Why can't I find music in the iTunes store?

First of all, I live in Russia, I don't know if that has anything to do with the problem, but I can not find music at all in the iTunes store, only apps, books, podcasts and iTunes U.

  • How can I upload my music to the iTunes Store for others to Purchase

I am the co-founder & webmaster for a small non-profit organization *"Dreams Fulfilled Through Music"*. We provide adaptive music education & music therapy services to children & adults w/ special needs. Our mission is to bring the joy making music to ALL with special needs.
As part of that mission we have the *+_WORLD'S ONLY_+ Accordion Orchestra that is comprised completely of children & adults that have special needs and senior citizens who act as their mentors.* This ensemble, the *_Alamo Angels Accordion Orchestra_* has made several DVDs & some audio recordings of their performances and I would like to make them available to the world via the iTunes Store but I cannot figure out how to do this!! I cannot find anywhere on the iTunes Store website to add our performing ensemble as an artist that has their recordings available in the iTunes Store.
Can someone please help me figure out how to make our recordings available to the world via iTunes??
If anyone would like more information on *Dreams Fulfilled Through Music* (which is designated by the U.S. IRS as a 501c3 Non-Profit Organization) please visit our website @ www.dftm.org or follow us on twitter @alamoangels. (btw... we are just starting to use Twitter so there aren't very many tweets on our Twitter profile yet!)

  • Why can't I find CarPlay on the app store?

If you search for the app CarPlay on the apple website, it gives you all this information on the app. but I can't find it in the app store. I have searched "apple carplay" "carplay" and "car play" and I can't find it.
Am I searching wrong? Am I missing something?

That link didn't say anything about where or HOW to get to get car play, which was my question. All it did was tell you what it was and how great it was and who it was available for. So I did read the link I posted, before I posted. After tracking down a video through pioneer, it looks like if you have the firmware update all you do is plug in your phone and it loads carplay on the stereo screen.

  • Finding music at the iTunes store....

Hello, I am trying without luck to find a song, "One at a Time" by Travis McCoy at the iTunes store. I just read about this fundraising song in an interview with the artist in paper called "Metro News" He said that it was available through iTunes. Could he be wrong? Thanks for any help, Curious R

I don't personally get a lot from the iTunes Store forum, no, but that's not to say that it isn't useful for many people. The Discussions in general for me have been quite useful; not only do I frequently find answers to issues my users face or may face, often the questions posed cause me to research and learn a lot. In fact, I'd say I've learned more while trying to answer someone else's question than I do any other way (you know the old saying: if you want to really learn a subject, try to teach it).
    Regards.
BTW, I've also gotten really good at Google searches as a result of my time helping out in the Discussions.

  • Why can't i find iBooks on the App store from my MacBook Air?

I have iBooks on my iPad and use it to store critical work PDF's.  I went to the App store on my MacBook

This is why people use Amazon...
You can't use iBooks on a desktop. You may want to give the Kindle app a try.

  • Why can't you purchase stuff from the itunes store if you're not in that country? I'm in South Africa and most of the best things I want to download are on the US itunes, so I try switch to it but it won't let me download or purchase? I don't get it?

I don't get why? What's the harm if you're in a different country? We all pay the same way and the internet was made to connect people over the world, stuff is downloaded from different global destinations millions of times a day. So what's the point of having an itunes store and App Store that limits you to the boring stuff in your own country? You read about these great app's, bands etc and find them in search engines, you have all the Mac products, but then you can't use them coz of where you're currenlty living? It's like a horrible tease!
Is there a way around this? Or what can be done in order to access the things I want?
    Any advice, suggestions anyone?

The reason is licensing - artists/record companies/TV networks/movie distributors all have separate licensing deals in different countries (or no licensing deals at all). It isn't mysterious or secret.
The only way around this is to have an iTunes account in the other country - either a valid credit card with billing address in that country, or an iTunes gift card from that country (though you'll still be asked for a billing address in the country for which you've purchased the card).

  • HT6119 I live in Australia and I want to buy books written in Spanish. Why can't I find any at the iBook store?

Is it a way to buy books in other languages?

You can only buy the books that are available in your country's ibookstore. If there are particular ibooks that you would like to buy in Spanish then you can try requesting that they be added, but unless the publisher/rights-holder for Australia agrees to it then Apple won't be able to sell them there : http://www.apple.com/feedback/itunes.html

  • HT201272 why can't I re-download already purchased music from the itunes store?

why can't I re-download already purchased music from the itunes store?

What country are you in ? Re-downloading music isn't currently possible in all countries (the record companies need to agree to it for each country). If you are in a country where music can be re-downloaded, then if the tracks are still in the store then they should show under the Purchased link under Quicklinks on the right-hand side of the iTunes store home page on your computer's iTunes.

  • Why can't i purchase music from an overseas store

Why can't I purchase music from the US ITunes Store when based in AUS. I can't even find the music I want in searches unless i search overseas.

This has been covered here many times already, but once again: Apple has no choice in the matter. It's due to restrictions placed on Apple by the record companies and other rights holders.  Quoting from This Business of Music (10th Edition) (by M. William Krasilovsky and Sydney Shemel et. al,  Random House LLC 2007) (and thanks to the Mimico Kid for the reference) :
The difficulty of establishing workable business models for digital files (...) extends to where they are sold and where they are played. This is the issue of territoriality, and it is an illustration of how the Internet makes it necessary to reexamine basic assumptions that have been taken for granted (...).
(....) In the music business the primary problem is that copyrights are national and therefore specific rights are tied to national laws and the interpretations of national courts.
(.... T)hough we can one day hope to see the development of common standards with respect to copyright, the fact that the music business is building upon a history of nation-specific contractual relationships means that the goal of universal international standards is not, for the forseeable future, a practical one.
(...) Adding to the difficulty (...) the copyrights themselves may have been assigned to different companies in different territories. The best hope for a cleaner start and a simpler future is worldwide recognition that digital uses are in fact - and should be in law - totally new.
The content owners don't like cross-border sales of CDs either, but there's nothing they can do to stop such sales. They can, though, and do stop cross-border download sales, since if the download stores refuse, the rights holders won't license the tracks to that store.
So unless and until the record companies, et. al,  all get together and agree to allow download stores to sell cross-border, there's absolutely nothing Apple or any other download store can do.

  • The computer that I first used to download iTunes is no more. I have a new computer that I set my wife up on.  While I can see all my music in the iTunes library I cannot sync my iPod

The computer that I first used to download iTunes, to buy songs and to sync my iPod Nano to iTunes is no more.  I have a new computer that I inadvertently set my wife up on.  When I sign in, while I can see all my music in the iTunes library, when I tried to 'sync', I have lost all my music in my iPod and I now have my wife's library on there instead.
I subscribed to iTunes Match, thinking that this would help.  It hasn't and I'm not happy!
I have arranged to take my iPod into an Apple store next Tuesday but isn't there something you can tel me to do that ties my iPod wth my music and leaves my wife's music for her iPod?  Please help, I am so frustrated and have wasted so much time on this, reinstalling iTunes, restoring my iPod....
    Can anyone help?

Most of the people on these forums, including myself, are fellow users - you're not talking to iTunes Support here, we won't know why.
What happens when you try to buy something, does the 'buy' button not work, do you get any error messages ... ?
If you are getting a message to contact iTunes Support then you can do so via this link and ask them for help : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Purchases, Billing & Redemption
