Why can't I download podcasts into my iTunes on my phone?

The Podcasts app is not installed on “iPhone”, so you will not be able to play podcasts on your iPhone. The app only works with celluar data, which I pay for, and i need a connection so I can't listen to them on a plane. BS.

No, there is another issue at work. Those of us who have our desktop/laptop download the podcasts and then sync the phone to auto transfer the podcasts without streaming and eating our data are the ones experiencing this. I was also experincing this when trying to manually transfer them. The podcasts will play in the app via cloud, but not if they were transferred.
There is a temporary fix, if weird and user intensive, where you select the podcast episode (or select all for my entire library that wouldn't load), get info, an under options select media kind "podcast". For some reason, this has broken in apple's back end where new podcasts are loaded as music. Pretty stupid since this is the setting that determines if it is loaded into the music player, or the podcast app....
Hopefully apple fixes this soon.

It seems odd that you can log onto TVNZ TV on demand and watch programmes directly on your computer and yet they won't let them be channelled through the Apple TV.
The Apple TV would be more use if it could access TVNZ [ say ] and play the episodes from there instead of having to go through iTunes.
I am a bit cross that Apple market the Apple TV with what it can do in US and yet it wasn't made clear that in New Zealand it is a virtually useless piece of kit.
I have been buying Apple products since 1985 and this is the first time I have been dissatisfied.
Having said that it may not be the fault of the product !! Just the country in which I am trying to use it.
That is another oddity in that New Zealand prides itself in being a World Leader in EFTPOS and internet banking and yet is so abysmal at entertainment sharing !

I got a new laptop computer, downloaded iTunes on it and retrieved my music from my old computer into this iTunes. However, now I cannot download new music or any music for that matter onto my iPod nano. I can sync music from my iPod to my computer but not the other way around. Even re-registered my iPod again, but this does not seem to matter. What am I doing wrong? Never had this problem before. My computer has Windows 8 if that makes a difference.

The people who answer here are just users like yourself, and how long it takes depends on who is around and happens to see your post. You can't expect an immediate answer, though you might be lucky and get a quick one - but it might take some hours or even a day or so.

Why can't I import songs into my iTunes?

Accidentally deleted all of my music for iTunes and stupidily emptied the trash but whatever, that's why Time Machine is great.
Simply put, got ALL my songs back from Time Machine and yet, iTunes seems to ignore anything I ask it to do. Can't drag and drop, can't "Add to library" (Command+O). No dialog box comes up or anything. Tried moving full folders and single song files and nothing happens whatsoever. Tried googling this, and everything is for Windows. I don't use my Mac all to often but my music is a must. I need my metal.

Any ideas? Because this is weird. I've already been complaining that you can't simply drag and drop crap into an iPhone and now THIS? What's wrong with Apple? I'm seriously debating a virus filled world or stick with constant irritants like this crap. I mean c'mon. My music is RIGHT there, why can't I just drag them into iTunes? Why? They were all there JUST a couple hours ago, so it can't be an issue of whether I'm using MP3 or whatever... Right? Ugh..

Yes, it was all there, but as I said. iTunes acts like it isn't, and we're talking about thousands upon thousands of songs sitting in their respective folders.
I had talked to my brother in law and he did mention something about iTunes having it's custom file that saves the information for everything it has into one, and to find that one if possible. But how can I locate it if using Time Machine to restore all of my music did nothing? I restored any iTunes related (all in one folder honestly), so what's the deal?

For years I could download music to my iTunes without buy songs from iTunes Store. But every since I update to this new iTunes 5 months ago now everything has change. Now I can't download my music to iTunes only if I buy songs off on itunes which I HATE. There are LEGAL sites were you can download music for free like Bandcamp.com, DatPiff.com, Livemixtapes.com, and etc. So how come I can't download this songs from these site when it is 100% LEGAL. Download the file to your computer in the normal fashio, which does not require iTunes. Make sure the file is in a valid music format, which usually means MP3. (If you have any doubts, see if it plays in another music player on your PC, such as Windows Media Player or Winamp.)
Once you know it is a valid music file, drag it into your "Automatically Add to iTunes" folder, which is found in your iTunes Media folder.

