Why can't i go on the internet but connected to wi-fi

I've been having this problem for the past month. My internet works fine at other locations, but when i get home my wi-fi status bar shows i'm connected, but i still dont have access to any programs requiring the internet. I can not connect on safari or any other browsers, app store, and etc. Can someone please help?

Canon and other manufacturers have not written software....as far as we know.....to allow advanced features when an All-in-One is connected to the USB port on the AirPorts. Only the print function is supported.
You might want to contact Canon if you would like to see them offer full funtionality at the USB port of the AirPorts.

It could be any number of issues...
First who is your ipad cellular provider (AT&T, Sprint, Verizon)? Is your data plan active and up to date on the ipad? You may want to call them and make sure all is well on their end.

If the troubleshooting does not work then the SIM card or iPad may need to be serviced.

Why can my macbook only access the internet from certain wireless sources?

I have tried connecting to the internet at my friends houses with my macbook but even though I can join the network, the internet itself doesn't work. Is there a reason for this? I've even tried to connect to the internet through a wireless network that my friend was accessing with no problem, from his macbook.

Possible reasons for being unable to connect to a strange network:
- Wrong proxy information
- Wrong network password
- Your friends router has "MAC address filtering" turned on.
You might find you can connect by creating a new location like this:
System Preferences > Network
Select the AirPort from the left hand side
Click on the Locations combo box and select Edit Locations...
Click on + to add a new location, give it a memorable name
Select the AirPort tab and enter your network name
Select TCP/IP tab.
Configure IPv4 Using DHCP
Now click on Renew DHCP Lease. After a few seconds you should get an IP address (probably 192.168.x.x)
Click on Proxies tab.
Select Auto Proxy Discovery and Use Passive FTP
Click on OK and Apply, etc.

Mail and Safari no longer connect to the Internet, but connection is live?

I have a Quicksilver G4 running OSX 10.4.11 with Safari 3.0.4 and Mail 2.1.3, connected to the Internet via Ethernet and a BT home Hub setup. Recently the Mac refused to connect to the Internet although a PC connected to the same hub did. I tested the connection with a laptop and found the cable to be fine and a good connection. I ran system diagnostics which tells me the Mac is connected to the Internet and the connection is fine - except that Mail no longer sends or receives mail, and Safari tells me I am not connected to the Internet.
I've tried every test I can think of - the connection appears fine as far as the ethernet cable, Network Diagnostics state that I have a good connection, yet neither application will connect to the server. I have changed no software in years other than Apple updates, and this is the first problem in many months of trouble-free usage.
The BT Home Hub is showing as an active location in system profiler, all else that should be, appears enabled. Can anyone help?

In System Preferences>Network>Proxies Tab, make sure none are checked ON.
Then... Try putting these numbers in Network>TCP/IP>DNS Servers, for the Airport Interface...
208.67.222.222
208.67.220.220
Then Apply
DNS Servers are a bit like Phone books where you look up a name and it gives you the phone number, in our case, you put in apple.com and it comes back with 17.149.160.49 behind the scenes.
So if you put 17.149.160.49 in Safari's URL bar & it connects to Apple, then these DNS numbers should cure it.

You do not use AirPort Utility to connect the Mac to the wireless network. AirPort Utility is only needed to set up a new AirPort router or make changes to the existing settings on an AirPort router.
Click the fan shaped AirPort icon at the top of the Mac's screen
Turn Wifi On
Click Join Other Network
Click Show Networks
Select the WiFi network
Enter the password for the network
Click Join

Since upgrading to version 6 why can't I get on the internet

I upgrade last week on Tuesday the 24/9 my Apple TV from then kept losing the network connection, a fees days of this and then it stopped picking up any network even if I try to enter manual it doesn't find a network. I have restored twice via my computer , I can use it by Ethernet but not wifi. This is so frustrating

Obvious? How is a hardware issue obvious? Unless something physically went bad in the unit it's not a hardware issue. It's obviously an issue related to the software update (Version 6.0 and as of this morning I believe 6.1) that has cause mass problems for users. These problems have ranged from inability to connect to airplay, all the way to bricking the unit completely. What GeoffBeeby and myself are looking for is a resolution, not someone to tell us that the obvious issue is something that would be a statistical anomaly.

Disconnect all USB and Firewire devices (except keyboard and mouse, if applicable.) Delete and try to recreate your Ethernet connection.
If unsuccessful, reset the SMC and try again.

If still unsuccessful, back up all data, then boot into Recovery and reinstall the Mac OS.

If still unsuccessful, make a "Genius" appointment at an Apple Store to have the machine tested.

Probably you need to uninstall the software to eliminate that problem.

I have no idea what the "freezer fix" is, nor why anyone would think temporary exposure to cold will somehow fix a hardware issue with a 100% solid state device. Also, actually freezing your iPhone may very well itself cause damage.
If you dropped it and wifi immediately failed to work, the odds are you inflicted physical damage to it - perhaps the antennae connection internally. You could try a simple reset and see if that helps, but if not, you need to take it into Apple for an evaluation and diagnosis.
If it has internal damage, since you dropped it, your warranty no longer applies. Apple does not repair iOS devices, the merely swap them for factory refurbished units (and send your damaged one back to the manufacturer in China for refurbishment or recycling). You would ahve to pay the out of warranty replacement fee (look on your country's Apple web site, under support for the iPhone for fees).

I do not know if it's relevant or not, but I got a message on my ipad while on safari saying that my iPhone has a virus. I looked it up and it seems it might have just been an ad from the website I was on, but it happened around the same time YouTube stopped working.

You will find that using the YouTube app will provide a better viewing experience for YouTube videos.

When Mozilla Firefox last automatically updated, it suggested that Adobe Reader needed updating. After updating to Adobe Reader 8, I can no longer print from the internet, only to a file. I know the printer and its interface must be OK because Word prints normally.

Problem solved, it was my oversight, I had not removed the check from the Print to File box in the print set up.

It is not possible to downgrade to an earlier version.

And you dont need iTunes to update you're device. You can update it OTA in Settings > General > Software Update
