Why can't I download music onto my iphone from my new computer?

I have a new computer that I've authorized. But I cannot transfer new music that I've purchased onto my existing iPhone. It says that my library is synced with another computer. I'd have to wipe out everything on my phone to sync to this new computer. I don't want to do that. How can I select this new computer as the computer that I want to sync to from now on? Will it help to un-authorize my old computer?
THANKS!

I didn't watch the video,  However, the procedure is simple.  Download the track from the other site, and make sure it is saved to your computer.  Then drag it into the "Automatically Add to iTunes" folder (which can be found inside your iTunes Media folder).

  • How do I transfer and download music onto my Iphone from my new Macbook Air?

I just recently got a macbook air. I tried to transfer music that was on my phone to my new Itunes library and redownload all of the new music I recently downloaded to my computer. It starts to process the request, gets to stage 2, finishes stage 2 out of 6, n then the processing stops on the computer and "disconnects" my Iphone from my computer, but still processes on my phone. I left my phone plugged in for 4 hours to see if maybe it would finish processing but it didn't. That is when I finally gave up and shut down my computer and unplugged my Iphone. I tried it for the second time, and continued to do the same thing. Please help me!!!

    Hi applenewbie11,
    Welcome to the Support Communities!
Congratulations on the purchase of your Macbook Air!
You can only transfer music you purchased on your iPhone 4S to your new computer.
The article has more details and screen shots, but the basic information is quoted below.
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iOS device or iPod to a computer
If you want to transfer iTunes Store purchases from an iOS device or iPod to a computer, be sure to authorize the computer before connecting the device. After connecting your device to the computer and its icon appears in iTunes, go to the File menu, then Devices, and choose Transfer Purchases from "(Your device name)".
Or, you can Show Sidebar from the View menu, and then right-click (Windows or Mac) or Control-click (Mac only) your device in the iTunes Source list, then choose Transfer Purchases from the shortcut menu that appears.
Please note that this feature works only for items that were purchased on the iTunes Store. Any items imported from audio CDs or acquired from other sources will not copy from your device to the iTunes library. Please see this article for more details.
Your best bet is to copy your Music folder from your previous Mac or PC to your new computer and then sync it with your iPhone.
I hope this information helps ....
    Have a great day!

Did you fail to maintain a backup copy?
If so, then you can buy a third party program to extract the music not purchased from itunes.
Itunes purchases can be transferred to your computer:  File>Transfer Purchases.

  • Why can't I download apps onto my iphone when i have enough memory and my apple password is correct.

I have sucessfully downloaded apps on my iphone many times in the past. Now, when I select and try to install an app it begins to download, I put in my password and then everything reverts back to the start. I have lots of memory and even free apps won.t download. I've looked and read all the support manuals online and nothing helps.
Has anyone had this problem before and knows how to help. I would appreciate any advice.

You will have to call Apple and ask for Account Security.

  • I recently downloaded music onto my iphone from another itunes library

but my own itunes library isn't letting my download it, how do I put the music onto my own library?

From another iTunes library of yours that is available on another computer that you own?
If so and the music was purchased from the iTunes store with the same iTunes account, iTunes includes an option to transfer iTunes content that was purchased/downloaded from the iTunes store from an iPod, iPad, or iPhone, but this is for iTunes content that was downloaded from the iTunes store only. The computer you are wanting to transfer the iTunes store purchased content to must be authorized with the same iTunes account with iTunes.
If not from your iTunes library and iTunes account on another computer that you own, what you are wanting to do amounts to stealing.

  • HT1535 Two Macs; one iTunes account--why can't I move music to my iPhone from either machine?

I have 2 macs--a MacBook Pro and an iMac. I have ONE Apple ID (iTunes ID) that is registered on both machines. I used to sync my iPhone from the iMac, but now the iMac is in storage. I want to move some music from my MacBook to my iPhone and it wont let me...something about only being allowed to be synced to one iTunes library. It would erase everything on my phone if I wanted to add anything from my MacBook's iTunes library. Why isnt it the same iTunes library--it has the same iTunes ID/Apple ID? Is there a solution to this that isnt really annoying and redundant (like mirroring my two computers' library)?
This cannot be the first time someone has had this issue and Apple hasnt addressed it?

