Why can't I connect my iPhone 4 to my iPad 2 using personal hotspot in iPhone 4
I have iPhone 4, iPhone 5 and iPad 2. Since I use cellular data, sometimes I put one of my sims into iPhone 5 and use personal hotspot to serve as a router. The iPad 2 works perfectly but if I turn on the feature in iPhone 4, neither the iPhone 5 nor the iPad 2 can connect to the iPhone 4. It detects the iPhone 4 but doesn't connect to it. Is there anything I'm missing or is iPhone 4 personal hotspot is not programmed to connect to my other two devices using this feature.

Wi-Fi: Support for 802.11g/n using WPA2 encryption.
USB: Mac or PC with iTunes 9.2 or later installed.
Bluetooth: Mac OS X v10.4.11 or Windows.
Carrier requirements
Verify that your carrier supports Personal Hotspot for your device and that you have Personal Hotspot enabled on your cellular plan:
iPhone: View a list of carriers that support Personal Hotspot on the iPhone.
iPad and iPad mini: Check with your carrier for availability.

iPhone automatically registers your phone number for use with FaceTime and iMessage during activation.
To use FaceTime with your Apple ID, navigate to Settings > FaceTime and tap "Use your Apple ID for FaceTime."
To use iMessage with your Apple ID, navigate to Settings > Messages > Receive At and tap "Use your Apple ID for iMessage."
When you enable FaceTime or iMessage with an iPad or iPod touch, you will need to enter a valid Apple ID and password. Other users will be able to contact you on FaceTime and iMessage using this email address.

On your iPad, go into Settings --> Wifi. Does your iPad indicate your device is on a wireless network?
If so, can you verify your wireless network is correctly functioning?
If not, connect your device to a wireless network. If the iPad refuses to connect to a wireless network. Go into Settings --> General --> Reset --> Reset All Network Settings. If done correctly than you will NOT loose any data while reseting your network settings. After the reset, go back into wifi settings and attempt to connect to a wireless network. -

Can't Pair iPhone to iPad using Personal Hotspot
Hello. I have an iPhone3GS and an iPad (WiFi only). I recently updated my iPhone to use the new 4.3 software and see that it now has the "Personal Hotspot" option. I called AT&T and activated the functionality. However, it appears that I can only use the "Hotspot" via bluetooth or USB.
That's OK but I am trying to connect it to my Ipad. I cannot seem to figure out how to pair the iPhone to the iPad. In the Bluetooth screen, neither of them will show the other. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4517

After updating to iOs 6 when I try to connect to my wifi network it pops up with the apple website and login and says the page you requesed cant be found on the pop up.??
Confused.The Apple Support person walked me thru this. If you have the classic 'greyed out' wifi problem with your iPhone 4s. Very easily fixed:
Read all instructions before starting:
1. Try to toggle on/off airplane mode check.
2. Try the old turn on/off trick. Check.
3. Try resetting Network Settings. Settings > General > Reset Network Settings Check.
4. Ensure your phone is backed up to iCloud before proceeding. Very important you do this. Check.
5. Wipe your phone. Settings > General > Reset All Settings. Keep in mind this will wipe your phone but you have that iCloud back up.
6. Check if wifi is working. No, then no prolbem: You have the option to have your 4s fixed which is probably out of warranty. No deal? Ok, you have the option of purchasing a new phone? Still no deal? Proceed to next step if these options are no good and you decide to live without wifi.
7. Restore your phone from the iCloud. Oh, you don't have wifi. Then you can't restore your phone.

Why can't I sync photos from pc to ipad using icloud?
I am trying to use icloud to sync photos from pc to ipad. The photos are in the photostream upload folder on the pc.
It works the other way round, though, photos from ipad appear on pc.
Another thing: am I not supposed to have an icloud icon on the ipad? I dnon'tAs a followup to my question-------- Calendar dates work OK going to and from the PC and Iphone, only the contacts when entered on the phone are not syncing to the PC.

On your iPhone iCloud is accessed automatically when you use the iPhone, I.e., contacts syncing, calendars syncing iCloud documents accessed, backups made, etc.
To enable iCloud functionality go to Settings > iCloud. -

the iPhone uses active sync. Desktop clients do not. Desktop clients use another exchange protocol (which i can't remember as i'm not a microsofty).
Just because you can access via active sync doesn't mean you can access it by other methods, and vice versa. -

You must have had find my iPhone on, or it was locked by your phone carrier.
Call your our cell carrier first.
then log on to a computer to iCloud to erase your iPhone.
NOW... You will be able to setup with a backup. -

Why can't I connect my iPhone 4 via bluetooth with my Macbook Pro Version 10.7.5?
How come that the bluetooth connection won't work. On the computer shows it is paired and is working properly while on the iphone shows not connected.
The only thing you can do with bluetooth and your mac is for the mac to share the internet connection using personal hotspot on your phone. Other than that you cannot use bt to transfer files or sync the phone with the mac.

Why can't I connect to my iphone5 with my iPad, Snote2 or another iPhone5 through wifi as a hotspot, only through Bluetooth? My Snote2 can't even find the iphone5 as a hotspot, even on Bluetooth.
I've reset, restored and updated everything but no go.WiFi is preferable for use as a hotspot to Bluetooth.
Have you tried Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings?
If you have and it didn't work I would take the iPhone in for service.
