Why can't I download Garageband off the App Store?

So I got my Macbook Pro a few month's ago and Garageband didn't come pre-installed on it everytime I try to download it, instead of a price button there is accept but it just say's "These apps cannot be accepted on this computer." Now I did get my Mac for slightly cheaper because a lady brought it back, but I was told she didn't even use it she just turned it on then brought it back the same day apparently the screen wasn't big enough.Any help is much appreciated I really just want to play around with Garageband so hopefully there is a solution to my problem.

I believe the previous owner has registered or created a Apple ID on apple and the apps are linked to that Apple ID, try calling tech support and have them clear the link or transfer to your Apple ID then it should work. Same thing happened to me because I registered the computer on one ID and then signed-in on a different ID and tried to download Garage Band and could not, would not allow me to accept the download. 10.9 is free, so you could upgrade to that if you wished
if that's not an option for software compatibility reasons, you'd either need to re-install it from the original disks (that came with the computer, or a seperate iLife disc), a backup, or purchase a boxed version from someplace like eBay or Amazon (Amazon has iLife '11 for $39)

FYI Mac OS X is not designed to be installed on additional Macs, unless you purchased it from the App Store, in which case you can make as many copies as you wish and install it on as many Macs as you own.

Do you have a song or podcast in iTunes that did not finish downloading? If you do - finish that one first. The apps will not update until that download is complete.
If that doesn't do it - sign out of your account - Settings>Store>Apple ID - sign out. Restart the iPad. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button. Go back to Settings>Store>Sign in and sign in again and see if you can tap on one app and start the download.

Whenever I try and log in to download something off the App Store it says could not sign in an unknown error has occurred. Is anyone else having this problem?

Loading a new App did not work. Closing all running apps and turning off wi-Fi did not work.

Why Can't I Get Back Into The App Store Via My iPhone4?

I just activated my iPhone 4 (Verizon) today and was downloading free apps w/o problem until a few hours ago when I could no longer gain access to the App Store.
When I click on the App Store it just gives me a "loading" message but nothing comes up.
Have Net access via wireless and 3g. Can do searches w/Safari and can get into the iTunes store, but not the App Store.
Is the App Store "down" or is there something I can do to "fix" this problem?

Update: Well, it looks like I have more problems than just the App Store. Now, I can't bring up the Settings page (it's blank). Phone still works but other functions like Maps and Weather also come up blank.
Any way to reset w/o the Settings page? Help!

You can't use iBooks on a desktop. You may want to give the Kindle app a try.

Try this and see what happens. Quit the App Store, Sign out of your account completely, restart the iPad and then sign in again.

If you don't see the sign in sheet > Mac App Store: Sign in sheet does not appear, or does not accept typed text
And disable any security software such as anti virus before trying to access the App Store.
Make sure your Mac meets Lion's requirements:
Mac computer with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7, or Xeon processor
2GB of memory
OSX v10.6.6 or later (V10.6.8 recommended)

Why can't I sign in to the App Store app on my mac?

Is there anyone who can help me? I have OS 10.7.4 running on a Intel mac tower, I have an Apple account (that works fine for the iTune store, on my iPad), but when I click on the either of the links; Sign In, or Account in the App Store app on my mac nothing happens? I have also tried the same options in the menus but with the same result?
I had the same problem on Leopard, and bought Lion hopefully to fix the problem, but I still can't sign in...

To be honest - Apple did a miserable job in designing the user accounts on Apple Store, iTunes app profile, Apple ID profile and Apple discussion groups profile. You can't even change the password in discussion groups. You have to go through "forgot password" to reset it. I tried it once and never received the reset-email. Total misery.
Anyway, I had the same issue with not being able to sign into Apple Store app. In the end I resolved it by CLIKING on the PURCHASES button in iTunes, then it asked me for password and then I was able to make purchases etc..

This is a bug experienced by quite a few users lately that I'm sure Apple is aware of and working on. I have never had this problem, so I can't speak for myself, but I would try a reset. Hold the home and power buttons at the same time until the Apple boot logo appears. No data will be lost.

Why can't I find CarPlay on the app store?

If you search for the app CarPlay on the apple website, it gives you all this information on the app. but I can't find it in the app store. I have searched "apple carplay" "carplay" and "car play" and I can't find it.
Am I searching wrong? Am I missing something?

That link didn't say anything about where or HOW to get to get car play, which was my question. All it did was tell you what it was and how great it was and who it was available for. So I did read the link I posted, before I posted. After tracking down a video through pioneer, it looks like if you have the firmware update all you do is plug in your phone and it loads carplay on the stereo screen.
