Impossible to say with no information on which to base a diagnosis. "can't download" by itself doesn't tell us anything useful. What OS is your laptop running, and where exactly are things going wrong, including error messages if any?

  • Why can't I download itunes to my windows 7 computer

Why can't Idowload itunes to my windows 7computer?

Now I want to download the iTunesSetup.exe file, I only get the thank you page. On some occasions I get the 'save' button window (very seldom it goes to where I can select where I want to DL the file to) but overal, nothing happens. No download starts.
With that one, try downloading an installer from the Apple website using a different web browser:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
If you use Firefox instead of IE for the download (or vice versa), do you get a working installer?
If you can't get a working installer via the standard download links, try the following download links instead:
    iTunes 11.1.4 for Windows (32-bit) - iTunesSetup.exe
    iTunes 11.1.4 for Windows (64-bit) - iTunes64Setup.exe

  • Why can't i download itunes on my windows 8 computer?

Every time I attempt to download iTunes onto my computer, it tells me an error has occurred before iTunes could be configured. Then it tells me that that my system has not been modified and to finish the installation, I need to re run the installer.. every time I do so, the same message pops up.
any suggestions as to what I should do?

  • Why can't i download itunes onto my PC?

Does anyone know why I can't download iTunes onto my Toshiba laptop. I'm running Windows 7.
I have even tried earlier versions of iTunes and had no luck.
    Can anyone help?

Possibly, but unless additional information is provided we have no clue why it will not install either.
Provide as much detail as possible, including exact error messages being displayed.

  • Why can't I download itunes 10.5 and why has it been like this for days and apple hasn't fixed it yet?

I have tried multiple times to download itunes on my pc with windows 7. At this point I am incredibly frustrated and have come to the conclusion that a) apple so doesn't care about the pc users that purchase their products b) itunes is apparently not meant to be user friendly since many people can't even download it and c) the people employed by apple aren't that bright since that can't make a working version of a program that they have put out not once or twice but over 10 times...

    Hi there,
I had the same experience. I'm using a Dell Inspiron 1545 laptop, with Windows 7 Home Edition, 32 bit.
I tried to install iTunes 10.5 and it started installing, then, just before the end of the process, came up with the following error message:
"There is a problem with this Windows Installer Package. A program required for this install to complete could not be run. Contact your support personnel or package vendor."
Of course, no information on what the program that couldn't be run was! At first I tried the usual stuff, like scanning for viruses etc. but nothing doing. Then I started Googling. In the end, I uninstalled all Apple stuff from my computer. A lot of it I had to do manually, going in to the program files drive and deleting stuff from there, but some of it wouldn't delete as it was saying it was open in Windows Explorer. In the end, I managed to delete the iTunes folders by selecting one of my mp3 tracks saved on the computer and right clicking 'open with'. I then browsed my pc to locate the iTunes folders still outstanding and was able to right click and delete them that way.
Then emptied the recycle bin and did a restart before going online and downloading iTunes 10.5.
Thankfully it worked, but its taken me a good few hours and made me really quite tetchy! I've never had this problem before, so I hope this is going to be a one off.
One thing that doesn't seem to be working is that, despite how many times I tell it that my preference is for the iTunes Media folder to be located on my external hard drive, it keeps putting it back to the C drive! Didn't have that issue with the last version. Grrrrrr. Arrrrgggh.
Hope you manage to get yours sorted - this is affecting a lot of people by the look of things.

  • Why can't I download iTunes to my PC?

Every time I try to download iTunes to my pc (win xp) it says there's an error and I can't download it and it wasn't installed and no modifications were made to my pc ... so how do I get the iTunes downloaded???

The way they are referring to XP Mode is probably the native VM, not that iTunes is running using "run in XP SP3 mode"
FWIW, I played around and use Windows 8, along with 7, and even using Compatibility Mode offerings "recommended" or offered by Windows will not work. In fact it should run fine.
If you are running iTunes in a XP VM that might be an issue. Apple has had trouble with 64-bit and putting support files in the wrong directory and not in Program Data where they belong, And that has caused issues to surface now, mistakes made in the past; the need to really sweep and manually uninstall first.
A clean install of Windows 7 SP1 64-bit or even Windows 8 Preview have been fine and no trouble. Windows 7 had 10.4 which I uninstalled first. 8 was clean install.QuickTimes 7.7.1 was just posted but is not a component of or bundled into iTunes, was posted on 10/26.
