Why can't I connect to Exchange Server 2003? I'm using OS Lion. My iphone connects, what am I doing wrong?

the iPhone uses active sync. Desktop clients do not. Desktop clients use another exchange protocol (which i can't remember as i'm not a microsofty).
Just because you can access via active sync doesn't mean you can access it by other methods, and vice versa.

You haven't opened an account with that Apple ID in iTunes. Open iTunes and log in. A dialog will appear in which you need to enter your Apple ID and/or password. Below it you should see a link for creating a new account. Click on that link to get started.

My ipad2 I just got today can't seem to recognize the net. I do have the wifi turned on. What am I doing wrong?

I just received my ipad2 today, and did all the sync routine. The wifi is working, but I can't seem to access the net. I get an error message stating "Cannot open page, Safari cannot open the page because it is not connected to the Internet." What am I doing wrong?

Tap Settings in the Home screen then tap General / Reset / Reset Network Settings.
Then restart the iPad. Press and hold down the Sleep / Wake button until you see the red slider then swipe to the right to power off, then hold down the Sleep / Wake button until you see the Apple logo.
If that didn't help, try the iPad Wi Fi help here.

You can try the standard fixes:
- Reset. Nothing will be lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Restore from backup
- Restore to factory defaults/new iPOd.
However, some accessorie,s like car systems, stopped working after iOS 5. Have you contacted the manufacturer of the car sytem?

Outlook 2007 on XPsp2 OEM unable to connect to Exchange Server 2003??

My outlook 2007 came part and package of the Microsoft Office 2007 Enterprise Edition, and our SBS server runs Exchange 2003.
After setting up the connection in Outlook to connect too Exchange (when clicking test (check name) on configuration it is successful) --
The Error Message is so upon start up :
Cannot Open your Default e-mail Folders, You must connect to microsoft exchange with the current user profile before you can synchronize your folders with your offline folder file..
When disabling the cached exchange mode the error message changes however, but it is still unable too actually open outlook.
Cannot open your default E-Mail Folders. The Attempt too log on to the exchange server failed... (after in the configuration the test suceeded.)
The computer has a fresh copy of XP SP2 OEM, as well as Microsoft Outlook, only other software on is SQL server 2000 (All microsoft Updates installed). The active user is domain controlled and has the same credentials as is used by Exchange.
After selecting the checkbox under Control Panel -> Mail -> ......... "User Identification" -> Always prompt for login credentials no change is made to this error....
I then disabled the use of offline folders..... "could not open your default email folders. The information store could not be opened"
Please provide assistance in any way possible.... ASAP as well if possible.

I had all the same problems you had, and did the exact same things you did to no avail.
This is what solved my problem:

Click Start, click Run, type regedit in the Open box, and then click OK.

Locate and then click the following subkey:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Outlook\RPC
3.
On the Edit menu, point to New, and then click DWORD Value.
4.
Type DefConnectOpts, and then press ENTER.
5.
Right-click DefConnectOpts, and then click Modify.
6.
In the Value data box, type 0, and then click OK.
7.
Exit Registry Editor.

Losing connection with Exchange Server (2003)

The cause of losing the connection is me disabling the Users Accounts in our MS Domain for Maintenance on the Network.
I assume there must be a certain amount of time where the iPhone trys to connect to the exchange server and then time's out or something like that.
Too get the connection back is usually a restart, turn off on on wifi or airplane mode or reenter the account password.
Any ideas on how I can still disable the user accounts and not have the iPhone's lose their connection or time out?

I don't think this is possible. I use Exchange server at work, so I can tell you what it will do:
- You can do "over the air" IMAP e-mail to your exchange server (if your IT dept supports it)
- You can desktop sync your appointments and edit the from the phone (Edit from phone means view notes, times, etc -- you cannot change attendees, etc.)

Top right hand corner. Should be a button that says "Blarebees's iPhone" or whatever your phone is called.
Click that button. Then you can browse your phone an sync all your stuff.
If it doesn't show anything about an iPhone, then thats a bit weird. Phone a friend.

I can't get my Mac mini to recognize my music on my external hard drive. What am I doing wrong?

I am converging all my computers at home to macs, I recently got a mini and have all my music on an external hard drive. I can't seem to get my mini to register any of my music on my external, it does however register my movies, pics, and tv shows. I am at a loss!!

If this is a Windows formatted (NTFS) drive, by default, OS X will not see anything on it. If it is formatted FAT32, then OS X can access the files, like it does on my external 1TB drive with 8GB of iTunes music.
Once mounted on your desktop, open disk utility, select the drive name in the left column, and click the Info button. You are looking for the File System entry. If it is not NTFS, then under First Aid, click Verify the drive.

I have tried several times to unlock my daughter's ipod touch by following the instructions, but so far I cannot turn the ipod back on. After yo successfully download the file, plae the iPod in recovery mode and try a restore.
It sounds like the file is not fully downloaded before the recoverymode expires on the iPod.

Snow Leopard-Exchange Server 2003-Entourage 2008 (12.2.1)

I understand that I won't be able to use the new Snow Leopard built-in Exchange Server support.
*But, if I upgrade to Snow Leopard...will everything stay happy with what I've been running?*

There are connectivity issues between Exchange Server 2003 and Exchange accounts in Entourage 2008 running on Snow Leopard. These connectivity issues are also evident via web-based email (Safari & FireFox) on Snow Leopard and Exchange Serve 2003.
You will eventually loose connection to Exchange Server 2003. Restarting your computer will solve the problem temporarily.
POP accounts appear to work fine in this environment.

My company is using an Exchange Server 2003 and Im using both an Iphone 5s and a MBA OSX.
All Exchange features are seamless on Iphone (mail, contacts, alendar AND NOTES)
On my laptop MBA:
- I used to use Outlook for mAc in which the notes were working but I had to go away from this (issue rebuilding too often and incompatibility with Wrikes etc.)
- so I now use Mail, Ical, Contacts and ... I wish Notes! - but I cant get Notes to pick up the exchange server notes ... no error message just nothing happens (yes the account exchange is set up for all features and Notes is checked) ... Im puzzled - Am I alone experiencing this please?

I saw one post where a user said dust got inside the small microphone hole. Using a vacuum cleaner removed the dust and restored the audio.