Each iTunes library has a unique ID.
Easiest way to do what you want is to use Home Sharing and copy the files from your MacBook to your  iMac then sync the phone to the iMac.

  • Adding music to my iPhone from a new computer? Is it possible to do so without erasing music already copied?

I have an iPhone 5c. I originally set it up on my computer at home and copied my music over using iTunes.
I am now away on a trip for a few weeks with work and have a work laptop. I have downloaded iTunes and authorized the laptop. I have some music I want to add it to my iPhone however when I try and manually move the music to the iPhone icon in iTunes I get a little red "no entry" symbol show up.
I understand I can select "manually manage music and videos" however when I click this it wants me to delete all my music and videos and only sync the music already wthin iTunes on this laptop. Obviously this means I will lose all the music currently on my iPhone and only copy the recently downloaded music to it.
    1) Is it possible to copy the new music without it deleting my previous music in my iPhone? I don't want to lose my original 50 albums just so I can add another 3!
    2) Will syncing it also delete my apps and save game data etc? Or will it only affect my music and videos?
    3) Is the "manually manage music and videos" a iPhone option or a iTunes option? I am almost certain I set it originally on my PC so the fact it is now unticked confuses me.
    Thanking you in anticipation...

The aim is prevent casual copying so you can't go around to a friend's house and simply copy all of the media from your device onto your friend's computer, or vice versa.
There are tools in the user tip that can recover all of the non-iTunes-purchased media, however the process is really a last restort for when the original library has been lost or damaged and there is no backup.
I believe it is only the media that is at risk, provided you backup the device and transfer apps, but I could be wrong.
FWIW you can, and should, backup your library on a regular basis. If your library is in a portable form you can backup to a portable drive that you can then take with you and manage the device from any other computer running the same build of iTunes.
    1) Is it possible to copy the new music without it deleting my previous music in my iPhone? I don't want to lose my original 50 albums just so I can add another 3!
Not when using a different library than was used to put the first 50 there.
    2) Will syncing it also delete my apps and save game data etc? Or will it only affect my music and videos?
Uncertain. If you backup the device and transfer purchases then the apps and saved should be safe, and could be restored if needed.
    3) Is the "manually manage music and videos" a iPhone option or a iTunes option? I am almost certain I set it originally on my PC so the fact it is now unticked confuses me
iPhones may only be manually managed with a single library. Other devices can be manually managed from multiple libraries. I have no idea why this arbitrary restriction is there, but there is a workaround as given above. You can clone your library to another drive or computer and it will work fine.

  • Why can't I access my online banking site from my new computer. I can get into it with my old PC, but not my new MacBook Pro

I can't remember what you do to open a link.  I'm in my bank site and want to open bill pay.  It says it opened in another tab but it isn't.  What the heck?

    You click on it.
Which os version are you using?  Which browser & version are you using?  If you are using Safari, post in its forum area.  A 3rd party browser, post in their forums.
Have you contacted the bank webmaster or tech support to determine that the issue is not on their end?
If your computer is "new" you have 90 days of free phone tech support from Apple.  Take full advantage of it and call Apple Care.

  • How can I sync my purchases to my iPhone from my new computer?

    Help please!!

Here manually manage your content it's more safer than to sync your items
If you have iTunes 7 or later*, follow these instructions:
Connect the device to your computer.
    Open iTunes.
Select iPhone, iPad, or iPod in the Devices list.
Click the Summary tab and select "Manually manage music and videos".
    Click Apply.
Even when you have enabled manual management, you can still sync some content automatically. Select any content tab, such as Video, to enable automatic syncing for that type of content.

  • HT5622 Why when I try to download songs onto my iPhone from my iPad, it pops up and says "This device is already associated with an Apple ID, You can download past purchases on this device with just one Apple ID every 90 days.

Why when I try to download songs onto my iPhone from my iPad, it pops up and says "This device is already associated with an Apple ID, You can download past purchases on this device with just one Apple ID every 90 days. You cannot associate this device with a different Apple ID for 90 days
(Note, mine says 28 days because I have been waiting for a fair bit for this to go away.)

You can't keep changing the ID you use with iTunes, you are limited to once every 90 days.
