Why can't I connect via Bluetooth on iPhone 5

I am unable to connect anything via Bluetooth on my iPhone 5. It constantly searches but never finds anything. Help need to be able to use my hands free ear piece. Any advise appreciated :-/

Typically bluetooth is for an input or output device like speakers, headphones, keyboard....
i Know it is being used for the continuity and handoff feature.  If that is what you are trying to do, hang on till a user with more experience with those apps replies.  (I do not have an iPhone, so can't use these apps )

Because the iPhone does not support the BlueTooth file transfer profile. The only phone to computer profile supported is for tethering.

  • Why can't I connect via isqlplus when via sqlplus I can?

I don't know why my connect string sopra/sopra@sopra_toshiba works fine for sqlplus but not for isqlplus where I get:
    ERROR:
ORA-12154: TNS:could not resolve service name
What can the problem be? It seems as it can't find the tnsnames entry.
This is the tnsnames entry being used:
    SOPRA_TOSHIBA =
    (DESCRIPTION =
    (ADDRESS_LIST =
    (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = toshiba)(PORT = 1521))
    (CONNECT_DATA =
    (SID = sopra)
    (SERVER = DEDICATED)

This is a wild guess. But would iSqlPlus use a tnsnames.ora file associated with the (web) server ?

  • Why can't I connect to samsung or htc device via Bluetooth?

Why can't I connect to samsung or htc device via Bluetooth? or can't copy any picture or song from my laptop to Iphone 5?

Because this has never been a feature of iphone/ipad/ipod touch.
Ipod touch/iphone/ipad support bluetooth for handsfree telephone devices, stereo speakers/headsets, some keyboards, some peer-to-peer apps form the app store, and internet tethering where provided by the carrrier.
Otherwise, they will not connect to another phone/device/computer.

  • Why can't i connect to any of my bluetooth devices that i have already paired?

Why can't I connect to any of my Bluetooth devices i have already paired with?

You say "I am paired" but unless you are a Bluetooth device yourself, what device are you trying to send files from? A computer? A mobile phone? If the latter, which one?
To send files Mac to Mac, Bluetooth Sharing needs to be enabled on both Macs in the Sharing system preferences pane.
If you are trying to send files between a Mac and an iOS device via Bluetooth, then that won't work as iOS devices don't have that functionality.

  • Why can't I connect to my  iphone5 with my iPad, Snote2 or another iPhone5  through wifi as a hotspot, only through Bluetooth?  My Snote2 can't even find the iphone5 as a hotspot.

Why can't I connect to my  iphone5 with my iPad, Snote2 or another iPhone5  through wifi as a hotspot, only through Bluetooth?  My Snote2 can't even find the iphone5 as a hotspot, even on Bluetooth.
I've reset, restored and updated everything but no go.

WiFi is preferable for use as a hotspot to Bluetooth.
Have you tried Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings?
If you have and it didn't work I would take the iPhone in for service.

how can i use my iPhone 4 and connect via bluetooth with my macpro

The only way that you can connect your iPhone to the mac is to use it for a "Wi-fi hotspot" meaning that you can use the celluar connectivity of your phone to connect your computer to the interent.
Do you mean a MacBook Pro of the desktop MacPro?

My MacBook Air and my iPhone are coupled but they cannot connect via bluetooth. How can I solde this ?

For what purpose are you trying to connect them?
The only supported Bluetooth function between a Mac and iPhone is internet tethering.

    Hello dwighthomer47,
Thanks for the question. After reviewing your post, it sounds like the iPhone is not connecting to several bluetooth devices. I would recommend that you read the part about being unable to find the other device, it may be able to help you isolate or resolve the issue.
iOS: Troubleshooting Bluetooth connections - Apple Support
Bluetooth disconnects, intermittent connectivity, or unable to find
Move your iOS device closer to the Bluetooth accessory.
Position your iOS device and Bluetooth accessory in direct line of sight of each other. For example, move the Bluetooth accessory and iOS device to the same side of your body.
Remove any case, stand, or other accessories from your iOS device and see if performance improves.
Check for sources of potential interference and move both the iOS device and the Bluetooth accessory away from other electronic devices.
Reset network settings by tapping Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. This will reset all network settings including: previously connected Wi-Fi networks and passwords, recently used Bluetooth accessories, VPN, and APN settings.
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
    Have a nice day,

  • My 2010 MacBook A1342 will not connect via Bluetooth to my iPhone 5S

I am able to connect my 2010 MacBook Pro to my iPhone 5s in order to use the Internet connection via Bluetooth. However I just purchased my son a 2010 white MacBook A1342 via Bluetooth to my iPhone 5s in order to use the Internet, I received a message on my phone that says "MacBook not supported".
I am able to pair other Bluetooth devices to this same MacBook and I know that I can connect via Wi-Fi but I would like to know why this is not working.
    Thanks!

And I am also trying to connect it to my iPhone 5s via Bluetooth***
    excuse the typo.

  • TS3048 My early 2009 Mac Pro does not connect via bluetooth to my sound bar or bluetooth mini speakers. Both my wireless keyboard and mouse have no problems connecting. What do I need to do to connect to external bluetooth devices?

My early 2009 Mac Pro does not connect via bluetooth to my sound bar or bluetooth mini speakers. Both my wireless keyboard and mouse have no problems connecting. What do I need to do to connect to external bluetooth devices?

I would always have a wired keyboard and mouse on hand (need not be expensive ... any cheap wired devices will work).  "Emergency recovery" procedures can activate features in random order, so the opportunity to select a recovery partition may pass before the wireless devices are recognized.
That will let you select the "turn on Bluetooth" icon.
