  • Why can't I connect to WiFi?

Why can't I connect to WiFi when asked for a password, but I can connect to the same WiFi if no password is required?  When I type in the password, I get the following message, "There was an error joining the AirPort network "Verizon SCH-LC11 d8dd Secure".
When using my PowerBook G3 Pismo, running 10.4.11, I have no problem connecting to any WiFi that does not require a password.
But I get the same error message when a password is requested.  I have removed the password requirement from some of my WiFi options, and make the connections and internet functions correctly.

Judging from what you wrote, because there is something wrong with the settings or the password or passphrase. Make sure all devices use the same type of encryption, and make sure you enter the correct password. WRT to this, read

    Bad idea.

Since upgrading to 7.1.1 last week, I can no longer connect to WIFI on my iPhone 4S

No, it is not a known issue. It is a known non-issue. Try resetting your IMAP login ID and password. Both the incoming and outgoing. If that fails delete the account reboot the phone, and add it back.

  • Why can't i connect to wifi after updating to iOs 6 on my iPhone 4s

After updating to iOs 6 when I try to connect to my wifi network it pops up with the apple website and login and says the page you requesed cant be found on the pop up.??
    Confused.

The Apple Support person walked me thru this.  If you have the classic 'greyed out' wifi problem with your iPhone 4s.  Very easily fixed:
    Read all instructions before starting:
    1.  Try to toggle on/off airplane mode check.
    2.  Try the old turn on/off trick.  Check.
    3.  Try resetting Network Settings.  Settings > General > Reset Network Settings  Check.
    4.  Ensure your phone is backed up to iCloud before proceeding.  Very important you do this.  Check.
    5.  Wipe your phone.  Settings > General > Reset All Settings.  Keep in mind this will wipe your phone but you have that iCloud back up.
    6.  Check if wifi is working.  No, then no prolbem:  You have the option to have your 4s fixed which is probably out of warranty.  No deal?  Ok, you have the option of purchasing a new phone?  Still no deal?  Proceed to next step if these options are no good and you decide to live without wifi.
    7.  Restore your phone from the iCloud.  Oh, you don't have wifi.  Then you can't restore your phone.
This is where i got dropped off the bus.

  • I can't connect to wifi with my iPhone 6

My iPhone 6 will not connect to wifi. I have restarted it, restored network settings. I have shut off the key chain in iCloud.

    Hi bgb07,
If you have an issue with your iPhone not connecting to any Wi-Fi networks, and you have already tried restarting the phone and restoring your network settings, I would suggest that you back up any data on your iPhone and restore it as a new device. See this article -
iOS: How to back up your data and set up your device as a new device
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.

  • Can't Stay Connected to WIFI with brand new MBA

I just set up my new MBA, and cannot stay connected to wifi, no matter what I do. Sitting next to my MBA is my IPAD and IPhone which both show wifi connection working. I have followed the advice from the community posted in August ( wish I knew the MBA wifi problem before buying), with no luck. No other devices shows wifi connectivity problems, router works great, and I cannot download any patches due to connectivity issue.  UGH.  Any wisdom to share?
    Thanks

Have you tried connecting to other WiFi connections? If so does it do the same?
If not, it might just be to do with the amount of periphirals on your current router and subsequently your router is kicking off you iPhone.
Or you could try changing your broadcasting channel in your internet router settings and see if this fixes it

  • Can't connect to wifi with my iphone 4...

Worked great for months, changed to another network and when I got back to my network I changed it in settings and it won't pull up any websites.  Nothing else has changed, thats it.  Wifi is turned on in settings.  I also restored network settings.

Looks as if it is to do with your iPhone, if it can't find any Wi-Fi networks and they are turned on and set to discoverable, even after restarting the router it's still unable to find it my recommendation is to do a restore through iTunes, the update may not have installed properly, I have an iPhone 4 16GB (Black) running iOS 5.0.1 and it finds my Wi-Fi networks and log's onto them no problem, so clearly the software works, just seems that your iPhone is having a bad time
You've done everything else I'd reccommend, normal re-boot, soft reset, reset network settings.
Think it's time to do a full back up in iTunes and do the restore, then see if that resolves the issue, be sure to let us know how it goes if you do decide to do this.

  • HT1695 Cant Connect To Wifi With Case Iphone 5

I just got a case in the mail today for my iphone 5 and noticed right away that it wont access my wifi with it on. As soon as I remove it I can instantly connect to wifi. Very disappointed.
The case is just a thin slip over. Nothing big and bulky.
    Anyone else experiencing this?

Its plastic with a thin sliver of aluminum on the back.  The back of the phone is metal, so that shouldnt matter, right?

  • Why can I only text 10 people with the IPhone 4s

Why can I only text 10 people at a time with the IPhone 4s?

Apple has, to the best of my knowledge made a statement about why they have included this limitation. To prevent spamming perhaps? There are group texting apps available in the App Store that my suit your needs.

  • Why can't we connect to websites with iPad from Mexico

My wife is in Mexico with her iPad Air (running iOS 8.x) and has no trouble connecting to our son's wifi router. Whenever she attempts to connect through it to a website, however, it always times out. She is also unable to get to her email. She is using Safari and the standard email client on the iPad, and has never had a problem connecting before, either at home or at other locations in the states.
The local ISP is Telemex, and our son and his wife have no problems with their MacBook Pros, and I had no problem with my Windows Phone (8.1). I've seen suggestions about the authorities blocking sites, but she can't get to sites that we can on other machines, so that's not it. The iPad Air is just not getting through, which makes me think there must be some configuration setting that I don't know about.
    Any ideas?

You may not really be connected to the WiFi network.
Your router may not have given your iPad a valid IP address. Go to Settings > Wifi > your network name and touch the "i" to the right to see the network details. If the IP address starts with 169 or is blank then your router didn't provide an IP address and you won't be able to access the Internet.
Sometimes the fix can be as simple as restarting your router (remove power for 30 seconds and restart). Do not reset the router. Next, reset network settings on your iPad (Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings) and then attempt to connect. In other cases it might be necessary to update the router's firmware with the latest from the manufacturer's support web pages.
If you need more help please give more details on your network, i.e., your router make, model and version, the wifi security being used (WEP, WPA, WPA2), etc.
