Why can't I import a .txt file to a PDF created in Livecycle Designer?

I am trying to import data into a PDF, simple stuff like names and addresses. I've saved my spreadsheet as a tab delimited .txt file, but when i go to import data in the PDF, .txt files are not an option. Is there a setting in Livecycle or in Acrobat that I haven't found?

Is there a way for me to import the data to a PDF created in LiveCycle designer?

Well, then I almost ran out of ideas. The only other option that would entail this error message I know of is 'Per Channel' Pixel Order. If it were the matter of a bit depth, you'd get another error message...
    Appreciate the thought!
It has to be a killer bug. It worked 2 weeks ago, last time I did it.
Per Channel Pixel Order? It is regular, bog standard. Should work either progressive or interlaced (and has done in the past).
Here's the info from "Image Data" in PhotoShop CC:
Could it be the PhotoShop CC update has broken this? If so - how do I revert back?

  • Why can't I import anything? "File video dimensions (width/height) too large"

New to PP CS4 here (that will be obvious momentarily...).  I can't seem to import any footage into any project (well, at least none of the bits I've tried, and I don't think there's anything 'wrong' with them).  Every time I attempt to do so, I get the error:
    Dialog title: File Import Failure
Error Message: File video dimensions (width/height) too large.
This occurs with every files I've thrown at it - admittedly, they all have a lot in common, but they're not particularly exotic.
The files are (mostly) AVI files (I know, I know...before I get jumped, I understand it's just a wrapper, etc.). The files come from two cameras:
    1. A Sony DCR-TRV20. Opening up the AVI in QuickTime Player, I see it's listed as "DV/DVCPRO - NTSC 640X480"
    2. Canon PowerShot A620. Opening up the AVI in QuickTime Player, I see it's listed as "MotionJPEG OpenDML 320x240"
    3. I somehow managed to get the AME to spit out a FLV file. That failed to import with the same error message, too.
I tried running these files through AME, and got the same results (although never having used AME previously, I have a question on that, below).
New project, settings are all (I think) the defaults: Preset DV-NTSC/Standard 32kHz
New installation of PP CS4, with the 4.1 update, on a PC running Vista 32 with all the endless MS updates applied.
Related question: I've skimmed other threads here, and noted the advice to "always convert any non-standard footage to DV-AVI Type II" before importing....however, I see no such option for that output format in AME....only generic things like "Microsoft AVI" and "Uncompressed Microsoft AVI".
Codec issues?  I'm a little skeptical, since these AVI files play just fine in Windows if I double-click them. Does that not suggest that there's a codec there for them?  The files are from (what I believe to be) garden-variety consumer cameras (these devices are a bit old and certainly not high-end, but they're hardly exotic formats, I think). The files are small, short clips I'm attempting to use just to learn Premiere, but it gags on every one of them, every time.
PP is so insistent that every file I throw at it has improper dimensions, but these files appear to be perfectly reasonably sized, and I assume it's operator error (I'm withholding judgement on the quality and accuracy of the error string it's presenting me).  But I'm not sure where to look for the right knob to twist.  Pretty frustrating to be stuck on Square 1 (actually, Square Zero).
Can someone point me in the right direction?
Please be gentle, it's my first time....

