Why can't I find file, edit, view favorites, tools and help features?

I downloaded firefox, but I can't see file, edit, veiw, favorites or tools. Why can I not see these items? and why does firefox crash so many times?

To restore the menu bar see [[menu bar is missing]].
For it crashing, the [[Firefox crashes]] article is a good starting place. If it submits crash reports to Mozilla, can you post some of the crash report IDs (the link above shows how to find them). The crash report IDs may help somebody identify the cause for your crashes.

Hit the '''Alt''' key ''(Cmd for Mac)'' to show the Menu bar, then open View > Toolbars and select Menu bar, so it has a check-mark.

  • When I open Firefox there is absolutely no toolbar at the top. No 'File' 'Edit' 'View' 'Favorites' 'Tools' 'Help' buttons, no anything. Any idea's??

When I open Firefox there is no toolbar at all. I have tried deleting and then re-downloading it, but when I click on the icon on my desktop, all that comes up is a page that says "Widgets, Gadgets, RSS feeds, and more." There is no search box to surf the web, there is nothing.

Turning the Menu Bar on and off is a new feature in version 3.6.

  • The tool bar at the top disappeared (file, edit, view, favorites, tools etc). How do I get it back?

I even loaded the beta4 version to see if that would shake the apple out of the tree, and no luck. There appears to be no tab/button anywhere on the screen to bring it back

Be careful with using the Firefox 4 beta version on your current Firefox 3.6 profile folder as it can modify (upgrade) files and make them incompatible with Firefox 3.6 or can otherwise cause problems at a later time.
In Firefox 3.6 and later on Windows you can hide the "Menu Bar" via "View > Toolbars" or via the right-click context menu on a toolbar.
Press F10 or press and hold the Alt key down to bring up the "Menu Bar" temporarily.
Go to "View > Toolbars" or right-click the "Menu Bar" or press Alt+V T to select which toolbars to show or hide (click on an entry to toggle the state).

I am using CS6 InDesign on a PC using a Windows 7 operating system.
Due to eyesight issues, I need to have the menu bars of programs in easy-to-read font and picture size.  Specifically, the menu bar across the top (File, Edit, View, etc.), and the menu bar on the left side with the graphic depiction of options.
In earlier versions of Windows (e.g. XP), whenever I changed the screen resolution on my computer to a lesser resolution in order to show the link icons on my desktop in a larger, more readable size, all the software programs, including yours, appeared on my screen with the menu bars in the larger font size that I needed.
However, in Windows 7, this is not the case.  Even though I have selected the lowest resolution, making the icons on my desktop extremely large, I cannot read the options across the top menu bar of your program, nor the pull-down menu items that they contain.  I cannot see the graphic depictions of options on the left side of the screen. They are all too small.  How can I make your program increase the size?

    NO way.

    How do I restore it?

    View webpages in full screen
In many applications on the Mac, including Safari, you can expand the window to fill your entire screen. You can make a webpage full-screen with one click, and switch to another webpage (or full-screen window in another application) with a swipe of the trackpad.
IMPORTANT:Viewing in full screen, and the Mission Control feature, are available only if you have Mac OS X v10.7 Lion or later. For information on upgrading Mac OS X, go to the Mac OS X website.
    OS X website
To enlarge a webpage so it uses the screen, click the arrows in the top-right corner of an application window:
To move from one window to another in full screen view, swipe left and right, or press the arrow keys on your keyboard.
To return to standard view, click the arrows in the window’s upper-right corner:
If you prefer viewing webpages in full screen, Mission Control lets you see everything running on your Mac, including your full screen windows. Mission Control presents your full screen windows as thumbnail images, making it easy for you to move from one to another.

  • The File/edit/view/history/tools/help bar and the Back/refresh/and home buttons that used to be on the top left of the screen are no longer there. I want them back

I don't know what I did, maybe download a more recent version of firefox, but I no longer have any of the file/edit/view/history/bookmarks/tools/help bar on upper left hand of the screen.
I also lost the BACK button the refresh or undo button and the home button.
where did they go and how do I get them back?
    Thanks

Aha! I found the "refresh" button at the end of the place where I enter the URL. don't know where "home" is yet, but my home page has mysteriously appeared in the tool bar above the URL.

  • Why can I not find files created with x-rite software in color sync folder?

Creating printing profiles for different papers. They are being stored in a hidden folder. Why?

I can only find two library folders out of the three that you are speaking of. It is my understanding that in 10.7 and 10.8 they changed where and access to certian files.
I'm just really stumped why it would hide files that are being used by more than application when I can put downloaded images in colorsync folder and they are fine.
Thank you for your help and suggestions

  • Why can't I "FIND" files anymore?

Since I upgraded to Leopard (previously Panther) I am no longer able to do a simple "Find" for files that are stored on my back-up drive. I archive all my job files on the back-up drive, but I sometimes reuse certain files at a later date. Because I've created them, I'm able to recall the name or a part of the name. For example, when I was in Panther (with OS 9 operating in the background), I was able to type in a portion of the name, say "Night" – short for "NightofaThousandStars" and I'd get a list of anything with the name "Night" in it and I could locate the file that way. Even if it was created 4 years ago. Now I get obscure files that don't include the word "Night" in them. I'd appreciate any help.

Have you indexed the ext HD? System Preferences/Spotlight/Privacy tab and ensure the ext HD isn't listed. For stuff on Spotlight and searching in Leopard, start with http://www.pinkmutant.com/articles/Leopard/leospot.html and my mod to Finder's Find at http://discussions.apple.com/message.jspa?messageID=6725932 for what you can change so you can find stuff excluded by the default structure.