How can I add manually-downloaded podcasts into the iTunes Podcase lists?

I see no way to "import" an existing podcast MP3 file into the Podcast screen so it shows up in an existing Podcast list. I need this because I have older podcast episodes which the downloaded subscriptions do not include anymore, but these old episodes really belong in the same podcast list as the newer ones.
This is a glarimg omission that makes the podcast screen inflexible and hard to use - plz help!

K, so i haven't relly used the store before or ever downloaded a podcast because it won't let me so im sure there's something i probably haven't done yet! But ye,any help would be appreciated!
Basically, I go to the screen with the podcasts, click on one and then the button that says get free or whatever it may say is always grey and i cant click on it...so it just won't let me click on it and i do not know why.

Why can't i download new versions of itunes on my PC?

I can see from the amount of discussion on the net that this is a major problem and I have tried all the suggestions I can find (delete cookies, download Quicktime separately etc) but I am starting to get very frustrated as I can't get any music on my (now) 3 month old ipod. Plus I have just bought my son a touch and he can't figure it out either.
Any suggestions?

Why can I only download 25 mb of itunes 10.6 and at 25.1 mb, it resets and starts over again????

This is making me want to throw the iphone, the iMac, the windows pc (because it has itunes on it) and anything else related to apple into the freaking ocean and even stop eating apples. I have been searching the web rying to find answers and always get sent to the "support" community. Jock straps and bras are support... this community is a place for frustrated users to vent--thats it! I never once seen anyone from apple get on here and help out. The only support you get from apple has to be bought. I don't even know why I am complaining about free software...IT'S FREE, hence the lack of apple support. Oh well, I will just add the 5 minutes of wasted time I used to type this to the hours and hours of wasted time I have spent dealing with this. Had you bothered to read the terms of use that we all agreed to when signing up to post here, you would have seen explicitly that this IS a user to user technical support forum and Apple has no presence here.

Why can't I download latest version of iTunes in Windows 8 on my Asus laptop?

When I try to install the latest version of iTunes in Windows 8 on my laptop I get the error "errors occurred during installation before it could be configured. System has not been modified".
When I connect my iphone 4s, I get the message "this iphone cannot be recognized because the latest version of iTunes has not been installed.

Why can't I download Canon S100 CR2 RAW files into PSE 10?

I am using PSE 10 with a Canon S100 camera. I am successful in downloading all of my jpeg files and RAW CR2 files from my older Canon Rebel, but not with the Canon S100 CR2 Raw files.
When first downloading from the Canon S100 camera into PSE 10 and later doing them manually, I receive the following messages: Nothing imported...files are not supported file types or alread in catalog. File damaged or in a format that cannot be included in the Elements Organizer.
These problems files, by the way, were automatically added to my Window's My Pictures catalog and are perfectly fine.

Thank you for the info. It worked great, once I was
able to get around a second problem that prevented updating
from within the PSE 10 application (error U41M1C212). That
problem was solved by disabling the MS Virtual WiFi Miniport
Adapter (located in the Network and Sharing Center control
panel). It just goes to show me once again, how complex
computer apps are and how much we all have to rely on each
other to get anything to work properly (frustratingly
enough, since the companies we paid good money to for
their problematic software are not very helpful). Thanks

Try opening a CR2 directly from a folder by right-clicking
and choosing open with Photoshop Elements editor, if that
dosent work, update the appliactaion (required for the
S100V)

Then install amera raw 6.7

what fixes have you tried?
where is your library located?
did you apply any updates or upgrades just prior to the problem occurring?
are you running a "managed" or "referenced" library?
what type of Mac?
how much free space on your boot drive?
