why can't I download the "waiting" songs on my iTunes ? I have 2gb of free storage

I'm guessing because the servers or part of the network is still overloaded by millions of other trying to do the same.

I have got myself in a real mess, I installed the new iOS 7 onto my iPad and I don't like it so I imported all my new photos to my mac, then I reset all my settings on my iPad thinking that it would go back to the original settings but alas didn't work.

Put simply, the minimum system requirements for iTunes have changed. You need a Mac running at least OS X 10.6.8.
It's best you look online to see if your model of Mac can be upgraded to at least 10.6.8 "Snow Leopard". It should still be possible to order a copy of Snow Leopard if so.

I could not find an option to "report a problem".
Log in to the Store. Click on "Account" in your Quick Links. When you're in your Account information screen, go down to Purchase History and click "See all".
Find the item that is not playing properly. If you can't see "Report a Problem" next to the entry, click the "Report a problem" button. Now click the "Report a Problem" link next to the item.
(Not entirely sure what happens after you click that link, but fingers crossed it should be relatively straightforward.)

Been having that problem myself. Just click on this link http://www.apple.com/uk/itunes/ and download it from there. It worked for me. Hope this helps.

Are you logged in with the same account that was used to activate the phone ? If you are, and the apps aren't showing as free, then try logging out of your account by tapping on it at the botto of the Featured tab in the App Store app and then log back in and see if they then show as free.

Purchasing extra iCloud storage doesn't increase the space on your iPad, it only increases the space in your iCloud account. If you don't have enough free space on your iPad, you'll have to remove someting to make more room. You might, for example, import your photos and videos to your computer and delete them from your iPad to make more room, as explained here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083.

Is your iPod configured to sync audiobooks? To check, plug your iPod in and when it appears in iTunes locate it's audibooks tab and make sure it is set to them.
