Why can't I connect to my home WiFi network with my new iPad Mini?

Why can't I connect to my home WiFi network with my new iPad Mini when I can connect to free WiFi networks at cafes and public areas?

Try this:
1. Turn router off for 30 seconds and on again
2. Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings

  • Why can't I connect to a Wi-Fi Network with 7 or below digit password? What should I do?

I can't connect to a Wi-Fi Network with just 7 or below digits of password. What should I do?

What are you trying to do the password on .. I have never noticed that it is limited to specific lengths unless you use WEP.. surely you don't use wep.

  • Why can't I connect to my home WiFi after the 8.3 update?

I have updated my iPhone 6 to the latest iOS 8.3 and now I cannot connect to my WiFi at home, why? I've done a clean install and rebooted my home router and still no connection. However the device does connect to my workplace WiFi.  All my other devices are connecting to home router as well.

Do you get an error message?
Reboot your router again, but this time do it by removing all power for about 30 seconds.
If it still doesn't connect and doesn't display an error, wait 1 minute after selecting the SSID on the phone, then go to Settings/WiFi and tap on the i next to the SSID. Look at the IP address. If it begins 169.254 then it's a router problem; the router has failed to assign an IP address to the phone within 30 seconds of a request from the phone. The phone then self-assigned an ad hoc IP address.

  • Why can't I connect to my Home wifi?

I have one everything I can think if but my ipad mini will not connect to my home wifi

Have you worked through http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1398 and if the WiFi is greyed out, http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1559 and have you tried a full restart of the router by shutting down, wait about 10 minutes and then restart it, restarting other equipment one piece at a time waiting a few minutes for each to capture a new IP address.

  • Can't reliably connect to my home wifi network

My wifi keeps cutting out on my macbook pro, and when it does work, it's VERY slow!  My ipad and iphone have no problem connecting to the wifi network, and it works fine on those devices.  I tried using network preferences and network diagnostics and all that, but it's had no effect.  It's been like this since I had the internet and cable installed (about 1 week).  The modem is on a wooden shelf, not sitting on a carpet floor or anything.  I've checked the wires leading to the modem, and they all seem connected and fine.  Is this a problem with my computer or the wifi modem?  What else can I do to try and fix this?

In About This Mac > More Info ... > System Report ... > Network > Wi-Fi, how many other wifi networks do you see besides your network? And do any of the others have the same channel number? If so, might be worth trying a different channel. IIRC, that is done in Airport Utility (if you have an Airport base station).

  • TS1398 I have an original iPad 32 why can't I connect on my home wi-fi but can connect anywhere else. No problems at home connect with other iPads and MACs.

I have an original iPad 32 why can't I connect on my home wi-fi but can connect anywhere else? No problems at home connect with other iPads and MACs.

    Some things to try first:
    1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
    2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
    3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
    4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
    5.  Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)
        •    Launch Settings app
        •    Tap on Wi-Fi
        •    Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
        •    In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.

I have just updated the i06 software for my iPad and it will not connect to my home wifi network - all my other devices are able to connect to my wifi network.
I have attempted all troubleshooting actions suggested and nothing has worked. I have restored my iPad network and factory settings - Please help - this is frustrating me

you have to set up your router to solve th problem. first find and write down the ipad mac address.
then log on to your router using your laptop or any device that can connect to router at 192.168.0.1 in your web browser. please check out my posting about how to resolve the wifi connection problem.
i think the ios6 update has reset the networking but if you set up the router then you should not have the same problem any more.

  • Why can't I see all servers on my network with Lion?

Why can't I see all servers on my network with Lion, but I can with Snow Leopard? Am I missing a setting somewhere? This is really frustrating and I'll have to go back to snow leopard if it can't be fixed. I can see other macs fine, but network servers and PC servers are missing. Sometimes they do appear in 'Shared All' and I can connect OK, but then they disappear again. Is this a bug with Lion, or am I missing something really simple? I can't work properly at the moment, so Lion has been a disaster for me. Any help really appreciated. Thanks

  • 3GS wont connect to my home WiFi network

Ok got a 3GS, trying to get it connected ot my home WiFi network (I have a touch which connects fine)
I switch on wifi, it finds my network, and has a tick next to it but it doesnt show any IP or details on the page, and no WiFi strength bar on the top of the status bar (although shows good strength on the WiFi setting page)
I do use MAC filtering but added it, tried it on/off and nothing. I also use WPA2, and typed in the p/word fine, as I say my iPod touch connects fine
Can someone help this is driving me nuts
    cheers

I found a typo in my MAC filtering, but as I said I tried with this off and it didnt work then?
But now it does connect but now I have another question please...
Anyway, it connects, but now I make my SSID invisible, I put the network in OTHER on the iPhone and it connected, but how do I make the iPhone remember my Hidden SSID WiFi network so it connects everytime without having to manually enter in SSID/Password etc? or is this not possible

  • TS1398 Since I upgraded to iOS 7.0.2 my phone will not auto-connect to the home WiFi network.

I upgraded my iPhone 4S to iOS 7.0.2 and now my phone will not auto-connect to the home wifi network.  Each time I leave and return to within range of the network I have to remember to manually connect, otherwise it continues to use 4G for data.  The credentials are saved (all I have to do is tap it to connect) but just won't happen automatically any more.
Is anyone else seeing this problem?

Tried the reset multiple times. No go. Before the IOS 7.0,2 update my devices were connecting to home WIFI eventually.

  • My iPad2 no longer connects to my home wifi network but there is no problem connecting to other saved wifi networks. Currently using iOS8.0.2. with storage capacity of 12.2Gb but only 147Mb free. Disconnecting the router and rebooting the iPad worked

My iPad2 no longer connects to my home wifi network but there is no problem connecting to other saved wifi networks. Currently using iOS8.0.2. with storage capacity of 12.2Gb but only 147Mb free. Disconnecting the router and rebooting the iPad worked briefly as a temporary fix but not anymore

    You could try this
Temporarily disable security on your home network
    See if the iPad connects
If it does then reset the security - with the same or different password

  • My iphone 4S is not able to connect to my home wifi network although it easily connects to others. Infact, i have tried connecting another iphone with my home network without any difficulty. So its just my new iphone 4S that is not connecting.

My iphone 4S is not able to connect to my home wifi network (BSNL). It does detect it and even tries to connect to it but in vain. However, it connects to all other available networks easily. Another interesting thing is that all other devices including an iphone 4 easily connects to this home network. So what is the problem with iphone 4S???

There are two ends to a wireless network. Try rebooting your router. Just pull the power for a few seconds and replug. No settings are lost.
(The fact that all your other devices connect to the internet is irrelevant)

  • My iPhone 3G won't display or connect to my home wifi network

    Hello!
I have an old iPhone 3G that my dad gave me a long time ago. It had some problems, but I figured that's just 'cause it's old. But now I really don't know. One of its biggest (and only) problems is that it refuses to connect to my home wifi network. In fact, when I go to Settings > WiFi, it won't even display my network (it did once, but failed to actually connect), or any network, actually. I found once that in Settings > General > About > Network (Not Available), it tells me "SIM not provisioned". I've heard that you don't need a SIM card at all to use wifi on an iPhone, so what's going on here (in case I didn't make it clear, I do have a SIM card in the phone, and this problem occurs whether it's in or not)? Do I need to activate my SIM card (and if so will it cost me anything)? Or is my iPhone just whack?
If I wasn't clear in my question, please ask for clarification in the comments.
    Thanks!

We now have two older phones that will not recognize one of our networks.
