Why can't I hook up to my own WiFi network?

I am unable to hook up to my own home WiFI from Brighthouse. I have my phone set on auto to ask to join networks and always in the past it has gone immediately to my network, but now says" unable to join network." Is this an iPhone problem, Brighthouse problem, router problem?

It was OK until 2 or 3 days ago and no settings or connections have been changed. That is the strange thing. I'm going to try the suggestion of shutting off the router and turning it back on. Then there will be a call to Brighthouse.

Close your iTunes,
Go to command Prompt -
(Win 7/Vista) - START>PROGRAMS>ACCESSORIES, right mouse click "Command Prompt", choose "Run as Administrator".
(Win XP SP2 n above) - START>PROGRAMS>ACCESSORIES>Command Prompt
In the "Command Prompt" screen, type in
netsh winsock reset
Hit "ENTER" key
Restart your computer.
If you do get a prompt after restart windows to remap LSP, just click NO.
Now launch your iTunes and see if it is working now.
If you are still having these type of problems after trying the winsock reset, refer to this article to identify which software in your system is inserting LSP:

SYSTEM_PARAMETER is a table owned by X. If I qualify the select statement by adding the owner it works, but of course I do not want to do that. Here is the DDL for creating SYSTEM_PARAMETER:

This procedure exists in 4 other environments where there are no issues. It can't be a privileges issue as the table is owned by user X and as you can see by the lookup (which was added for debug) against ALL_TABLES the owner is clearly X. So, why can X not select from it's own table unless we include the owner?

Open Macintosh HD > Applications > Utilities > AirPort Utility
Click on the picture of the AirPort Express
Click Edit in the smaller window that appears
Click the Wireless tab at the top of the next window
Edit the Wireless Network Name
Keep it short.....maximum 10-12 characters or so. No blank spaces or punctuation marks in the name
Click Update at the lower right of the window to save the new setting and wait a full minute for the AirPort to restart

TS1398 Why is it that my iPod 'connects' to a wifi network but doesn't log an IP address and can't use the internet?

My iPod has no trouble connecting to my wifi connection, but never stops loading. The wifi bars appear at the top of the iPod, but when you get further details on the wifi network, no IP address is logged; neither is the router number or the DNS number. My iPod registers that a wifi connection exists, but it can't hook up to it to use the internet. Does anyone know what is wrong?

Why can I no longer connect to my home WIFI

Hi All
This is my first post and I know from searching online for the last week or so for a solution that this has been a problem for others before. I have tried all of the proposed solutions I have found including, resetting the network settings, resetting all settings, turning the wifi on and off, manually enterring information used within another phone on the manual element of the wifi setup.
I still cannot connect my phone to my home WIFI despite it being conencted for over a year with no problems, and also having other iphones, laptops and Ipads that can connect.
The phone that wont connect can still pick up other WIFI networks and barely finds my home WIFI.
I would really appreciate some help with this as we rely on the WIFI due to not picking up great 3G in my area.

I have had the same issue many times with Apple products (Mac, Macbook Pro, IPad) when I have been travelling (hotel, restaurant, coffee shop etc. wifi) or using an "off-site" wifi system. The solutions seems to be to unplug your router from the wall and wait about 10-seconds than plug the unit back in. Works everytime for me.

The program doesn't freeze, the system doesn't hang, I get no "Can't save..." error message; the "Save" command just seems to do nothing. I can save to my Desktop fine, but across the network...? P-f-f-f-f-f-t-t!!
InDesign and Photoshop will save wherever I tell them to, local or remote, but Illustrator apparently just doesn't want to be cooperative.
I'm running Creative Cloud on OS X (10.8.5) across a MS Server 2008 (I believe) network.
Any answers greatly appreciated because, while saving locally then manually copying my work over to the share is certainly DOABLE, it just seems like a really kludgey solution.

I just had a similar problem. Both the ipad 1 and ipad 2 in my household quit connecting to the network even though it seemed to recognize it. if you think it is recognizing your network, just not connecting, check to see if bluetooth is turned on. i had to turn bluetooth off and then manually enter the DNS number.
My solution also came after I re-started my network and reset all the settings on the ipad2. The DNS number then showed along with IP submet Mask and router. I used that dns number to enter into ipad1 after turning bluetooth off on it.
Totally unscientific fix that may have been more coincidental than correct but you might try it. BTW--no idea how bluetooth even got turned on to begin with.

You do not say if you tried any diagnostic steps yet. The first thing to do is to do a reset or reboot of the phone. This does not erase anything on the phone and is akin to completely shutting the phone off and then a fresh reboot.
First close all apps - double click on the home button and whisk away the apps toward the top of the phone to close the app.
Now press the home button once to go back to the regular menu screen
No press and hold the home button and the sleep/wake button the the top right side together for 10 seconds. The phone will turn off and reboot.
See if that fixes it.

Why Can't I Recieve Email Outside Of My Home Network Server?

So i just got my iphone and am having problem with my email. I have a shaw account ( i live in canada) that is synced with my mail on my macbook. when i plugged in my iphone it immediately obtained the information it needed and used it as my email for my phone, which was perfect. However, i can only receive mail when i hook up to my wifi internet network at my home. As soon as i leave its wifi range and even go into 3g range, i can not receive any email. Why is is this? Can anybody help me with this problem?

Before we go into the why you are not able to copy your iTunes content to an external hard drive, what is the purpose of copying the content there? The reason I ask is because there are different scenarios that may be done differently. So if you just want to move the media off your internal hard drive, then look at the first article to walk you through how to just move the media folder by using iTunes to start the transfer. If you are copying the media to move it to another computer, then check the format of the external hard drive and make sure that it is formatted for Mac. Take a look at the last two for information on finding out the format as well as steps to get it formatted for Mac. Let me know what you find out.
