Why can't I delete parts of controls in customize mode?

I tried to customize a slide control. In customize mode, I could not delete cosmetic parts. Also, when I use the custom control in a VI, I cannot modify the size of the control like I can using a regular slide. The background part of the custom control when selected with the pointer tool takes up too much of the front panel.

As stated above, you can't delete them in this version of the control
editor. You can make them transparent, and you can also move them
underneath the housing. Select them either interactively or using the
Window>>Parts Window, and use the mouse buttons to move them under the
housing. If needed, you can also send them to back using the Ctl-J and
Ctl-K or the toolbar button.

It sounds like you are try to delete the songs by connecting the iPod to other than the computer from which the songs were synced. You can only delete songs synced to an an older iPod (pre iOS 5) by connecting the iPod to its syncing computer and unsync them.

Well, what I see happing is this: Tapping edit and checking the first message brings up the “Delete” option. Holding it until the red message “Delete Message” appears, then letting go of the red button and tapping the checked button makes the “Delete Message” message go away. The checked message is still checked with an option to delete just that message. Tap the checked message again just cancels the whole process and I’m back to square one.
However, if I check a message that is part of a thread of messages and tap Delete, I have the option of deleting all messages in the thread.
Perhaps the fact that I’m using the 3rd generation of the iPad is the problem, but your suggestion isn’t working.

I'm mega OCD about free space on my laptop so I often store things on the wdmycloudex2 that shows up for me. A while ago I put a bunch of photos and video clips on there that I later tried to delete. It looked like it deleted them but the folder was still there and inside was a bunch of transcoded files that I could see were all the pictures and videos. When I tried to delete those it told me "You require permission from Unix User/root to make changes to these files" ... I asked my dad why I couldn't delete them but he told me he didn't know, even though he was the one who set up my laptop but either way I don't think he will be helping me. What does this mean? Why can't I delete anything that I put on there? It says it is mine... "Cleo (//WDMYCLOUDEX2)" and I put the files on there. But now I can't delete them.

You checked the permissions on the files/folders in the control panel of the MyCloud? I've read that occasionally the permissions have been reset by various reasons. Also, there could have been something within the files/folders that had corrupt data or are considered open by the computer (and, therefore, cannot be deleted).

You found them ... where? Are they in Safari somewhere?
If so, do Settings > Safari > Clear History and Settings > Safari > Clear Cookies and Data
If that doesn't clear them (and they are from Safari), try Settings > Safari > Advanced > Website Data and clear that area.

Thanks for the question. Was this song purchased from the iTunes Store? If so, it may be that your device is configured to show all of your purchased music that has not yet been downloaded. The following resource may resolve your issue:

View only music that’s downloaded. Go to Settings > iTunes & App Store. Under Show All, turn off Music.

The mail app is crashing on you for some reason. Close the mail app and reset your iPad.
In order to close apps, you have to drag the app up from the multitasking display. Double tap the home button and you will see apps lined up going left to right across the screen. Swipe to get to the app that you want to close and then swipe "up" on the app preview thumbnail to close it.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.
If that doesn't help, you can also try resetting all settings. You will not lose any data, but most of the device settings will have to be entered in the settings app again. Settings>General>Reset>Reset all Settings.

I'm using Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional. I literally just used that to create my form. It's very basic. No - the form is not secured. And I have no idea what enabling a form for extended rights.
It's as simple as this. I have created a form out of a blank adobe acrobat page. I just started a new document. I have created around 200 checkboxes. All of which worked up until yesterday. They still check and uncheck. I just can't edit them. When I hover my mouse over the checkbox, it doesn't light up red anymore (which means you're hovering over an editable form) it is just the cross; the same one you use to create a checkbox.
I'm using no special program. Simply Adobe Acrobat 8 professional

I did take a look at the Jira issue you referenced. It suggests that the MediaPlayer be set to null in the MediaView after the last media file has been played and nullify the MediaPlayer reference. However, all this relies on GC to cleanup the resources. (In fact, the sample code in Jira shows a call to System.gc(), which, I understand, is not guaranteed to run immediately.)
All the same, I tried the suggestion, but it didn't help my situation. So I am stuck with my alternative.
It is rather disheartening that there is not a clear cut API for cleaning up media resources when you are done, instead of being dependent on GC.

I download my pictures by:
!) Connecting my iphone to he computer.
2) It will open a window or I will go to my computer and select iphone device.
3) Open up Iphone folders and download.
When I do that, I see a windows icon, with what looks to be a hard drive. And when I click on it, it leads me back to my desktop. Right now, I only have one. I know by tomorrow I will have more. It just keeps spreading.

You can't empty the Trash or move a file to the Trash
Visit The XLab FAQs and read the FAQ on solving Trash issues. You can also try using Trash It! 5.1 to fix the problem. Or you can try this:
Open the Terminal in the Utilities folder and paste the following at the prompt:
sudo rm -Rf ~/.Trash/*
Press RETURN. Enter your admin password when prompted. It will not echo to the screen. Press RETURN again.

Now that you mention it, my parents don't need to see my playlists, either. Hadn't thought of that.
I accidently stumbled on an "ad-hoc" workaround that helped me. The downside is that it only works with smart playlists so it may or may not work for you. But here it is anyway:
Smart playlists will not be uploaded to the cloud if they refeence another playlist on the cloud. So I created a "catch-all" smart playlist and added a reference to that in all the smart playlists I don't want to share.
I also noticed that playlists with more than just music are not uploaded. You could add a short video or something to the playlists that are only for the iMac. This obviously won't work if your daughter needs them on her iDevice.
I know these aren't good solutions, but I hope they help someone.