    Thanks, but....mmmm....maybe not.
I've tried multiple settings for New Projects. Just created a new one using the preset for DV-NTSC/Widecsreen 48kHz (frame size 720 x 480, 48 kHz audio).  Exactly the same results.
You say "To point you in a certain direction, DV from a TRV is 720x480, not 640x480."  However, according to QuickTime's Movie Inspector panel, the file is 640x480.  This clip was captured through Premiere - that wouldn't change its aspect ratio, would it?
The files from the Canon still camera are AVI files, not still images (so I don't see how the reference to Photoshop applies, or perhaps I misunderstood your point). They are 320x240, according to QuickTime's Movie Inspector panel. If they're 320x240, wouldn't that be the same aspect ratio as 640x480?  Attempting to import them, I get the same error....
While not exactly Hollywood quality, I just need files to play with as I attempt to learn the program, and it's not clear to me why these files should not work - other than the fact that NO files seem to work. Also, I'm not sure what your reference to "exporting" pertains to - I can't get anything imported, I'm not trying to export anything that (I'm aware of) - I'll worry about exporting once I've managed to get something, ANYTHING to import.
I've got some PP training videos (from "you-probably-know-who.com"). Following along using their project files and their video assets (MOV files in this case), I still get the exact same error.
So to summarize, so far, I've seen no evidence that this copy of PP can import ANY video file.
While I'm sure I would benefit from spending more time with the fine manual, I think there's something wrong here that's not going to be addressed in the introductory documentation.  If I can't import any footage into any project, progress is going to be slow.
How about this: is there some known-to-be-good test file I can grab and try importing that?  I've got very strong suspicions that I'll get the same error message.
    Thanks again.

  • Why can't I import the u3d file as a view onto my pdf document?

After searching the web I finally found the instructions on how to import a 3d view onto a PDF document using Acrobat 7 Pro.
I created the .u3d file and clicked on the TOOLS menu, then ADVANCE EDITING and then 3D Tool. I highlighted an area where I want the 3d view to be and the ADD 3D content window shows up. I then brouse to select my .U3D file and click the OK button. But nothing happens, why? Maybe I need to install more options? Does anyone know?

with what app did you create this file?

Please post sufficient information about your AVI file so people can help solve your problem. Did you create the AVI file or get it from somewhere else? Read this page and search for "AVI" to find out more: Troubleshoot video files.

  • Why can't firefox read htm default files as a pdf?

Approx. 1 month ago my local city website agenda/minutes posting are began loading as default htm files. The files open in complete gibberish. Previously they were PDF files and I had no problem. If I use internet explorer they still load as PDF files. Why is there a problem using Firefox?

Please provide a hyperlink to that website or exact page where that is happening, so we can see the problem for ourselves. Sounds like some configuration is not working correctly for you and you're not getting the PDF files that are posted there.

  • Is it possible to import data into a Reader Extended PDF created in Livecycle?

    Hi there,
I make a lot of Reader Extended forms for my company. When I issue form updates, sometimes staff have to re-copy or re-type records into forms with repeating subforms.  I'd like to be able to jumpstart their process by importing from an old, filled-out form, into my new updated form.
I've found I can do this by making an XML data file of the data from the old form, but I can't import into an Extended from using Adobe Reader. Most of our staff don't have Acrobat, so they aren't able to save data into non-extended forms.
Is this clear, what I'm asking? Import XML data into Reader Extended form.
Thanks for any help you can give,

    Hi,
It's indeed possible to import data in a reader enabled form with Reader.

  • Why can I not import aif files to garage band?

Once I have created an aiff file in iTunes, why can I not import those files into Garage Band?  I'd like to be able to edit some of those files.

I go to garage band and click on create a new project, then browse through the finder and files I want to import are all grayed out -- aiff AND wav files.
You first need to create a new project  - in the "new Project panel" select a template (Guitar, piano, ...), not "Open an existing file".
When the project window opens, drag your aiff or wav file onto an empty space in the Timeline, or open the Media Browser from the footer bar in GarageBand and import an aiff song from your iTunes Library.

  • Why can't I see my iPhoto files in iMovie?

