    To all frustrated Photoshop users:
    As has been pointed out, the Adobe Photoshop Forum is NOT staffed by Adobe employees (though a few engineers DO stop by, when they have the time), and we are but users, such as yourself. The difference is that many users here have decades of experience with Ps, and can often solve all sorts of issues, of a technical nature.
    Ranting, and listing bad experiences with Adobe Technical Support (or Customer Support), will NOT reach Adobe - just other users, who might have also had negative experiences with Adobe T/S, but who are powerless to change anything, at a corporate level - also noted by others in this thread.
    We, as users, have no access to any communications that you might have had with T/S - no phone logs, no case numbers, nothing. All that we have is what YOU provide us, regarding YOUR problem.     Please be patient, as we are all volunteers (even the Adobe engineers come here on their own time - it's most likely not part of their job descriptions), and drop by the forum, when we have a moment. This is not a "live chat room," where "operators are standing by." However, with the number of contributing users here, it should not take too long, before someone DOES reply to your post. If they have questions, please answer them, to the best of your abilities, and do not hesitate to ask for clarifications, if you are not sure what they are asking, or where to obtain that information. Also, please be courteous, when replying to the users, who are donating their time - they get zero, beyond the satisfaction of helping other users get answers and solutions. If they DO help, which is likely, a simple "thank you," is the best that they can receive. If they DO help, please take a moment to let them know, and also use the "Correct," and "Helpful" buttons in the forum, to let Adobe Corporate know that you got help in the Adobe Forums - they DO count those numbers, though they do not monitor these forums.

    You're probably using IE11. This is a known problem with Internet Explorer 11, which Microsoft has been aware of since October 18 when they released their latest "untested" browser. The pages can't recognize the browser, so they don't recognize any of the plugins, like Flash Player. So far, Microsoft has made NO indication that they have any plan to fix it soon.
    Microsoft's recommendation is to use Compatibility View for affected pages, and "pretend" you're using an different browser. Trouble with that is it has seen limited success at best, and you have to individually enable it for EVERY page that has problems.
    I'm not big on "pretending" so I recommend actually using another browser, at least until Microsoft gets their act together and fixes IE..

    Opera (from Opera)
    Safari (from Apple)
    Chrome (from Google)
    ANY of those will work where IE11 won't, with the Flash Player Plug-in (For all other browsers), and Chrome doesn't even need that because it has its own Flash Player plugin built in.

    I am going to school online and I need to print a pdf document that my instructor had me download from my online classroom.  I can get the pdf to print in grayscale but I can't get it to print in color.  It doesn't have anything to do with my printer, I have already worked with HP and they said it is not a problem on the printer side.  I have tried everything I can think of, but still can't get it to work - and other people can print it just fine on their computers, it has to be something wrong with my Adobe program or settings.  (And I don't know anything about any of that, so any very detailed help would be great!)

    Are you able to print any color pdf document in color print rather than grayscale using Adobe Reader and  the same HP printer, or is the issue specific to a particualr document?
    If latter is the case, could you please send the document to shilpi at adobe dot com?

    To manage your account, click Account > My Information in the upper-right area of the Adobe PDF Pack application window.
    First Name, Last Name, Adobe ID, Password: For your password, enter at least six characters that include at least one letter and at least one number.
    Language: Use the menu to select a language (U.S. English, U. K. English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, or Spanish) for the user interface.

  • Why can't I get the Preview application to open PDF files?

    Since the end of April 2014,  I have had problems with the Preview application. When I try to open Preview, I get the following message: "This application 'Preview.app can't be opened." "-1712.". I tried a recommended solution that I found in the Apple Support Communities, which said I could go to Finder > press the Option key  to show Library and then go Preferences and then search for the Preview plist file and delete it.
    Unfortunately, that did not work.
    Two other Apple owners had the same problem and said the above procedure had worked for them, but post were back in the year  2012. When I followed the above procedures, it did not make any change in the problem with Preview. I still cannot open it. Does any one out there have an suggestions?
    It is possible that any recent updates for MacBook Pro from Apple caused the problem? Will I forever have to resort to using Adobe's PDF program?

    -1712 is a timed out error. One reported cause (with other applications) is that the application is attempting to open a large number of files, or a file that no longer exists.
    Try holding down the shift key when launching preview. This prevents the application from attempting to open windows that were not closed before quitting the application.

    Try this:  Before attempting to open (i.e., play) an application that uses Adobe Flash Player, click on Tools, then take a look at the line for ActiveX Filtering.  If the box is checked, uncheck it (i.e., turn off ActiveX Filtering).  This worked for me; I hope it does for you as well.
