Why can't I download Firefox 12 on my computer when I meet all system requirements?

I am running Windows 7 on my laptop, and am currently using Internet Explorer 9 as a web browser. I want to switch to Firefox. When I try to download Firefox 12, I get an error that the setup file couldn't be downloaded. The error won't tell me why it won't download, and I've double-checked all my download settings and system requirements; nothing seems out of place. Any suggestions?

* It is possible that your anti-virus software is corrupting the downloaded files or otherwise interfering with downloading files.
* Try to Disable the real-time (live) scanning of files in your anti-virus software temporarily to see if that makes downloading work.
* see this article -> http://kb.mozillazine.org/Unable_to_save_or_download_files#Temporarily_disable_antivirus_or_update_security_software

  • HT201364 Why can Maverick not be installed on my computer when I meet the system requirements?

I got my iMac in July 2007, which I believe is mid-2007, I am currently running v.10.6.8, have 2 GB memory and over 100 GB of available space. This to me meets the system requirements, so why do I get the "cannot be installed on this computer" message when I try to upgrade to Maverick?

Something does not match up.  Check your year of manufacture.
To install Mavericks, you need one of these Macs:

I have a 13" Macbook (Early 2009), 2gb memory, 9.29GB of free space and v10.6.8 already installed and yet when I click to download Mavericks, a popup comes up on the screen saying "Sorry, Mavericks cannot be installed to this computer". Why not??

  • I would like to run the most secure version of firefox on my computer, but my computer does not meet the system requirements for the latest version

i would like to run the most secure version of firefox on my computer, but my computer does not meet the system requirements for the latest version. is there a way i can have the security of firefox 8 and still be able to run it on my old computer. i currently an running firefox 3.6. it is a bit slow, but it is functional.

Currently Firefox 3.6.24 is as secure as Firefox 8.0.1 is. Firefox 3.6.x will continue to get security updates until next spring, although the exact date hasn't yet been determined.
Which of the system requirements are you lacking? <br />
Processor wise you're stuck with what you got, but RAM can be upgraded. WinXP is still supported in all versions of Firefox and will be continued to be supported until Windows drops support for WinXP sometime in 2014.

  • Why won't Maverick Install.  Meet all system requirements.

So, my 2009 MacBook Pro is running 10.7.5 (Lion), and meets the system requirements having 2 GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM and the memory required.  It has an 2.33 GHz Intel Core Duo Processor.
When I click "install" in the App Store it states, "OS X Mavericks cannot be installed on this computer," with "We could not complete your purchase," above.  When I click "learn more," it sends me to the system requirements page, thus why I explained my setup.  I verified and checked the stuff in Disk Utility and there were no issues.
I just got an iPhone 6 Plus and with running the newest iOS 8 it requires one to have Maverick or Yosemite, eventually, installed to access iCloud Drive, so I'd like to complete the update to my OSX.  Any ideas?

Installer reports "OS X could not be installed on your computer" or "This disk cannot be used to start up your computer"
    I would do this first:
Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions - Mavericks, Lion/Mountain Lion
    Boot to the Recovery HD:
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
    Repair
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list.  In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive.  If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported then click on the Repair Permissions button. When the process is completed, then quit DU and return to the main menu. Select Restart from the Apple menu.

  • Why can't i download firefox

i had firefox i deleted it by mistake now i can't download it at all on my pc why??

Are you getting an Error Message when you try to download Firefox? If you go to [http://www.getfirefox.com www.getfirefox.com],click the "download Now" button and save Firefox to your computer, does that work? then after saving, you should be able to double-click the file you just downloaded and install Firefox.

  • Why can't I download Firefox 4?

I have used Firefox 3. 6 successfully as my primary browser for years, but when I tried to download Firefox 4 the application would not open. After deleting older versions and repeating additionally download, I remain unsuccessful. A large white "no symbol" overlays the fox in the Firefox file. Any thoughts, anyone?

  • Can't upgrade my PowerBook G4, now at 10.4.11 to 10.5. It meets all system requirements!

