and compare the name of the network with the Wi-Fi network on your Mac.
Go to the Bluetooth icon at the top of your screen and turn on Bluetooth if necessary.
In System Preferences > General, select “Allow Handoff between this Mac and your iCloud devices.” If you don't see this setting, your Mac may not support Handoff.
Open the FaceTime app, go to FaceTime > Preferences and turn on “iPhone Cellular Calls.”

Your System Details List shows that you have a user.js file in the profile folder to initialize prefs each time Firefox starts.
The user.js file is only present if you or other software has created this file and normally it wouldn't be there.
You can check its content with a plain text editor (right-click: Open with) if you didn't create this file yourself.
The user.js file is read each time Firefox is started and initializes preferences to the value specified in this file, so preferences set via user.js can only be changed temporarily for the current session.
Delete a possible user.js file and numbered prefs-##.js files and rename (or delete) the prefs.js file to reset all prefs to the default value including prefs set via user.js and prefs that are no longer supported in the current Firefox release.

Why can't I clear my browsing history in safari

I am trying to clear my browsing history on my iPhone 4 but the bit ton is gray and won't allow me to select it in either the settings menu or in the actual browser. I also tries putting my safari app into private mode but for some reason cannot find the button... It should be in safari at the bottom when I choose to look at multiple tabs (or at least that's where I have always found it) but I don't see it anywhere. I am not sure if this is a problem with the new iOS update I just got or if I somehow changed my settings somewhere to not allow these functions but it is really annoying not being able to clear my history... Please help me figure out how to fix this

Why can't I clear the queue on my laptop.

I have a Photosmart C6380 all in one printer on a net work and one of the computers has a document in the queue that will not cancel . The laptop is a HP pavilion dv6000 running windows 7. I have tried to cancel the document with no success, it says it is deleting but never does. I have tried restarting several times but that doesn't help.

Your upgrade to Mavericks shouldn't pose a problem. Where is the form stored? Is the form (and the response file) on your computer? Or is it stored on Acrobat.com? You originally said you were receiving the response data, but then it stopped working. Did anything other than your OS upgrade change?

Clearing recent history caused ff to lock up in FF8 so I upgraded to FF9 and it doesn't lock up, but it doesn't clear history either.

Why can't I clear recent history in FF 4.0

Since downloading FF 4.0 I have been unable to clear recent history. The dialog box opens, I select time frame and click "OK". The box "hangs". After a period of time I click the "X" / Close button and FF closes et. al. Doesn't matter the time frame selected. I even tried it in "Safe Mode"...no difference.
OS = WinXP Pro SP3

It is possible that the file cookies.sqlite that stores the cookies is corrupted.
Rename (or delete) cookies.sqlite (cookies.sqlite.old) and delete cookies.sqlite-journal and cookies.txt, if they exist, in the [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox Profile Folder] in case the file cookies.sqlite got corrupted.

It seems that I cannot set a +81 (Japan) number as my Skype caller ID. What I don't understand is why this is the case, especially since over a hundred other countries are supported.
Caller ID is just a piece of metadata transmitted during call setup. What is so special about a number starting with 81? Does anyone have any insight as to the underlying reason?
[Please, Skype, don't respond saying it isn't supported. I know that. I would simply like to know the reason why your Japanese customers receive an inferior service.]

Why Can't You Clear Entries under Open Recent?

Seems simple enough, and despite my searching through several forum pages, I can't seem to find the answer. I saw that you can under the Apple Menu, but the Photoshop files stay intact.

You're right, too much of a hassle to go probing into code. It's not like I'm trying to hide anything nefarious or illegal. I used a co-worker's computer (who is out sick today) to open some files on a USB drive that I have that wasn't working on my computer. But when he returns, I didn't want him to think I was snooping around. No big deal though, since I am his supervisor anyway.

Why can I not clear previous email addresses?

I accidentally tried to login to my Amazon account with [email protected] instead of [email protected] Now when I use the Amazon login page and start typing ken etc it displays both the incorrect and correct email addresses in the drop down. However, if I select the correct one it replaces it with the incorrect one because it is at the top of the list!
Any ideas please?

Copy Japanese text without dots: why can't I copy the text in reader without having actual text copied, not dots?

I have tried to download japanese adobe, yet I can only have one adobe file, as the computer stops download. Is there a way to allow multiple adobe for each language you need? I read about OCR and DRM, yet the apps on the itunes store are only for ipads or iphones. I only have a mac book. Does Ipad include mac book and is it worth buying for one copy? I also thought that Adobe would allow for such copy of simple text with multiple language adobe. However, the only reader available is the one from 2011, so it is not up to date and is rejected by my computer as well.
Any thoughts or recommendation? Is there a website or google that has simple copy paste for japanese into a readable file for adobe reader in English?

Why can't I get a PID to tune without having an offset from setpoint?

I am using the basic PID algorithm supplied in the PID toolkit and after calculating the terms as described in the manual, my system controls quite well. However, there is about a 2-3 degree offset below setpoint on my heater.
I am just starting to use the toolkit and have it controlling a small heater on a piece of tubing, with a thermocouple on the inside wall.
I have turned up the proportional gain and gotten the offset to get smaller, as well as increasing the integral action. Ultimately the system has such high gains that it becomes unstable and begins oscillating wildly.
I have tried to leave the system alone for a long period of time and the integral term never seems t
o push the temperature the last little bit to the setpoint.
Is there anybody familiar with the toolkit and PID algorithms who could make suggestions about what I might try to get something a little better?
I am using Fieldpoint TC-120 modules to read the temperature and controlling the heater with a PWM-520 module. I have the duty cycle of the PWM module set to 1000 ms, and am running the PID loop at 500 ms. (maybe that is affecting my control)

I have encountered the same phenomenon.
Increasing the derivative action seems to dynamize the system so it will
reach the setpoint.
It is still strange to me, since all temperature controllers I use don't
need any derivative action.
