Why can't I get albums to work for me?

I'm struggling with creating a new site for my business that uses albums to display my portfolio images. I have everything working like it should inside iWeb, but when I publish to a folder or upload it to a website, the albums just work as images and do not link to the gallery of images inside.
I have two galleries on my portfolio page. Within iWeb, I can click on either album and get the images to open in slideshow and other modes. For some reason, though, the link is broken to prevent the album from working as a link to the images within when it is translated to a working webpage. What am I doing wrong? I dragged an iPhoto gallery to the gallery page to create each album and am able to do all of the navigation I would expect within iWeb.

is in front of the albums that's why they don't work... What you should do is remove this frame...

A Playlist idiot. Why can't I get this to work?

In iTunes I have music Playlists set to shuffle (blue double arrow button) and audio books Playlist set no shuffle. I have been unable to get my iPod to follow these settings. A suggested work around is to use the iPod Settings to set the shuffle function to "songs" when playing music and then switching to off for audio books. There has to be a better way. How do I set the Playlists on my iPod to function the same as it does on iTunes?

Using your process are you able to set your iPod to shuffle then listen to the audio book without it shuffling the chapters? I have tried your suggestion with the iPod setting set to shuffle and the chapters shuffled. This is the issue from my original post. I want to listen to music with the shuffle function and listen to audio books (no shuffle) without having to change the settings every time I switch.
Keep in mind that is not a purchased audio nor a imported book.

Why can't I get actions to work? BAFFLED

Hi, I'm a graphic designer, really not up to speed in the web world. I made myself an idiosyncratic little website using edge animate, learning from the built it lessons (I would appreciate any feedback concerning as I'm stumbling around here, if anyone can be bothered )
I wanted to add an email link to the end of it, also, some kind of 'skip to the end' feature that appears from the beginning, and eventually a link to a portfolio site. But I can't get ANY actions to work.
However, when I make a new file, I can do all these things. I can draw a rectangle, and make it clickable so that it jumps to the end, or opens an external site. It does this as expected, when I 'preview in browser'. But my main animation that I've spent hours mucking around with, does nothing. Mouse clicks do absolutely nothing...
So, I'm baffled, and any help would be appreciated greatly.
Here's my site, its a simple html thing with the edge animation embedded. I'd never offer these services for a client, but I thought I might be able to cobble something together for myself. As I said, any feedback would be welcome, as I'm stumbling around a bit. Ok a lot.

I'll past the code below, but actually it think this eror relates to a symbol I created when I was trying to get an email link working, and I forgot to delete it. Though it didn't work, I'm not sure it has much to do with WHY I couldn't get actions to work in the first place, as nothing else I tried, very simple things like a link to an external webpage worked either. Yet they did when I attempted it with a new animate project. Not sure.

Why can I not get the Web Icon for some of my saved Bookmarks

Many of my saved Bookmarks have their correct Web Icons.
However many fail to save their Web Icon leaving the Icon blank.
The Web Sites in question do have specific Web Icons.
I have tried deleting the Bookmarks in question and saving them again without success.
Why can I not get these icons to be saved in the Bookmarks?

No problem here with that TalkTalk website, the favicon image saves immediately when I save it as a bookmark. It uses a conventional favicon.ico image in the root directory <br />

With Barcalays iBank I can't figure out where the website image in the Location bar is being loaded from.
With Barclaycard, the favicon saves with the new bookmark, even though that image is in a non-standard location. <br/>

Close the Messages app, then turn it off in the settings, reboot your iPad and after it starts up, turn Messages on again and see if it works.
To close messages completely - Tap the home button once. Then tap the home button twice and the recents tray will appear at the bottom of the screen. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the rhe messages icon. Tap the home button twice.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

I have signed my applet, and everything is cool, but how do I let the user allow me to open UDP datagram packets?
I have seen a whole bunch of stuff about policy files, but Sun doesn't expect the user to have to run some wierd policy tool right?? How can it happen that the user allows me to do whatever I want ... I signed my Jar, created certificate, but how do I get the policies to be sent with my Jar?? The user should only need to click once or twice to say yes I trust this applet, and I want to do whatever i want ... Why can't I open datagram sockets?
On another note, the reason I want to do this is to create a game, where I need a fast connection between players. I don't want to bounce everything through the server for obvious reasons, but I don't want to use the normal Socket either between players since that is supposed to be slower than datagram ... my plan is to use datagram sockets between players for gameplay connectivity, and ServerSocket/Socket between server and each player (for updating scores, etc, less traffic) ... is this a good plan? do I have the right idea?

Can I possibly get Premiere to work for this project?

