Why can't i install cs6 master collection

When ever i click the installer for cs6 nothing happens i checked if it started on the task maneger and it said it was on but nothing is showing up can anyone help me?
also i am using windows 8 and google chrome to download cs6

Not sure why its not initiating the install but you can try rebooting the computer in selective startup : http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/disable-startup-items-services-windows.html and check if any 3rd party software might be interrupting the install.

    Your CS6 must have been purchased as an upgrade.  What it is asking you to select/provide is the name/serial number of the previous version you purchased that qualifies you to install and activate the CS6 upgrade version... this would be likely be one of CS3 thru CS5.5.

    I am installing CS6 Master Collection Student and Teacher Licensing; I am in the middle of the process when I get a dialogue box asking for a second serial number for the Acrobat X Pro, I tried to add the initial serial number in order to start the install and it says it is not a valid serial for this product, what can I do?
    This is suppose to be included in the suite right? why is it asking me for a second SN?

    Contact support directly by phone or web chat. Nobody here can straighten out serial number issues. If you have older versions of Acrobat installed, uninstalling them or running the Creative Suite Cleaner Tool and Acrobat Cleaner Tool may resolve any potential conflicts.

    start at the top and work your way down applying applicable fixes until your problem is resolved.

    "Installer failed to initialize. File not found." or "Installer failed to initialize. This could be due to missing files."
    first, rename OOBE Folder to OOBE.old.
    to find OOBE:
    64 bit win OS: Program Files x86\Common Files\Adobe\OOBE
    32 bit win OS: Program Files \Common Files\Adobe\OOBE
    mac os: HD>library>application support>adobe>caps
    mac os: USER>library>application support>adobe>OOB
    if that fails or isn't the exact error you see, uninstall, clean (http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html) and reinstall.
    if you're using a dvd to install:
    copy the disc contents to a desktop directory and install from that directory.
    if you're using a mac:
    1. Try to Create a new user account in Mac with Administrator Priviledges.
    2. Login to the New user, Navigate to Mac HD> Application> Utilities> Adobe Installer folder, Locate products like Adobe Reader, Adobe Flash, Adobe Air and un-install them
    3. Navigate to User Library> Application Support> Adobe and move Adobe to Trash.
    4. Navigate to Mac HD> Library> Application Support> Adobe and move Adobe to Trash.
    5. Start the installation again.

    I had a prerelease version of CS6 Photoshop on my Mac and now I'm trying to install CS6 Master Collection and it wil not let me install Photoshop, it says there is a conflict with a previous or prerelease version and it needs to be removed before installing the new version.  I uninstalled it but I still cannot install Photoshop, same error message.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.     I installed CS6 Master Collection on two computers. Now local help is no longer available. The Help Manage does open, but all I have are the help config settings, via the About menu, and nothing else (No other windows,et al):
    - General Settings

    - Updater Settings
    - Local Content
    - About = Version 4.0.0.244
    None of the above windows are interactively configurable.Settings are inactive
    Not haveing app help is either local or online is a huge loss. What should I do?

    What you describe above works with some CS6 apps, but not all. For example help weill not render for both Premier Pro and After Effects. I did not try help activatoin for all the Master Collection CS6 apps.
    I wish that I had somehow known the Community Help had gone away with CS6. I spent the better part of an afternoon trying to make the old version of help work after installing CS6. Seems that what you guys did was a step backwords per accessing help.

    Not necessarily. The trial can be activated with the serial number. Only instal lagain, if that doesn't work.

    Recently, I have successfully downloaded Adobe creative suite CS6 master collection for MAC.
    However, I am unable to install it. After opening the installer nothing happens, it does not proceed further. I have tried copying the contents from MasterCollection_CS6_LS16.dmg to another folder and then open the install.app, still no progress.
    Please advice since I really need to install this.

    The situation is like this, I downloaded the image on my desktop pc(which is windows) and then compress & split the image using a winrar. I then transferred the files to my mac book pro and extracted the image there. Unfortunately, there was a bug in the unarchiver software that I was using on mac to extract the image.
    This bug was rectified today in a update given out by the dev.
    Now, I can install CS6 without any issues. Thanks for the repsonse once again.