I need to upgrade my PowerBook G4 to 10.5 so that I can use the current version of iTunes. When I talked to the Apple tech guy he said my PowerBook specs indicate that it can run OS 10.5. Specs are: PowerBook G4 15" 1.5Ghz 1 GB memory plenty of disc space, Firewire and attached screen. All listed on the install disc for 10.5. When I start up the install, I select English and two seconds later a window pops up saying it can't install on this computer. Doesn't state why or what is missing! ARGGHH!! I double checked everything, ran disk utility, opened the battery compartment to verify (1.5GHz/1GB/80G/SuperDrive/BT/APX/Backlit KB). So all hardware requirements are met.
The disc says Mac OS version 10.5, AHT version 3A137, Disc version 1.0, 2Z691-6150-A.
    Can anyone help?
    Mike

Leopard, OS 10.5.x is the last OS X version that you can install on a powerPC procesor Mac.

If you can't obtain a retail install DVD from Apple, look on eBay or Google the installer part numbers to possibly find at an on-line store. Here's what to look for:
    MB427Z/A  Leopard 10.5.1 install DVD
    MB576Z/A  Leopard 10.5.4 install DVD
MB021Z/A  Leopard 10.5.6 install DVD (single user)

After you install the base 10.5, download & install the 10.5.8 combo update at http://support.apple.com/downloads/Mac_OS_X_10_5_8_Combo_Update
The DVD should look like this
Caution - Leopard does not support classic mode. So, if you currently open OS 9 apps in classic mode, you won't be able to do this if you upgrade to Leopard.

  • Why can't I download Firefox on Internet Explorer? I tried everything but it won't download. Thanks.

I went the homepage. It says "Thanks for downloading", but nothing is downloaded. Did Internet Explorer prevent this?

It's hard to say. Could you try one of the "full" installers on this page to see whether it works better (scroll down to your preferred language):

  • Why can't I download a book from computer to iPhone

I downloaded a free book Easy Recipes 123 from iTunes (via the code on the SBUX freebie card). I can find it on the MacBook, but when i select the download book option in iTunes it tells me that if i do that then all the songs, movies and TV shows will be removed from my iPhone. This is crazy and absolutely ridiculous when i have only used about 1 GB on my phone. Is there a work-around for this or am i missing something?

Are you using a different account on your MacBook, or is this the first time you sync to it?
Changing the computer or syncing to a different iTunes account will erase the content on your device and replace it with the content of the new library.
Back up manually by right clicking and choosing "backup". This does not include a sync, and you can use the  backup again after the device has been erased by iTunes.
Transfer your purchases the same way and make sure there is at least one contact and event set up on the MacBook, to be able to merge data.
You can also download the purchases again for free on you Mac or device: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2519

  • Why can't I download photos from my journal when it's hosted on my own server?

When I publish my albums to iCloud, I have an icon that appears on the very left when the image is full-screen that allows me to download the image.
When I publich the very same album to my own server by just dropping all the files into a directory, the icon and option to download the image is gone.  Is this a limitation of putting your pictures anywhere other than iCloud?

Only thing I can link it to is the Location services. somehow the phone thinks I can't allow anyone to download images that reveal my location... even on my own computer. A programmers oversight, but i can't figure out how to ALLOW it again!

  • Why can't I in Firefox 19, nothing happens when I try to bookmark a page?

Last week I realised that my old firefox did not work as all the extensions where gone and they could not be added again. I saved my old profile and made new one and then reinstalled firefox and got the 19 version. When I tried to import my old bookmarks it did not work - the folders where there but they were empty. But worse is that I cannot save any bookmarks at all. I have reinstalled Firefox, I have the 'Troubleshooter' and everything. Sometimes I can save one bookmark after I have opened the browser, but after that it does not work.
I don't relly care if I cannot import the old bookmarks (I have imported them into explorer instead, and that worked) but at least I want to be able to save new ones. For the moment, the only reason I use Firefox is that I use Zotero, but if I keep having these problem I will change browser. I have not spend up to a working day trying to solve this problem.

    use can use this add-ones
