Why can't I get Adobe Reader to download on my mac?

Error message 'installation failed' comes up only a few seconds after starting download. Have had my MacBook Pro OS X 10.7.2 for less than a year, and downloaded microsoft office for word processing. Does the error message “PKInstallSandbox-tmp” relate to this in any way?? Am not in any way IT literate and have no idea how to solve this problem. I need Adobe Reader to submit assignments so it is really important. Any advice?

Perhaps because you don't know what you have (because there is no product called "adobe pdf translator"), Also perhaps because you aren't in a place to get support from Adobe. If you'd like us in the community to try to help, we might, if you can help us understand what is wrong. What is the specific product you are trying to use, and what happens when you try to use it. Please give any error messages exactly.

As has been pointed out, the Adobe Photoshop Forum is NOT staffed by Adobe employees (though a few engineers DO stop by, when they have the time), and we are but users, such as yourself. The difference is that many users here have decades of experience with Ps, and can often solve all sorts of issues, of a technical nature.
Ranting, and listing bad experiences with Adobe Technical Support (or Customer Support), will NOT reach Adobe - just other users, who might have also had negative experiences with Adobe T/S, but who are powerless to change anything, at a corporate level - also noted by others in this thread.

try googling it. Else you can always ask applecare. They will guide you with
same.

Appears essential to keep resource-forked data off Lion disk:
First attempt with Eudora on SL VM was sharing data on Lion disk. Error messages on open like "can't find Table of Contents" suggest Lion ate resource forks crucial to Eudora.
Found success by transferring data from SL Mac to thumb drive, then mounted drive in SL VM so Lion couldn't touch.
While Michael warns against storing data in VM, appears there's no choice with Eudora. At least She's enthroned on a mirrored RAID.
There is Nothing like Eudora! (to tune of "There is Nothing Like a Dame" from South Pacific -- Oops! my gray hair is showing!)
(It's amazing Parallels can force Lion to store taboo resource forks. Thank God for code warriors!)

You cannot download programs from anywhere but the official App Store.
Flash is not available but Adobe does have a version of Adobe reader in the App Store-it is for reading PDFs.

The problem might be that the highest Adobe Reader available is for the Mac OS Intel 10.5.6 - 10.6.4.
I really need this to work, because I need to download and install this properly before I can install the Oracle Information Rights Management (IRM) Desktop Download.
I need this so I can unseal .spdf files and be able to read my ebook. I can't read it online, but I can download it straight from CengageBrain.

I work for a company with several users and we're having an issue with Adobe Reader. I download Adobe Reader from Adobe.com and it installs like normal and even confirms it's installed. However, I try and find the reader and it is nowhere to be found. It's not in the programs folder, start menu, all programs, or even Add/Remove Programs. Please help. If you need any information just let me know.

Since you mention Add/Remove Programs I assume that you are on Windows (XP?).
Further assuming that you installed Reader XI, how did you install it - using the download manager (install_reader11_en_mssd_aih.exe), or the offline installer from http://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/ (AdbeRdr11000_en_US.exe) ?
Using the offline installer you can modify the install location; did you do that?
By default Reader XI would install in C:\Program Files\Adobe\Reader 11.0\Reader
You didn't get a desktop shortcut either?

I can not get Adobe Reader to download.

I turned off the firewall even. My computer has been all revamped and I'm trying very hard to download. It will not do it.

I have installed the newest version of Adobe Reader and when I go to print pdf document it won't open the document at all and says I need to install the latest version of Adobe Reader. I keep repeating all the steps only to keep having the same problem.

The lack of security updates requires me to update any old OS. Unless you never connect to anything on the Internet with the computer OR you never have anything to protect on your computer running such a computer leaves you open to theft, fraud, etc. The major problem with Mavericks and soon with OS X.X is unfamiliarity. Sure they have features we don’t like. But I bet so did the one you are running, when you upgraded to it.
Having said that I really got miffed when I was required to update my TV to work with digital signals. I have no trouble telling people to upgrade their computer, but ask me to upgrade my TV those were fighting words.

I have changed my password and everytime I try to download Adobe Reader it asks for a password. I can't remember it, but have changed it in my account settings. It still won't recognize the new password or allow me to download.

Why can't I upgrade to Flash player 11 on my iMac desktop? It is an OS X Version 10. 5. 8.

There is no flash player for the iphone and Adobe would be the one to develop one, not Apple. And there are no plugins to install instead, as far as I know.