Hi. I am working on a time lapse scanner photography project. I scan flowers a few times an hour and then make videos of them drying out. I'm currently making a movie of it all. The thing is, the scans can be thousands of pixels high/wide. The problem arises when I make sequences with 20 or more of these videos (scaled down to around 10% in Premiere) moving together. It becomes almost unusable on my older Macbook Pro. Doing the more complex parts of it is also very inconvenient on a new iMac. Because I'm working with so many files, I tried out After Effects. Its proxying feature excited me, but it soon became clear that AE is meant mostly for shorter projects, and not for clips that can get 40 GB + in size. For example, in trying to make tiny proxies of clips last night, only four succeeded. It seems that the rendering is centered on your available RAM, and when it runs out (a few seconds into the first clip) rendering becomes very slow. This might work for ads or something, but not for this project. Maybe I'm not using it correctly though.
So I don't know what to do. I've tried a proxy workaround for Premiere, but that seems to involve working with clips at the resolution you made the proxy at, unlike AE where you can work with a now-more-blurry version of your main file. I tried making a tiny proxy manually, and then upscaling it in Quicktime Pro 7, but that seems to also be slow for Premiere, leading me to think that multiplying the one clip in my test sequence by 20 or more wouldn't be that different.
Does anyone have any ideas as to how do edit a project like this with a reasonably responsive UI? I don't care if I have to spend hours rendering proxies, or rendering the final copy afterwards, I just want to be able to edit without waiting for minutes when I click on a 20 layer part of the movie. I understand that this is probably an abnormal way of using Premiere, as normally one only uses a few layers at a time.
Another idea I had was to do the parts of the movie with 20+ layers in AE, and import them in Premiere to get around AE's focus on shorter lengths. But this doesn't get around the issue that its proxying feature, and rendering engine in general seems to be tailoured towards shorter projects. If you are confused, that's okay, I can elaborate more and provide pictures.

ATI cards will not work for GPU acceleration of the Mercury Playback Engine and only Nvidia cards with at least 1 GB or RAM and at least 96 CUDA cores will allow for a good experience when using the GPU enable Mercury Playback Engine. I have a mediocre GT 240 with 1GB of RAM and it rocks. It is much better than using the software only mode. Software only mode is not bad but GPU enabled is so much better. You will have to trust me on that. A new Macbook Pro would not be wise. In fact $900.00 Dell or HP with at least 96 CUDA cores and 1 GB of RAM would be a much better option. You could in theory get a mediocre $600.00 Quad Core from Best Buy and then buy either a $70.00 Nvidia GT 240 graphics card or even a $135.00 GTX 550 graphics card to put in the system. That would work just as well.

I have new wireless ipad and the ipad1 When trying to use messages it works in ipad1 but I get Could not sign in Please check your network settings and try again message. the facetime won't activate either. my network works because I can get online . What am I doing wrong?

No iMessage and no facetime on my new iPad 3. It won't let me authorize either with my apple ID. but I still get the "Could not sign in, Please check network settings and try again" which I have numeroous time.
My network works fine for everything else.
I can do the iMessage on orginal ipad with no problem which I set up with my apple id. This is very frustrating. Any help would be appreciated.

Why can't I get album LPs through home sharing to my other computer?

I had just setup itunes on my second computer using the same account through home sharing and it all work well. I then bought an entire album from the itunes store with the LP. The LP automatically got on my first computer and is shown on my second. However i can't access it on the second computer. The text is faded as if it were being downloaded, but it isn't.

Why can't I get facetime to work?

I have activated facetime the iphone, the wifi works but when someone calls using facetime, the caller has a ring tone and it just rings and rings. Nothing happens on the receiving end. I have the same issue. My little bro told me to go into the wifi settings, go to advanced, and change the DNS sever from whatever to "8.8.8.8". i was skeptical at first but it worked. The problem now is I still can't facetime with anyone! So maybe its not such a good idea after all. My macbook pro is brand new and came with Lion pre-installed. the next issue too is that i noticed the mac app store is still selling the 1.02 version of the facetime app. i checked my one and noticed I have version 1.1! I think that this is the real problem. I tried buying the app on the App store and it told me to delete the facetime app I have on my MBP because my facetime is a "later version of the app". I tried deleting it but the OS won't allow me to delete it because its already integrated in the system! I realize now that this might not be helping......

I recently established a paid @mac.com account. I entered a user name and password & did the rest of the required things.
A week or so later it occurred to me that I should add the address to my email section (Entourage). Once I had gone through the routine I was informed that that name was already taken.
Well, guess who took it: I did!

Entourage is the Microsoft email program which comes with Office 2004. Mail.app is the native Mac email client.
If you're not using an Exchange server, don't use Entourage.
I'm not sure how you'd go about importing mail, but the setup is pretty simple, once you get the relevant info from your ISP, or from your existing mail setup.
What you need to know (from your ISP):
- use POP3 or IMAP? (typically, they use POP3)
- username and password
- incoming POP3 or IMAP server name
- outgoing (SMTP) server name
The Mac mail setup thingy should prompt you through it. If your ISP says 'we don't support Mac', it doesn't mean it won't work perfectly. You just need the info listed above.
