Why can't I draw over imported images?

If someone could explain to me (in simple terms-I've only been using flash since friday and I don't know the names ofthings properly yet) why I can't draw over impoted images? I've animated something on paper and scanned in the frames. When I import them to flash it either deletes the line as soon as I draw it, or if I create a new layer the drawing stays in all frames, not just one. Pllllllease help, I'm desperate!

When you create a new layer, you can use keyframes to display the image in just one frame. Add a keyframe just after the frame where the image should not be displayed. So rightclick in that frame, and click add keyframe. Then in the new keyframe you can remove the image.
I believe you can use Flash to convert bitmap images to vector images, but I haven't used that function since Flash 2, so I don't know if that still exists. The result might be useless though if the images is too complex. But if it's okay, then you can edit the image itself. Otherwise draw on a layer on top of the image.

Why can't I see recently imported images in my grid view?

I"m using Elements 12. I recently imported new images and normally I can see the images in the grid view. However, I cannot see these new images unless I click on each individual image to open the file. All prior imported images are viewable in the grid view.

The reason why it did not work, is because you had the bottom layer selected which is below the text. All you had to do is create a new layer as Screenprinterladie suggests. You will find the new layer icon at the bottom of the layers panel next to the trash can. And make sure the new layer is above the text and is selected while trying to draw. If for any reason you accidently fill the layer with a color so the layers below can not be seen, you can make sure that layer is select, hit ctrl-a to select all then the delete key. This will remove everything from that layer. This could have been done to the bottom layer and move above the text layer, but the layer is locked and to unlock it all you need to do is drag the padlock to the trash can.
So to recap the last example from whats in the attahcment, all that was needed to be done was drag the padlock to the trash can, then ctrl-a to select all then the delete key (this would remove the white and what was drawn before) if you wanted to keep the drawing, then select color range is required. Then finally drag the layer above the text layer.
In practice it is much quicker than reading all the steps involved.
So best thing to do is practice, practice, practice then ask when you are stuck. Good luck and have fun...

Are you sending the texts to his phone number or his Apple ID? It might be that the texts originated from your phone is to his Apple ID and not his phone number and his Apple ID was not registered for the Message app on his phone. So any texts to his Apple ID is not received by his phone.
Can you receive his texts? If yes, then reply back from what he send you and see if he can receive the texts.

I had never heard of someone using the iPhone Number as the ID in the iMessages account in the Mac version.
i.e without adding an Apple ID
iMessages does allow iPhone numbers and mine lists mine.
I would try this.
Sign Out of the iMessages account and Quit Messages
On the iPhone in Settings > Messages remove the Apple ID
Set the iPhone to Airplane mode for a few minutes (to break with the Server)
On starting the phone up again check the iPhone Number is ticked for iMessages.
If it is add the Apple ID
On the Mac restart Messages
Add the Apple ID
At this point you should get a pop up or two saying the iPhone is using the Number and Apple ID.
Accept these and they get added to the Receive At list and Send From drop down.

If you are unable to select the shuffle images checkbox, follow the steps in this article -
iPhoto '11: Change slideshow settings
Specifically -
To display slides in random order, select “Shuffle slide order.” If you don’t see this option, play the slideshow, move the pointer to make the slideshow controls appear, and then click the Settings button.

Why can't I make a disk Image??

getting Leopard tomorrow. system working great. plan to do an "upgrade installation". backed up all my files (106GB) to an external HDD. so I think I'm ready....
question is - why can't I make a disk image of my "Macintish HD"?
it starts to create the image but Disk Utility comes back and says "Unable to create disk0s2.dmg. Resource busy."
I thought it might be a good idea to do a "complete system backup" just incase something goes wrong with the "upgrade installation".
Since it didn't let me, I just dragged-n-dropped the Users folder to the external HDD, so I got my files backed up.
curious why I can't make a disk image of my WHOLE HDD. can someone enlighten me....

Neither Lion (10.7) or Mountain Lion (10.8) support anything that was written for PowerPC's. Rosetta, which enabled the functionality has been dropped.
You will either need to update or replace the games or consider creating a partition on your drive with Snow Leopard installed and booting into that to run your games.