[DISCLAIMER: My question is short, but my details are not. This is going to be a LONG read, but I wanted to make sure I provided all you helpful people with as much information as I could so that I could receive the best possible solution. So your patience and assistance is greatly appreciated!]
In iMovie [version 4.0.1], when I click on the Photo button to import pictures into my project from iPhoto, the following error message appears: "No photos were found. To use this feature, you must first create a photo library using iPhoto version 2.0 or later."
However... I AM using iPhoto [version 4.0.3]... with a HUGE Library containing 2000+ images and several created albums. These features work just fine within the confines of that program. They just aren't integrating with iMovie correctly. So... why can't I see my iPhoto files in iMovie?!!?!
    FIRST ATTEMPT:
When I checked iMovie help, all it said was "You must open iPhoto at least one time on your computer to be able to access your iPhoto library from iMovie." I've obviously done this, having used the program plenty. Didn't work.
    SECOND ATTEMPT:
When I checked this forum, the closest thread I could find that was similar to my problem suggested deleting the iMovie preferences file [com.apple.imovie3.plist]. It was later added that deleting the iPhoto preferences file [com.apple.iphoto.plist] as well had solved the problem immediately for that user. Tried it. Didn't work.
    THIRD ATTEMPT:
When I checked the Apple Info site, their main solution was to try recreating the AlbumData.xml file which is used to populate the photo listing. Now this file can usually be found in the iPhoto library folder and I know how to recreate it. But THIS is where I think my main problem lies.
Unlike most users, my iPhoto Library is actually located on an external hard drive under "my hard drive name"/Pictures/iPhoto Library. When I checked this folder for the AlbumData.xml file , it simply did not exist. So as a test, I created a new iPhoto Library also on my external hard drive but the AlbumData.xml file was not created with it. I opened up iMovie just to see if it was able to browse the iPhoto library properly. But it still didn't work.
However, when I created a test iPhoto Library directly onto my Mac's hard drive, the AlbumData.xml file was indeed created with it. And when I opened up iMovie again... lo and behold, the iPhoto library finally appeared. It worked. But unfortunately, this solution still doesn't help me at all!
Thing is, I don't have enough space on my Mac's direct hard drive to move my entire iPhoto Library there (where it works). That's why I am using an external hard drive to store (more space). So is there ANY way I can keep my iPhoto Library located on my external hard drive and have the library, albums and files recognized in the other iLife applications like iMovie???
I feel I've tried everything, folks Could someone please please help me?!!?!
[my specs are listed below if that helps any]
    Thanks in advance,
    a very disgruntled wizkid :\
    PowerBook G4 12" [1GHz, 256MB, 40GB]   Mac OS X (10.3.9)   GeForce FX Go5200 32MB, Matshita DVD-R UJ-816, Maxtor External Hard Drive [250GB, Firewire & USB 2.0]

My main concern at this point is that the AlbumData.xml file is unable to create itself onto the External HD. When I view the file [that I created from my test iPhoto Library on my Mac's HD] in finder, it appears to be a Final Cut Pro type of extension. Is something wrong with my External Hard Drive in that regard? Is it just incapable of storing those file types??? Hmmm...
As for the alias solution... instead of alias-ing the "Pictures" folder like you have, I've already tried creating an alias of the "iPhoto Library" folder on my External HD and placing it within the "Pictures" folder on my Mac. But when I tried to "Find Library" upon launching iPhoto, the prompt box would not allow me to choose the "iPhoto Library" alias I had created. So I couldn't open it.
To be honest, I'm not exactly sure how to create an alias correctly... or perhaps I should try alias-ing the actual "Pictures" folder (like you have) rather than just the "iPhoto Library" folder, but I don't know how to do that correctly either.
FYI... I am mounting my External HD before I launch iPhoto.
Also, I have also tried dragging the AlbumData.xml file that I created from the test iPhoto Library into my active iPhoto Library folder residing on my External HD. It would appear to be in the folder, but as soon as I clicked somewhere else in finder and than back into the folder, it would disappear. Not sure how to "point to it" either.
Karl, think maybe you could provide some hints on how to properly alias something or "point" to the AlbumData.xml file? I'd try it myself, but I don't wanna screw anything up by accident.
PS. As stated in the post above, there's a possibility my External HD is no longer Mac OS formatted... at which point I throw my hands up into the air and scream!

Why can't I open my RAW files in my trial version of Photoshop Lightroom 4? I use a Canon 5d mark II, which is supposed to be supported, and I checked for updates, but none were found.

You cannot open files directly with Lr.
    You have to import them.
