Why can't I get email using icon?

When I select the mail icon, I receive a page saying Welcome, and a list of 6 mail selections i.e. Cloud, Google, Exchange, Yahoo, Aol, Outlook.com, and other.

Try quitting the email app like I describe then reset your iPad. Double click the Home button to show the screen with running and recently used apps. Each app icon will have a sample page above it. Flick up on the page (not the app icon) and the page will fly away and the app icon will disappear. This quits that app. Then reset your device. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart.

Why can I not get the Web Icon for some of my saved Bookmarks

Many of my saved Bookmarks have their correct Web Icons.
However many fail to save their Web Icon leaving the Icon blank.
The Web Sites in question do have specific Web Icons.
I have tried deleting the Bookmarks in question and saving them again without success.

No problem here with that TalkTalk website, the favicon image saves immediately when I save it as a bookmark. It uses a conventional favicon.ico image in the root directory <br />

With Barcalays iBank I can't figure out where the website image in the Location bar is being loaded from.
With Barclaycard, the favicon saves with the new bookmark, even though that image is in a non-standard location. <br/>

Why can't I get email when traveling?

I can't figure this one out. Everything works fine at home, but like today I am out of town and trying to connect without success. The first place I tried (where my wife is working) allowed me to put in the password and connect but I get the message there is no IP address and after a bit a self-assigned one is given and I am not connected. We tried restarting the router, but no success. Strangely enough, my wife who has a Macbook Pro also (13 inch, newer) was able to connect without a problem.
So, OK, I give up, went to a local library. I put in all the codes, connect OK and able to use Safari but cannot get Mail. If I try to, it starts but then nothing comes in after a while and gives me the symbol of the triangle with the exclamation point in it. I tried restarting but no difference.
So, how can it be that Safari works and Mail does not? In the first instance (wife's work) I could not get on at all. In the library, can use Safari. Strange, isn't it?

Well you could if your email provider allows other ports to be used. But then depending on where you are and how you are connectiong to the net they may also block those ports or ALL port except 80/8080.
Not sure if you are in the USA but I know for a fact most Mcdonalds have WiFi and don't really block anything.

Why can I not get my flashdrive icon to change?

I recently purchased a refurbished iMac from work (I am a graphic artist so this was one of the old computer I worked on until we received new ones). I am trying to change the icon that represents my flashdrive and it is being very subborn. I have followed all the instructions possible via Google and YouTube to go into "Get Info" and copy & paste the icon over that of the flashdrive, but all I see now is the default preview icon that just says the file type (i.e. .png, .ico, .icns, etc.). Even when I choose "Get Info" on the icon, the icon is not that top icon, the default preview is. Below is the icon I am refering to.
I cannot find any help via the internet and I cannot even change the icons back to their original state... I find this incredibly frustrating and annoying. Can anyone provide me with some information/insite on this and a possible way to fix the icon?

I am not understanding how to copy the icon from Preview... I open the graphic and click "Edit - Copy" then click on the icon I want to swap it out with in "Get Info" and click "Edit - Paste" and nothing happens. I cannot use keyboard shortcuts as I do not have an Apple keyboard at the moment.

You can use alternate FRING or Nimbuzz all in one messenger application that supports (Windowes Live,Yahoo and Google Talk etc.) you can download it from OVI Store.

Apple can't reset your Apple ID password for you. It's the same as your MobileMe password.

Can you try to be a little clearer as to what the problem is? You state, "my other iphone", so I'm not so sure what it is you want here.

Why can't I get Email to work in my quiz

I have created a quiz in captivate with the scoring output as
an email. I have tested it by previewing in captivate and the email
worked fine. I then published it and nothing seems to happen when I
press emial. I have checked the settings and also published as an
exe whith the email function working.
Am I missing something here?

Unfortunately sending quiz results via e-mail is fraught with
difficulty. The sad fact is that this has to rely on too many
dependencies:
1. Flash Player
2. Email Client
3. Web Browser
Personally, if this is going to be distributed to a large
number of users, you would be better investing in an LMS or to
consider Breeze.

Why can't I get email since latest update?

i Installed latest software update and no longer are receiving yahoo emails. I restored my iPad from back up, deleted and reinstalled email acct and have tried everything suggestion I have found on line.

This is a known issue with Yahoo emails. If you tried restoring from backup and deleting and reinstalling the account.
Then your next course it to install the Yahoo mail app in the iTunes store.

Have you got notifications muted ? Only notifications (including games) get muted, so the iPod and Videos apps, and headphones, still get sound.
Depending on what you've got Settings > General > Use Side Switch To set to (mute or rotation lock), then you can mute notifications by the switch on the right hand side of the iPad, or via the taskbar : double-click the home button; slide from the left; and it's the icon far left; press home again to exit the taskbar. Why can't I get my email to work on my Ipad?
I've checked everything back to my email on my computer to ensure all details are correct in trying to add the account onto the Ipad. And yet it still won't work.
The error that I keep getting is "One Seniors (the provider) is not responding!!
Does anyone have any suggestions as to why it won't work?
I have internet access and it's working. I'm using WiFi and that's working??

I assume that you mean that you do have an iPhone because messages will not work with any other type of cell phone. You should be able to add your phone number in Settings>Messages>Send & Receive at>You can be reached by iMessages at, if your phone number is lited in there, select it and then uncheck your email address and then the iPad will be using the phone number just like the iPhone.
If you phone number is not listed in there, you probably have to sign out/turn off Messages on the phone and the iPad and then start over again on the phone - and then your phone number should be accessible to use on the iPad.

Appears essential to keep resource-forked data off Lion disk:
First attempt with Eudora on SL VM was sharing data on Lion disk. Error messages on open like "can't find Table of Contents" suggest Lion ate resource forks crucial to Eudora.
Found success by transferring data from SL Mac to thumb drive, then mounted drive in SL VM so Lion couldn't touch.
While Michael warns against storing data in VM, appears there's no choice with Eudora. At least She's enthroned on a mirrored RAID.
There is Nothing like Eudora! (to tune of "There is Nothing Like a Dame" from South Pacific -- Oops! my gray hair is showing!)
(It's amazing Parallels can force Lion to store taboo resource forks. Thank God for code warriors!)