Depends on your carrier and data plan.
With ATT in the US for example, you can FaceTime via ATT's cellular network if you have a shared data plan only.

Why can't I link to an image in Yahoo! mail options Signature? It works in Explorer.

I use the Yahoo! Mail options Signature to insert a signature every time I e-mail. I have inserted my logo and cannot get the link to work when you browse over the logo.
I could not even copy the link in Firefox, I had to do it in Explorer. This may be the problem.
Why can't Firefox allow images to copy in the Yahoo! signature area and link to them?

How can I make a user imported image rotate on a control?

I am trying to import a graphic to use in place of the needle on an indicator. When i do this, however, the image does not rotate, it merely moves around while maintaining its original orientation.
Is there a way that I can import my own image into a control or indicator, and have it rotate (pivot around some center) when given a numerical input, such as 0 to 360 degrees?

I do know of a way to import an image to control... and have it rotate.
Depending on the complexity of your image, a picture control may be usefull.
The Robot arm example demonstrates how an angle can be used to control an image. If the image you are trying to import to complex to code, this may not be viable.
If you can be happy with a reduce resolution (i.e. interger degree steps only) you could use your favorite image edit app to rotate the image one degree at a time, and then import each image into a picture ring.
All of these work-arounds lack scaling.

Why can't I print recipes or images like coupons ?

I have the HP Pavilion HPE 180t with Windows 7 and my printer is the HP Officejet 6000 Wireless . Why can't I print things like recipes or some coupons and such ? I get error messages saying an error has occured in the script on this page and there is no connection for the connection ID.

Again, use the snipping tool to copy the page or coupon. Save it, and the print.
This is not using IE to prnt, it circumvents the problem.

Photoshp CS2 - why can't I just cut an image into a circle?

Hi,
I could do this with some lousy Microsoft pictureit my kids had years ago - and yet I cannot do it with photoshop.
Have followed several tutorials saying draw the circle - invert, yadda yadda and I just keep getting errors. Only thing I can cut is a rectangle - in my world we call that cropping.
Please advise - super frustrated by a simple task!
Any help would be appreciated.

OK! Now, see, your answers make a WORLD of difference.
Since you didn't specify I'm going to assume that your versions of Illustrator and InDesign are contemporary to your version of Photoshop.
That being the case, then both of those applications are perfectly happy working with native .psd files. You can place them in either application and they will "understand" and respect the transparency attributes of the Photoshop file you place in those apps.
Now then, rather than deleting any selections you may make, you will be afforded far more flexibility and editability by turning your selections into a mask. A mask will hide whatever it covers, and make it appear as though the masked part of that layer is transparent, revealing whatever might be on any layers beneath the masked layer. You may have a mask on each layer.
Remember that the default indicator for transparency the whole way through to the "bottom" of a file is Photoshop's gray & white checkerboard pattern. If you see that, you're seeing transparency.
For complete transparency, then, you will want to promote your default Background into an actual, floating layer. You do this by double clicking on its name in the Layers Palette.
Also remember that the default Background color is white, and for many projects it won't need to be promoted to a layer. Why? Well, think about it for a minute: White is the abscence of color when printing; so long as there's nothing composited benath or around your masked object, nothing will print where there that Background white color is displayed, and the medium (let's say, for example, that it's a colored or preprinted sheet of paper) will show through.
Of course, like most things with Photoshop, there are lots of things to learn about the process of masking. And for that, I've gathered together a bunch of links to instructional sources at the thread link below. What you need sounds pretty simple, so for now, you can just scan the links in the thread and read up on basic masking procedures.
Once you've done a little homework and experimentation, feel free to return to this thread and asked more focused, specific questions.

I just upgraded to Lightroom CC5 from 4, and the card will only download 1 image from my recent shoot of 10 images. Why can't I see the other images?

Lightroom 5 will only download one image from my card, when I shot 10. Iphoto doesn't have a problem with it. I never had this problem with Lightroom 4.

Sort by capture time and the images won't be "scattered all over the place".
Just show "NEW" photos in the import.
As Jim said, reformat your card after all your backups are done and verified.
