That statement is false. Copied directly from the iTunes Store Terms and Conditions:
"The iTunes Service is available to you only in( Insert country name here). You agree not to use or attempt to use the iTunes Service from outside these locations. Apple may use technologies to verify your compliance."
You need to be physically located in the country, its territories or possessions whose store you are trying to use.

I am sorry, but we have crap apps in South Africa!! I want to know why I cannot purchase apps from the US or Canada stores. I can purchase items over the internet with my credit card from stores in the US, so why not apps?

Yes, I know. It's all a bit silly in some ways, but even major countries seem to have problems dealing with the digital world. That world changes quickly, while governments tend to lumber on like the long dead giant herbivores. But in the evolutionary scheme of things that seems the rule: the bigger you are, the slower you move!.
From my travel experiences of 20 or 30 years ago, I can remember when you would be hard put to find Visa accepted widely outside of the US. Everyone preferred MasterCard or American Express. The latter was not overly liked because of the fees they charged vendors. Fortunately, that's not the case anymore, but it took those changes a while to happen. I recall my first trip outside of the US for which I had my Visa and AmEx cards. Then I discovered that no one took Visa. Even the local ATMs didn't accept Visa, and most did not like AmEx. Went to a local bank in order to get cash using the Visa card because that was my only recourse at the time. They told me I should have used a MasterCard. Who knew? Next trip I had a MasterCard in my wallet.

It's not Apple's choice. All content is licensed by the rights-holders to Apple to sell on a country-by-country basis, each country therefore has to have its own store and you have to be in a country to use its store. You can try requesting that the app be added to the UK store, but unless the rights-holder agrees to it then Apple can't sell it here : http://www.apple.com/feedback/itunes.html

If you are trying to download apps over 20MB in size, you can't do it via 3G. You can download them via WiFi.
When you go to iTunes on your computer, from the menu at the top - go to Store>Check for available downloads.

Then you can't use that app; not legally, and not even technically since it's tied to his iTunes Store account. If he purchased the app for you, he went about it the wrong way; he should have gifted it to you. If you want that app, you need to acquire it via your own iTunes Store account.

Why can't I download Apps from my iPhone to my Mac?

When I synchronise I get a message that I have not authorised my computer and I get a list of Apps that cannot be downloaded. I realised I have 2 Apple IDs, one from my previous email account which I shut down 12 months ago and I must have created a new one when I got another phone 4s. So, it appears the Apps I can't download are those purchased via my new AppleID. I have now opened the sames iTunes on my phone but still nothing is happening. I do not have a wireless connection right now, but use a USB internet connection.

When I started with my iPhone, I was adding contacts to the "On my iPhone" account because that was the default, and they didn't sync through the cloud. I changed the default account to iCloud and the new ones worked, but I don't think the old "on my iPhone" ones worked. Might have to export them and then import them. It's all fuzzy now and this was in IOS5.

You can have things the old way, and even if you don't choose to restore your tabs the next time Firefox starts you can still restore your through your history as John99 mentioned, should you change your mind after restarting Firefox.

I downloaded the new Firefox but it constantly freezes, doing absolutely nothing, and I can't even close it from my Mac dock bar, I have to turn off my laptop using the power button as Firefox won't let me shut down. What can I do?

I recently downloaded the new Firefox (Firefox 4, I think - you can tell I'm very tech savvy!) and it constantly freezes, I can't do anything with it at all - I can't even close it from the icon in my Mac dock bar.
I have tried restarting my computer - though I have to turn it off by using the power button as as Firefox is open and totally unresponsive it won't let me shut down. About a minute after re-starting Firefox, restoring my tabs or starting afresh, it freezes again.
This is obviously very annoying and I'm not sure what I can do about it. Firefox is my preferred browser, and I'd really like to be able to use it again!

This is not a reply. I just want to elaborate on this problem.
My computer freezes occasionally when it is used after being sleep for a while. The spinning ball appears and everything is totally disabled. Nothing on the keyboard works.
The mouse moves, but does not work.
The only solution is to turn the power off and on (losing all data in open applications.)
I kept the System monitor running on the side to find out which program was running when the computer froze. The Monitor as well as all other applications froze, but the data showed:
Firefox 18.4%
Activity Monitor 0.9%
Firefox Plugin 0.2%
This is all the information I have. By the way, I am using iMac with OS 10.6.

When I try to download apps to my new iPad Mini, it tells me my billing info has to be confirmed. After confirming with same info that is already there it tells me to contact support, no help up to this point.

Could the credit card be expired?
