Why can't I drag any files into my Seagate Backup Plus Drive?

I have this hard drive and I've used before on my Macbook Pro. Then I restored my mac and now I can't drag any files into my hard drive. Please help.

How is this HDD formatted?

Why can't I upload any files into lightroom?

I've been using Lr for a while and it never gave me any problems, but all of a sudden I can't upload any files into lightroom, whether it's from my iphone or a raw file. This is what is says: Could not copy a file to the requested location.
However, when I started having trouble with this it said something like "lightroom can't read the files". I then updated all of my software.
I'm thinking it could a directory issue?
Also, by "upload" I meant when I hit the IMPORT button.

The thing is - I don't know about Codecs, and please take this the right way when I say - I'm not interested in Codecs.
I just want to drag my movie files taken in whatever format I take them in and drag them into Imovie to work on them.
mp4 is a fairly common format?
then I have very little possibility to be of help - as I only can guide You a bit of the way to understand and work around this Problem - I never denied it to be.
But it seems that every Camera company makes there own solutions and to make Video editing programs or DVD authoring ones that can use every strange Video Codec availably - is impossibly - Not even FinalCut or Avid or Adobe Premiere can do this.
.mp4 - is no more Video Codec as any folder or hard disk - and tell that my material is on a hard disk, doesn't help us in understanding where it goes wrong.
So if You want to get this to work - then You need to set of a minimum of interest in howto get it right.
To find out the Codec
• Open the file with QuickTime-Player (as it can open many many more Codecs than iMovie can use)
• here open Inspector [cmd+I] and read
Video Format (Codec) : nnnnnnnnnnnnn
Frames per second : YY.yy fps
What does they say ?
If You feel offended and don't want - There is no solution as I know of.

If I create a new folder within Zen Media Explorer, why can I not drag another folder into it's
This is how I arrange my MP3 albums on my PC ARTIST NAME folder--->ALBUM NAME folder--->MP3 TRACKS
but when I use media explorer to transfer just one album from a multi album folder it transfers it without creating a folder of the artist name therefore I would have to do it manually, but thats isn't possible either.
Now although this is fine on the player (if ID3 tags are completed) when I come back to media player I don't have the artist name info.
Am I doing something wrong or has anybody else found this to be a problem

Thanks Jerry. I just found this out by reading the "What has been lost in Numbers 3.0 upgrade" post by virtue of posing my question here ... In desperation, I downloaded FilemakerPro 13 trial and I am getting quite excited by this although I have commented to Apple that they may want to think about using the now redundant iWeb developers to build a new iWeb with DB capabilities integrating the new Numbers with all it's 09 features restored for ease of use. Will they listen? I doubt it. Ha. Cheers

If the HDD is formatted NTFS, then it suggests that there is a problem with the PC. Check with the manufacturer.

Why can't I drag a clip into the timeline?

I just loaded PP CD5 onto my Win 7 laptop. I can import movie clips into my project, but I can't drag any of those clips into the timeline. When I try to drag them, I get a hand with a "do not enter" symbol. No error messages of any kind.
I vaguely remember having this same issue when I loaded PP CS5 on my Win 7 desktop several months ago, and I thought I found something on the forums that told me how to fix it, but I can't find it now. Perhaps a change in the preferences?

Did you actually create a sequence? If not, go to File > New > Sequence, or drag one of your clips to the New Item icon at the bottom of the Project Panel. You can also click that to get the New Sequence option.

Why can't I upload pdf files into the US District Court CM/ECF system?

Since the last update to Firefox, I cannot upload pdf files into the Federal Court's e-filing system. When I press the browse file button, all the files (except jpg) files appear inactive and I cannot click on any file, esp. pdf files to upload. I tried it with Safari and had no trouble. I need this resolved asap as I routinely have done all my e-filing with Firefox. I had no issues in the past until the recent update. Thank you.

The Bankruptcy Court announced a few months ago that updated versions of Firefox would not work with the ECF system. You have to download an older version of Firefox. I was able to download Firefox 3.6.19 and I run that only for bankruptcy filings.
I know it doesn't make sense, but it works.
Many people are evidently having the same trouble. I have no idea why the court system doesn't run software that works with the latest versions of Firefox. Or why the latest versions of Firefox don't work with the courts.
I'm looking for a way to notify Firefox and to ask them to fix.
Incidentally, over Labor Day weekend, the Bankruptcy Court - at least in Oregon - did a major software overhaul. But they didn't fix the Firefox issue.

I just solved my own problem a few minutes ago. There was a little switch on the bottom of the Traveldrive. Locked or unlocked (the little lock symbols were so small I couldn't read them without a magnifying glass.

Why can't I access any files on the other computers

I am currently having trouble retrieving files from other local computers within my area that have Airport cards installed on them (as well as this computer I am currently using, which has the base). While it shows that I have a good connection between the computers on the network, I am unable to access any files from said computers externally, only the local servers show up. Is there any way to remedy this?

Problems with buttons and links at the top of the page not working can be caused by an extension like the Yahoo! Toolbar or a Babylon extension that extents too much downwards and covers the top part of the browser window and thus makes links and buttons in that part of the screen not clickable.

I'm trying to drag my files from finder to an external hard drive--I just get the universal "do not" symbol. How do I do this?

1.youd need a program like PARAGON to write to a NTFS drive from your Mac.
2. IF you can offload that data onto your PC or other computer, THEN format same in Mac OSX extended journaled, you can just drag and drop files to it.
3. To show the HD on desktop go to Finder > preferences > General > check on "external disks" and "hard disks"
4. The "EASY" option really is to get another HD for use with your Mac, unless of course you need specific files off that drive ON your Mac.
$70 for a good cheap quality 1TB external USB HD.
5. FAT32 and (better option>) EXFAT can read/write to BOTH Mac and PC (however time machine will not use either)
6. See mac format below, HFS+ i.e. "mac osx extended journaled"
FORMAT TYPES
FAT32 (File Allocation Table)
Read/Write FAT32 from both native Windows and native Mac OS X.
Maximum file size: 4GB.
Maximum volume size: 2TB
You can use this format if you share the drive between Mac OS X and Windows computers and have no files larger than 4GB.

Why can't I transfer any files to an external device?

My MacBook Pro will not let me transfer any files to my external hard drive or android tablet. I can transfer from the device to the macbook but not the other way around. I used to be able to as I have transferred movies from the macbook to the hard drive before but it will no longer allow me to do that. I have downloaded the android file transfer app. How do I fix this?

The external HDD is probably formatted NTFS, for Windows, which allows you to read but not write to it. Click on it with COMMAND + I and check the format.
You can reformat it for Mac or PC and Mac, but reformatting will erase all user data off of the HDD.
You also can use a third party software such as Paragon or Tuxera to write to it.

Why can't i import .mov files into imovie

Everytime recently I've tried to import a .mov file into imovie, its come up with the optimizing video box but nothing happens, I used to import straight from the camera, but I've recently emptied my camera onto my hard drive after a trip to New Zealand and now, when I have tried to import the footage from my hard drive, it does the optimizing video freeze on me. I would like to be able to get these movies into Imovie without having to pay a rediculous amount of money for some little converting program. I originally bought a apple computer, because I thought everything worked with each other, but now, I'm not so sure about that anymore.
Also, I've tried MPEG streamclip and all that did was either freeze on me or make the video size smaller, as in, the sides were pushed in and it ruined the video.

What codec are the files? .mov is a container that can house many different video codecs.
